The National Education Association hates the Wisconsin and other state labor laws restricting collective bargaining and makes the unions responsible for collecting union dues.
I am sure one reason is that the NEA hates to think it will lose the cash cows of union dues.
I've been going over employee compensation for NEA employees (http://kcerds.dol-esa.gov/query/orgReport.do) for the 2010 report.
I got only through F in the list of names and already they had over 125 employees making over $100,000 a year, with many making in the upper $100,000's to well over $200,000.
Also, State Affilate Executives- those who run the state organizations- make well in excess of $225,000. Just like a teacher, right?
If the NEA starts losing revenue, some of these people will be losing their lavish life styles.
And that is another reason why unions are so afraid of the collective bargaining laws.
