From the LVRJ: The Metropolitan Police Department forwarded the names of nearly 2,000 inmates to federal officials during the first 10 months of a partnership that allows specially trained corrections officers to start deportation proceedings against immigration violators...
Police sent the names of 1,849 inmates who were determined to be in the country illegally to ICE for possible deportation.
Good for Metro. These people who were turned in, were in jail. these were not people who were working, who were living quietly in the community or even supporting their community. These people were arrested and charged with a crime.
Hopefully, the vast majority were deported and Las Vegas's streets are safer.
