Dean Heller, (R-NV) is going to run for U.S. senator, trying to replace John Ensign(Scum-NV).
This comes as no surprise that Heller is going to run, he's been hinting at this for about a year now. He's so confident that he announced via e-mail to his supporters.
And who from the GOP is going to challenge him? Probably a few fly by night candidates, but that's probably about it. Sharron Angle won't- too many negatives statewide and her best shot is going after Heller's seat. After that, there is no serious challengers.
As far as the Democrats are concerned, you have Shelly Berkley but I don't think she will run. She has a very safe seat in congress and she won't want to give it up. Besides, unlike Heller who is known statewide, Berkley is only well known in the central Las Vegas Valley.
The only statewide elected Democrat who I think can present a problem is Ross Miller, Nevada Secretary of State who seems like a conservative Democrat who can cross party lines. He brought down ACORN and is going after Rory Reid for campaign violations. Other than that, the Democrats have no one.
So, good luck to Dean Heller, our next U.S. Senator.
