Clark County must be rolling in money because they are paying and wasting money hand over fist.
Story # 1: A dispute over the firing of a former assistant parks manager is costing Clark County almost half a million dollars.
The
County Commission approved a $499,000 settlement Tuesday for former
Assistant Parks Director Terry Lamuraglia, who was fired in 2008 for
what county officials said were publicized emails indicating he created
a plan to leave almost 90 parks unguarded by park police during
Memorial Day weekend.
The plan was scrapped.
At the time of
his firing, Lamuraglia, a former fire union official, said he followed
the orders of Leonard Cash, who was the parks director, in creating the
holiday plan.
He argued Cash wanted park police patrols to
concentrate in the far northwest valley and the Wetlands Park in the
east valley, leaving the Metropolitan Police Department to handle calls
at all other parks.

Story #2:
An arbitrator has ruled that Donald Munn, a Clark County firefighter
who was fired over allegations he abused sick leave, will get his job
back.
In his May 9 ruling, arbitrator Michael Rappaport wrote that he
"simply was not persuaded that the county was able to meet its burden
of clearly and convincingly proving that Munn abused his sick leave."
Rappaport ordered that Munn be reinstated to his former position and
"made whole for any losses in earnings or benefits that he would have
received if he wasn't terminated."
Munn, 57, was fired in May after an 18-year career with the
department when he was accused by county officials of lying about his
use of sick leave.

This was a horrible ruling from some idiot from California. This "firefighter" is using his son to take time off. Questions: Why wasn't the son in school or sheltered workshop? Why do taxpayers have to pay for this clown to take off 24 hours when he is not needed the entire day? Perhaps, this "firefighter" should not be a firefighter is he is going to use the County taxpayers to pay him to be a very expensive babysitter. This "firefighter should be in a different line of work if his son is that bad off that he needs to take 24 hours off to take care of him. This will cost the County a few hundred thousands of dollars.
Finally:
They're nurses, environmental health specialists, accountants, lab technicians -- public health employees paid to not serve the public after the Health District suddenly shut down its headquarters.
Contact 13 Chief Investigator Darcy Spears uncovers how much you paid for it.
What would you do with some unexpected paid time off? Tee it up for
an afternoon on the links? Maybe hit the mall? Take in a movie? Or
just enjoy a backyard staycation.
Dozens of Health District employees recently found themselves with paid
time on your dime. Instead of serving the public, they were told to
stay away from work.
"The taxpayers are once again on the hook. This is like giving someone
an extra week's vacation!" exclaimed County Commissioner Steve Sisolak....
Twenty-five nurses are among 70 public health employees put on paid
administrative leave during the week following the Health District's
closure of its Shadow Lane headquarters.
Total tab to taxpayers? Nearly $22,000....
Guess what else they did?
They charged taxpayers nearly $7900 in overtime to make up for all
the missed work... bringing the total to almost $30,000. And it could
still go up. http://www.ktnv.com/news/local/151454395.html
It seems like the employees of Clark County are using the taxpayers of this County as their own private piggy bank. But they are allowed to get away with this is because we have inept leaders and County commissioners, who, by the way are all Democrats.
It's a shame, but we are slowly becoming a toilet of liberalism in Clark County, almost like California. We have the crime and gangs, the reckless spending, horrible leaders and lot's of "free money", but we not quite there yet. At least we don't have a governor like Jerry Brown the big goof Arnold.
