Pawn Stars Review: November 28, 2011

Welcome to the latest of the new episodes of Pawn Stars. I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving (for those who visit from the U.S.) and now it's Christmas Season. Several radio stations are going wall to wall Christmas music. It's been a beautiful week here in the Valley, with temps. in the 60's and at times close to 70 with lots of sun. Can't beat that.
In the first episode of Pawn Stars, the the guys went out to a local airport to see an L39 Albatross fighter jet airplane, It was a Soviet era airplane. The guy wanted $200,000 for the plane, but Rick needed an expert, Matt. Matt is a former Blue Angel pilot and Top Gun Graduate. He looked the plane over and said it looked ok. Rick and Chumlee didn't want to fly in the plane when given the chance. They took the plane from I think, the Henderson Airport. They really took the plane on a nice trip with rolls. Matt thought the plane was worth around $170,000. To keep the plane, Rick would have to hanger the plane and fly it at $5000 a pop. The guy wanted $200,000. Rick offered $80,000 and there was no sale but because of the risk.



The next guy brought in a bat from Babe Ruth and a old glove from Christy Mathewson. The guy wanted between $50-100,000 Time for an expert- Jeremy. Jeremy thought both the bat and glove were not real because of the time period and because someone who had authenticated the glove and bat were not trustworthy.. at least the signatures were fake. No sale.
The next guy brought in a sun tanning lamp from the 1940's. It kind of looks like a satellite dish. They plugged in the lamp and the light hummed and it was quite bright. The guy wanted $400 and Rick offered $40 and then $50 and that was the sale price.
In the second episode, the first guy brought in a movie poster from the movie Bullitt. The poster was autographed by Steve McQueen, Jacqueline Bisset, Robert Vaughn Robert Duvall etc. Time for an expert, Drew. Drew said the signatures were fake. Steve McQueen's signature had a lot of mistakes in it, so no sale. The poster by itself was worth $1000 but with the signatures, it was worth nothing. Mark from the Clark County Museum showed up. Mark said there was nothing extraordinary and not that rare. The guy wanted $20,000. Rick offered $200. Then the guy said he would take $3000. No sale.
The next guy brought in 2 old Civil War diaries from 1864-65. they were from his great, great grandfather. They were hard to read because of the script. Time for another expert.
The next guy brought in a 2004 New England Patriots Super Bowl championship from Ricky Bryant. It was from Super Bowl 39 and they played the Eagles. Because there was a concern of the Josten's signature inside the ring, so time of the cast. Time for an expert. Jeremy came in again and said that the ring was real and worth $30-35,000. The guy wanted $22,000 and Rick offered $18,000 and then $20,000. Finally, they settled at $21,000 for the sale price.
