Tonight, powerful tornadoes have hit and continue to hit Kansas, especially around the Wichita.
There have numerous building collapses in Wichita City along with numerous fires according to the fire dispatch. There have also been some rescues of people in collapsed buildings but they firefighters are also being hampered by branches, trees and electrical lines down.

Wichita Fire is still responding to fires and building collapses. There have also been several car accidents with people trapped by power lines. There are a lot of power outages.
There are also numerous gas lines broken. At least 1 mobile home park has been hit with severe damage. There does not appear to be very many injuries yet, but EMS has been dispatched to many calls including medical calls and some injuries. No reports of fatalities, thankfully.
In Butler county, there is a tornado still on the ground but the damage does not appear to be very big at this time.

They have trees down but that's about it from what I can tell, especially around El Dorado. A tree fell into a house and some cars.
Listening to the scanners, the dispatchers and fire and police personnel are acting very professionally.
Update: Another building collapse in Wichita has just been reported.
update: Several brush fires are being reported in Wichita.
A ornado is suppose to be on the ground of Lyon County but no one is observing it right now. The sheriff dept. is taking normal calls in Lyon County.
Update: Wichita Fire is worried that another storm is going to hit within an hour.
Wichita Fire apparently do not have mqany rigs with chain saws.
Here in Las Vegas, we are cold, rainy and snow in theo mountains. Very strange weather indeed.
Wichita Fire have called in off duty firefighters and are putting in reserve ladder trucks and engines.
Another storm must be hitting as the command officer ordered all firefighters in the field to move into their vehicles immediately.
Wichita als has called in mutual aid from nearby cities.
McConnel AFB personnel has been helping out with rescues and searches.
