Sad Day At Fort Bliss

From the El Paso Times:
Six U.S. soldiers, all of them from the 978th Military Police Company from Fort Bliss, were killed Sunday in a roadside blast in Afghanistan, according to family members.
The soldiers' deaths were the worst one-day loss of life for Fort Bliss soldiers since the 507th Maintenance Company lost nine soldiers at the outset of the Iraq war in March 2003.
Among the MPs killed were:
Army Spc. Erica Alecksen, 21, of Eatonton, Ga.
Army Pfc. Cameron Stambaugh, of York, Pa.
Spc. Clarence Williams III, of Tampa, Fla.
AJ Pardo, of Porterville, Calif.
Staff Sgt. Ricardo Seija, 31, Tampa Bay, Fla.
Pfc.Trevor Adkins, hometown unknown.
German Brig. Gen. Gunter Katz, a spokesman for the U.S.-led coalition, said in an Associated Press report that the six Americans were killed when their armored vehicle struck a bomb in the Wardak province of eastern Afghanistan.
The Associated Press reported that the deaths were part of a surge of violence that has dealt a stark reminder that war is still raging as NATO plots an exit strategy for the end of 2014.
Sunday's roadside bombs and militant attacks in eastern Afghanistan also killed 19 Afghan civilians and seven Afghan policemen.
