Penn State To Get Punished For Sexual Assualt Cases

Uh oh:

NCAA president Mark Emmert has decided to punish Penn State with severe penalties likely to include a significant loss of scholarships and loss of multiple bowls, a source close to the decision told ESPN's Joe Schad on Sunday morning.
But Penn State will not receive the so-called "death penalty" that would have suspended the program for at least one year, the source said.
The penalties, however, are considered to be so harsh that the death penalty may have been preferable, the source said.
The NCAA will announce "corrective and punitive measures" for Penn State on Monday morning, it said in a statement Sunday. Emmert will reveal the sanctions at 9 a.m. ET in Indianapolis at the organization's headquarters along with Ed Ray, the chairman of the NCAA's executive committee, and Oregon State's president, the news release said.
 It is expected the NCAA Division I Board of Directors and/or the NCAA Executive Committee has granted Emmert the authority to punish through nontraditional methods, the source told Schad.

This a tough one.  I think the blood is in the water and the NCAA sharks are circling.  They want to look like they are taking sexual assault seriously.(Of course, they have ignored all the athletes who been accused of sexual assault and other crimes)
But if this is the case, then why hasn't the NCAA acted when football players and other athlete have been convicted of sexual assault?  How about other crimes? 
This is a case where the NCAA needs to stay out.  Let the criminal courts handle Sandusky and anybody else that was involved in the cover up.
Let the civil courts handle any financial punishment they may hand out.
But it sounds like the NCAA is going to hurt not only the Penn State University football team, but they are going to hurt the athletes and students of the college and they didn't have anything to do with the scandal.  No player or athlete have been involved in the crime or cover up, so why is the NCAA going to punish them? 
But if the NCAA is going to punish Penn State, then they have set a precedent and every time an athlete, coach or cheerleader is convicted of a crime and/or there is a cover up, then the NCAA better be set to punish the school.
So, it will be interesting to see what the NCAA will do and since this is Vegas, I wonder what the over/under of days it will be for Penn State to file a lawsuit and request an injunction.
