In Pahrump, there is the story of a father's rage over his daughter's boyfriend and it ended with the father killing the boyfriend by shooting him at point blank range.
From the Pahrump Valley Times: A Pahrump man was arrested early Thursday morning after a shooting incident left a 21-year-old man dead and a 14-year-old boy injured.
Daniel Robbins, 46, was charged with murder and battery with a deadly weapon after police say he shot to death his 19-year-old daughter’s boyfriend, Chris Mundy.
Mundy was killed at about 1:30 a.m. by a single gunshot to his neck as he sat in his car in the driveway of Robbins’ home at 940 Benson Circle. The bullet passed through Mundy and struck the juvenile’s arm. The juvenile is the brother of one of Mundy’s closest friends. The juvenile was transported to University Medical Center in Las Vegas, where he was treated and released, according to sources.
Mundy was at Robbins’ home to pick up a car and other possessions belonging to Robbins’ daughter, Jennifer.
Jennifer had been arrested at the home Wednesday evening after an unrelated domestic dispute involving her sister. She called Mundy from jail to retrieve her belongings.
Police say at some point that evening Mundy and Robbins were engaged in some sort of altercation via Facebook that boiled over when the younger man showed up at Robbins’ home.
Sheriff Tony DeMeo said that any confrontation that occurred between Robbins and Mundy at the home occurred very quickly before Robbins began firing from a 9mm handgun.
DeMeo said Robbins first fired his gun from the home’s front porch, which is surrounded by a low wall and a gate. That shot entered the front bumper of Mundy’s white car, which was parked.
Robbins allegedly then walked from the porch to the car’s driver side window, where he placed the gun near the side of Mundy’s head and fired the fatal shot.

The father was completely wrong for shooting the victim point blank. There was no justifiable reason to kill someone over being in your driveway. If they are not a threat to you, you simply call the police and let them handle the situation.
However, the daughter was acting like a spoiled and immature brat. She thought she owned the home and could do whatever she wanted. Then she gets her ass thrown in jail by beating a sibling earlier in the day. Then from jail, she sends her boyfriend over to her house in the middle of night to get her things and car. First, how was the boyfriend going to get the car when he was in his truck and presumably cannot drive a car and truck at the same time. The daughter set her boyfriend up to be killed by her spoiled brat actions.
I have a general rule: I do not go over to any one's house if I am not invited after 9:00 PM or earlier and if I am told not to go to the house by the head of the household, I would never think of going over to that person's house. And if someone fires a shot at me or my truck, I am out of there as fast as I could drive. Simply put, the victim should have stayed home and if he did, he would be alive today. Sadly, he acted on his spoiled girlfriend's wishes, didn't use common sense, acted with bravado and now he is dead.
So, because of a hot head father, a spoiled immature brat daughter and a boyfriend who did her bidding, did not use common sense and went to a house where he was not welcome, we now have a father in jail and a boyfriend dead.
When people act stupid, stupid things happen.
