Pawn Stars Review: June 20, 2013

Welcome to another Pawns Star review on a Thursday.   I forgot about it but thank goodness for the DVR.

In the first episode, the first guy brought in a antique gambling device for cheaters.  It was used to hold cards close to their body when playing cards.  It was patented in 1896.  The guy wanted $200. 
In the end, it turns out to be a cuff holder, which is not what Rick wanted.  There was no sale.
The story line is that Corey got hurt playing paintball- injuring his wrist and foot- by Chumlee.

Jim Daly is still alive and he will do a portrait for you for $10,000. 
Rick was concerned that the painting was really a print.  The guy wanted $13,000.  Time for an expert.  To be honest, this is one of the best paintings I have ever seen.
Brett was the expert ad he said it was an original.  Brett said it was worth $10-15,000.  The guy went down to $10,000 and Rick offered $6,000 and then $6500 and that was the selling price.


The next guy brought in a 1800's pull stroller for babies.  It looks like a wheelchair.  Rick thought it may not be a baby buggy.  Rick offered $10 and the guy wanted $30.  Rick offered $20 and that was the sale price.

Rat bikes are motorcycles that have fallen apart over time but been kept on the road and maintained for little or no cost by employing kludge fixes



The guy's bike can go about 130MPH. The guy wanted $15,000 for the motorcycle and time for an expert.  The expert, Chris and he said the motor sounded good.  He said the bike was worth about $6-8,000.  Corey offered $5000 and there was no sale.
In the 2nd episode, the story line was the 4 guys got together as a team for a trivia game at a bar Corey goes to.  The winning prize is $200.


The first guy brought in a Popeye child's coin Dime Register Bank.  It had pictures of Wimpy and Olive Oyl besides Popeye.  The Old Man offered $20 and the guy wanted $50.  The Old Man went to $25 and that was the sale price.

The next guy, Craig, the gun expert, brought in a D Moore Pistol and it supposedly belong to a African American officer in the Civil War and he was from Louisiana.  It belong to a Lt. Craig wanted $7000 for the gun and time for the expert, Mark, who Rick now calls: "The Beard of Knowledge".
Mark came in, with his beard looking rather scruffy, said there were Union Black officers, who were local men and the guy's name was Solomon Hayes. 
Rick offered $5000 and Craig still wanted $7000  and Rick went up to $6000 and Craig stayed at $7000 but settled for $6000 and that was the sale price.
The next woman brought in a signed picture of President Benjamin Harrison, who may or may not be related to Rick, Corey and the Old Man.  http://www.whitehouse.gov/about/presidents/benjaminharrison
The woman had the picture in their family for 70 years.  She wanted $500 but Rick was not sure of the signature.  Time for an expert, Stewart.  The card was a cabinet card.  He was it was an actual signature and signed by the president.  He thought it was worth about $1250.  Rick offered $700 and the lady wanted $800 (greedy?) and $750 was the selling price. 
The guys went to McMullens Pub (http://www.mcmullansirishpub.com/index.shtml), which they actually do have a triva contest.
Chumlee started his own team with Pawn star experts including Mark, Rebecca and Jeremy and so they competed against Rick and his crew.  Chumlee's team won.
