From Howie Carr from the Boston Herald: In the old days, when an ambulance arrived at your door, the first thing the EMT would ask would be something like: “Where does it hurt?” or “What are the symptoms?”
But we live in a Politically Correct world now, and so the Mass. Department of Public Health has issued a new directive, “Guidance on the Collection of Race and Ethnicity by Ambulance Services.”
In this document, the first question to the sick person is not: “Do you want to go to the hospital?” The first question is: “Are you Hispanic/Latino/Spanish?”
To which the patient would most likely respond: “What the hell are you talking about, bub? I’m sick.”
But in Gov. Deval Patrick’s PC world, the sick person meekly responds: “What is meant by Hispanic, Latino or Spanish?”
The EMT is provided with an explanation to read, just slightly shorter than the Gettysburg Address, that we pick up in progress: “Usually, but not always, people who trace their heritage or family’s ancestry to Spain or a country in Latin American (sic) can think of themselves as Hispanic.”
But not always, eh? If those are the criteria, I’m Hispanic. So don’t even think about sending me a bill, gringo — that’s a hate crime.
By this time, the patient may be bent over in excruciating pain, but the apartheid exam must continue.
“What is your race?”
The PC Police cleverly anticipate the dying patient’s possible response: “We’re all human beings.”

Sometimes, when seconds count and the first thing paramedics and EMTS have to ask is the person's race, you know this has to be a stupid liberal idea.
Who cares what race the person is when an ambulance is on the scene and why is it the first question they need to answer?
When I was an EMT in North Dakota and Wisconsin, I could not care less if they were white, black purple or anything else. I even had a patient who was a liberal legislator in Wisconsin and I treated her just the same as anybody else.
Most EMT's are the same.
This information also is not needed. Again, who cares. Let them do the questionnaire in the hospital after they have been stabilized if it so important.
Another bit of liberal stupidity.
