From the New York Daily News:
A California couple who stayed together for 83 years died together last week.
LaVere Robinson, 100, only lived three days longer than her husband, Max Robinson, 101.
Both deaths, which fell on Aug. 26 and Aug. 29, took the family by surprise. Max was recovering from a fall, but his children didn’t think he would die so soon. And LaVere’s death really puzzled them. LaVere had always powered through other health problems. There was no “real reason” that explains why she died exactly when she did, granddaughter Lisa Goeas told the National Review.
Except, perhaps, a lovesick heart.
“They had an amazing relationship, right up to the end,” Goeas said. “They were very much in love with each other and very happy.”
Even through the fog of Alzheimer’s that Max developed in his later years, the devoted hubby would search for his wife....
Max and LaVere enjoyed spending time with their very large family. The family would pile into a motor home to California beaches, like Santa Cruz and Pismo Beach.
The couple had (count them) three daughters, ten grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
