The Clark County Fire Department firefighters union is declaring war on Rory No Last Name. They ahve taken out advertisements attacking Rory as he runs for governor. An ad like this one:
It makes me wonder why they are taking their anger out on Rory No Last Name. The most vocal critic of the CCFD is Steve Sisolak. The person making the changes is Virginia Valentine who is Clark County Manager and the CCFD Chief is Steve Smith.
So why Rory No Last Name? Well, Rory No Last Name is running for governor of Nevada. But will it help or hurt him in the election? Well, Rory is so far behind in the polls that this squabble with the union can only help Rory. Is that their plan? Not sure since most of the union heirarchy usually endorse Democrats and the union has not endorsed Rory No Last Name's opponent in the election, Brian Sandoval.
For what it's worth, I believe both are wrong. In order not shut down the heavy rescue truck, then the union ought to let the staff at the station the heavy rescue is at to be cross-trained so that the crew can operate the engine or heavy rescue at the same time. But because of union rules, I don't think that the union will allow that. The same is true with the Haz Mat truck as well.
So, why is the union targeting Rory No Last Name?
