Last year, Wal Mart tried to go green. They pushed green products especially light bulbs. They made special displays, put the Green light bulbs everywhere in the stores.
But there was a problem- no one was buying the light bulbs. The displays were hardly touched but regular light bulbs, you know the non-green light bulbs, continued to sell out.
Now, Wal-Mart has significantly scaled back on the green light bulbs in their displays and now promote the regular light bulbs in their displays.
If Wal-Mart cannot successfully sell the environmentally friendly light bulbs to your average, everyday shopper, what makes you think the average consumer will run out and buy other, more expensive green products, especially in this economy?
