From The Las Vegas Sun: "The Nevada Faculty Alliance, representing about 650 members at the state’s eight higher education institutions, confirmed today it is endorsing Democrat Rory Reid for governor."
Now for the comedy: "County Commission Chairman Reid “has done his research on the budget up to this point, and the major issues on the top of our list for the 2011 legislative session,” said Sondra Cosgrove, a history professor at the College of Southern Nevada and president of the campus’ NFA chapter. “Most of the people we talk to know quite a bit about what’s happening in K-12, but then we have to provide them with quite a bit of information about higher ed.” http://www.lasvegassun.com/news/2010/apr/26/higher-education-group-endorse-rory-reid-governor/
Rory Reid has been eerily silent on the Nevada State budget crisis. During the special session, Rory could not be found. Even the Sun has noted his silence and they are his campaign spokesperson.
Considering this is a liberal group, it comes as no surprise that they endorsed Reid and I have no problem with that. Most professors really don't have a clue what a real job is and are clueless about how most people live and work. Case in point, Dina Titus, a woman who has never had a real job in her life.
Those who can't, teach (with a few exceptions in which I am included) and those who can't teach, teach teachers. Those are the professors.
