AM 670 KMZQ of Las Vegas has dropped talk radio, mostly conservative talk radio, for sports talk. They are now an affiliate of Yahoo Sports.
They have dropped the Herman Caine show, among others, for Yahoo Sports.
They now join AM 1100, 920 and now 670 as sport talk shows. AM 1100 and 920 have a local angle on sports and 670 doesn't seem to any local talk.
My guess is that when Neal Bortz left talk radio, they decided to drop political talk radio and go for the all sports format.
Will they succeed? Who knows- 3 all sports radio stations in Las Vegas seem to be overstretching the market, but time will tell.
It's not enough to have other sports talk stations and 720 AM doing sports talk part time at night (around midnight) and lose another decent station.
ReplyDeleteAt least it didn't go Spanish.
