The family, on my wife's birthday, tried a couple of new places in Henderson and I would recommend them, if you live in the Henderson area.
The first place is a tiny Chinese restaurant named Little Dumplings, which is located at Stephanie and Horizon Ridge. It's a struggle to get there because the restaurant is located in a Strip mall, behind the Walgreens. To access it, you have to enter off of Horizon Ridge, in the eastbound lane or on Stephanie in the southbound lane. Otherwise, you have to do some u-turns to enter the mall.
Little Dumplings has all the usual Chinese and some Thai meals. They give you good sized portions and if you dine in, you get free soda. The food is pretty good but the best part of the meal is that they are fast, very fast. In fact, they are about as fast as a drive thru at McDonalds at rush hour, if not faster. The food is hot and plentiful. So, if you can get there, give them a try.
The next place is the Yogurt Bar, which is just a couple hundred yards south of the Chevron on Horizon and Horizon Ridge. You can make your own sundae using their yogurt and toppings. They have at least a dozen flavors of frozen yogurt with at least 20 or more toppings at the toppings bar.
They charge 35 cents an ounce, so you have to be careful and not overload the yogurt and toppings or you will have a $8 sundae but it will be good.
Finally, I tried a new barbershop in Henderson today. it's located by Boulder Highway and Wagonwheel, on the far east side of Henderson. The guy that runs the shop (and I don't know the name of the shop- the sign says Barbershop, so I guess that's the name) does a nice job for a basic haircut and it only costs $11. The guy also has some good stories to tell about sailing and fishing as he also is a fishing guide in California and has sailed yachts around the world for rich clients.
So, if you live in the Henderson areas, please try these places out. They are all small local businesses and if want to keep small business alive, we need to support them.
