Another Victory For Concealed Carry

From the Las Vegas Sun: A man who apparently tried to rob a pawn shop was shot to death Wednesday morning after exchanging gunfire with a store employee, Metro Police said.
A man entered the Cash America SuperPawn store in the 7000 block of North Durango Drive about 9:30 a.m. in what appeared to be an attempt to rob the store, Metro spokesman officer Bill Cassell said.
The man was armed with a gun and exchanged shots with a store employee, Cassell said.
Nobody else was injured, police said. It is unclear how many shots were fired and whether any customers were in the store.
No arrests have been made, and police were interviewing employees.
The name of the man killed has not been released.
Crime scene investigators were on the scene, and the area has been cordoned off.

There have debates about concealed carry throughout the years and the those who oppose concealed never point to cases like this: A robber comes into a store with a gun and threatens people with a gun and the employee customer pulls out their concealed weapon and shoots the robber dead.
This happens more often than most people think. Since I have been in Las Vegas, this is probably 15th case of a intruder/robber shot dead by people protecting their property and life. There have been few, if any cases in Las Vegas of people abusing their concealed permit during the same time frame.
And for those people who think working in a pawn shop is like the TV series, Pawn Stars, it's not. You have people who are at their wits end, trying to get money and the pawn shop is often the last place they can turn to. You have frustrated customers who think you are trying to rip them off and they will cuss and swear at you.
Then you have the pressure of working at the store- trying to protect yourself, make money for the store while people try and pass off stolen or fake merchandise. And if you are not careful and take in something bad, you can be fired on the spot. Cops hassle you while they look for stolen merchandise and make sure you follow all the rules and regulations. Then you have a lot of cash on hand, so you are a tempting target of robbers, like this thug in the morning.
Trust me, before Pawns Stars made it big time in Hollywood and Vegas, I am sure they had the same problems- thugs as customers, problems with the police and they probably had an armed robbery or two in their 30 years as being pawn brokers. Now, during the day, they don't have that problem. At night, when only the door window is opened and there is no security and few employees, I am sure things change.
So, it was a good day for the employee at the Super Pawn- he goes home to live another day. And the thug that was killed will be buried soon and we will lose him from the DNA pool.
