Not All Nevadan Politicians Are Against Yucca Mountain

Even though the Nevada MSM continues to only give one side of the argument about Yucca Mountain- they are against storing nuclear waste at Yucca, it seems that the politicians closest to Yucca are actually for restarting Yucca.
From the Pahrump Valley Times: Nye County Commissioners Tuesday ratified an emergency action at a July 26 teleconference to join a lawsuit seeking to force the U.S. Department of Energy to complete its licensing process for the Yucca Mountain project....
“The decision that came back from the courts pretty much advised the parties on what would be the proper approach on which to address this issue. Based on that, the states have reached out to Nye County since we are such a vital part to this, that the states are in the process of putting together a lawsuit in which they want us to join with them. In doing so, we would have a tremendous cost savings in that we would be able to share costs with these other states,” Kunzi said at the teleconference.
The resolution approved Tuesday without discussion, notes Nye County has been conducting an aggressive oversight and independent scientific investigation of the Yucca Mountain project since 1988, under the authority of the Nuclear Waste Policy Act....
The resolution states it is in the interest of Nye County and essential to its ability to preserve and advance its ability to protect the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of Nye County by participating in any mandamus action to force the NRC to fulfill its obligations under the Nuclear Waste Policy Act.

While politicians like Crybaby Harry Reid, Shelly Berkley, Brian Sandoval and others don't like Yucca, the people who live closest to Yucca see the benefits of storing nuclear material deep inside the mountain.
And in case you forgot, Nevada already accepts nuclear waste from other states now. And I am sure Yucca will be a lot safer than blowing up nuclear bombs like they did in Nevada in the 1950's to the 1960's. And they move nuclear bombs and missiles all around the country every day, so transportation is not an issue.
So, good luck to Nye County in getting Yucca restarted. It will be good for Nevada in general and southern Nevada specifically.
