From the Pahrump Valley Times: The Mizpah Hotel in Tonopah, Amargosa Opera House in Amargosa Valley and the Goldfield Hotel in the small town of Goldfield have all been associated with paranormal activities piquing the interest of Michael Knight, the founder of Knight’s Paranormal Research Society in Las Vegas. For more than 20 years, Knight and his sister have tracked down ghosts, spirits, specters and the like. For those who don’t believe in paranormal activities Knight says, think again. He and many others have witnessed, first hand, actual hauntings in homes and businesses throughout Nevada. Those who contact him for his service, are, according to Knight, “frantic and often fearing for their lives.”“We are paranormal investigators. We help out families who are in distress, high profile cases. We handle businesses, residential and everything like that,” he said. When asked directly if there are indeed such things as ghosts, Knight did not hesitate to say “absolutely.”“Most definitely there is. There’s no question about it. A lot of people don’t believe, and I always say you have to see to believe it, so there’s a lot of people out there who would dismiss it.“If you put them in a situation where they can’t deny it, then it’s a different story,” he said. There are many levels when it comes to ghosts, including poltergeists, which means “noisy spirit.”He said ghosts are basically energy from someone who has died and has not ventured to the other side.“The spirit itself continues to go on. When I say levels, you have spirits which are afterlife that know they have crossed over.“Ghosts are usually the ones who can’t accept the fact, and are earthbound and are scared to cross over — meaning they forgot to finish what they have to do here.“They think they are part of reality or they don’t know it and continue to live their life. Mostly it’s energy,” he said.Averaging roughly a half dozen calls each day, Knight said most of the callers are very genuine. He noted the people who contact him are truly desperate and terrified about their situation.“People are on the verge of suicide. They are tormented from the poltergeist activity.“Things are slamming. These people can’t sleep. They are frightful for their lives and their kids and they are on the verge of basically suicide at this point,” he said. http://pvtimes.com/news/the-paranormal-investigators-tales-can-make-you-a-believer/
I've been to Goldfield (technically, not in Nye County, but very close) and I would not be surprised if there are ghosts there. Most of the town seems haunted. http://lasvegasbadger.blogspot.com/2009/10/goldfield-national-recognition-or-junk.html
It's a town unlike any of the thousands of towns that I have seen in my lifetime.
Are there ghosts? I think so and I do know there are guardian angels. Though I think the article exaggerates how people feel about ghosts (Callers think of suicide? Seems to be a bit harsh)
But if there are ghosts, come to Las Vegas and Nye County and you may see one, especially if you see Wayne Newton. Ok, just kidding but still....
So, in honor of Halloween:
