University of Nevada-Reno President Dies Suddenly

UNR President, Milt Glick died suddenly while having dinner with his wife. From RGJ.com: UNR President Milt Glick died of a stroke Saturday night while out having dinner with his wife. Glick was taken to the hospital, but never recovered, according to Dan Klaich, Chancellor of the Nevada System of Higher Education. Glick assumed his duties at UNR in May 2006, and since coming shepherded the opening of several major student-centered buildings, increased recruitment of National Merit Scholars to the Reno campus and the creation of a more culturally diverse campus. A few weeks ago, Glick and the medical college were given grief about having the new dean (or 2nd in charge) of the Medical School live in Las Vegas full time. So, our thoughts are with the family first followed by the UNR community and hopefully, politics will not take over this tragedy.
