Green Energy Plant Explodes, Creates Huge Amount Of Pollution
From Firehouse.com: Tuesday morning fire at a biodiesel plant in Sedgwick has been contained to the structure, but crews were still battling the blaze, a spokeswoman for the Sedgwick police department said.
No injuries have been reported.
Fire departments from Sedgwick, Sedgwick County, Halstead and McConnell Air Force Base responded to the fire shortly after 8 a.m. just south of the Harvey County border, officials said. McConnell responders are using foam to control the fire.
The fire was contained to the structure within an hour but flames were still coming from the building, the police spokeswoman said.
Corn oil was burning at one point, according to scanner traffic. Firefighters were more concerned about keeping a nearby 5,000-gallon tank of methanol from catching fire. http://www.firehouse.com/news/11074450/massive-fire-burning-at-sedgwick-kan-green-products-facility
More clean energy polluting the air.
