From The LVRJ: "A Las Vegas police officer was shot multiple times Tuesday while chasing two suspects involved in a series of crimes earlier in the day, according to police.
One of the suspects was shot and killed during the pursuit. The patrol officer was transported to University Medical Center about 9:11 p.m. and taken into surgery, Las Vegas police said. The officer suffered "very serious, life-threatening" injuries, Capt. Randy Montandon said.
A second officer shot and killed the male suspect in the backyard of a residence near Rainbow Boulevard and Washington Avenue.
Montandon said the deceased suspect and a second male suspect stole a 1995 black Mercedes-Benz and tried to break into a house earlier Tuesday. The car was stolen in the morning. In the afternoon, a homeowner reported that two suspects who tried to break into his house had fled in a black Mercedes". http://www.lvrj.com/news/on-duty-police-officer-wounded-88986802.html
From Channel 13: The officer has been with the Las Vegas Metro Police Department for five to six years and was part of the saturation unit. He was shot in the leg and underwent two surgeries Tuesday night. His name is not being released. http://www.ktnv.com/global/story.asp?s=12193521
It's good a thug is permanently off the streets and his DNA is removed from the gene pool. Again, our prayers go out to the officer and he is very critically injured. The picture in the LVRJ show that the officer is being bagged with either an ambu bag or has been intubated. The fact that LVFD are doing the treatments instead of AMR also shows the urgency, though AMR did the transport. Prayers also go out to the officers of Metro who are involved in this case or are friends with this officer.
I actually went to school with this kid, had classes with him in 7th grade, 8th grade and actually had my only fight in high school with this kid, my freshman year at Durango high school. The name rang through my head as clear as a bell when I heard Damon Beal. Hearing about his past, I can't say I'm surprised. What a waste of life.
ReplyDeleteI'm the cousin of this so called thug, Damon Beal and niece of Marvin Wilson. And i have a Question to who ever wrote this article are you calling them "thugs" because they are Black or because they made bad choices in life? Which I know both males very well and neither were bad people in life just made bad choices at the moment which doesn't make them thugs at all. So when a guy kills his whole family and then his self does that consider him a thug? and also which makes police officers so perfect to just because they hold a badge to kill people and cover up for each other..my question to the police officers in the backyard at the time, why are there witnesses saying after Damon was shot the officer that shot him stood over him and said this is for you mike and shot him twice in the head after he was already down..now tell me which party was right or wrong sounds to me they are both wrong because a police officer is trained to shoot to disable the suspect til they are no threat anymore now if he was already down and no threat then what was the need to kill him? Why because he shot one of his partners or because of his race? And please believe i heard the whole 16 minutes 911 call from start to finish not knowing it was my cousin and uncle at the time on a police scanner in my living room and knew that before they called a 419 on Damon they said he was in custody and then a short time later called a 419...now how was that when the helicopter officer dispatched to the 911 operater that Damon was in custody then the ground unit officer called in a 419 on him? Also you guys say that Marvin Wilson ran from the officers with Damon and which he never did leave the car after it was pit manuevered and hit the wall? Is it because he was badly beat up and the officers are trying to cover up their tracks on his wounds by saying it was from running away? Now since you know everything and also know they were thugs please answer my questions.... Thank you...
ReplyDeleteAnd also my prayers and thoughts go out to the officer and wish him a full recovery.
