Huge Fire At Former Key Largo Casino In Vegas
Channel 8 is reporting a huge fire at the old Key Largo Casino, on Flamingo and Paradise.
It is now a 4 alarm fire with 40 fire units and 100 firefighters.
Clark County, Las Vegas firefighters and firefighters from Henderson and North Las Vegas are also helping out.
It looks like most of the roof is gone.
Since the building is abandoned, it probably was started by some squatters who have been known to set fires at Valley homes and businesses.
Update from the Las Vegas Sun: Firefighters are battling a fire Wednesday afternoon at the shuttered Key Largo Casino.
Around 3:05 p.m., units from the Clark County Fire Department swarmed the Key Largo, 377 Flamingo Road, said Stacey Welling, a Clark County spokesman. Heavy smoke and flames were showing from the roof when firefighters arrived..
Commuters in the area can expect major delays, said Officer Jose Hernandez, a Metro Police spokesman.
He said the intersection of Flamingo and Paradise roads had been closed. Commuters traveling east and west on Flamingo, and South on Paradise should expect delays, Hernandez said. The fire has also caused delays for southbound travelers on Koval Lane. Hernandez said it’s unclear when traffic flow will return to normal.

The fire must have had a huge start because there is a fire station a block or two from the casino. That station has 2 engines and a ladder truck.
