Really Good But Some Hrrible Hypocrisy
From the LVRJ: The barricades were slipped open at the World War II Memorial on Saturday for 35 Southern Nevada veterans getting the chance to tour the monument to their service seven decades ago.
Otherwise closed during the government shutdown, the site was opened to the Nevadans and other special tours for veterans under a National Park Service permit that allowed entry “for First Amendment activities.”
The fountain in the memorial plaza was shut off. The restrooms were locked and so was a temporary porta-potty but tour leaders were given its combination after they promised to secure it when they departed. The sky was gray and spitting for the hourlong stay, and some of the poncho-clad visitors were advised to ride in wheelchairs rather than risk rain-slick footing.
But to borrow the military acronym, the snafu of bureaucracy was hardly an issue for the old-timers, and the sun could just as well have been beaming judging from their reactions as they walked among the monument’s pillars and the triumphal arches. http://www.reviewjournal.com/news/barricades-slipped-open-nevada-vets-wwii-memorial
It is really cool these Vets came to Washington D.C. to see what they came to see without the cops threatening them with arrest.
Per Channel 3, Las Vegas, News, U.S. Rep Joe Heck (GOP) and Stephen Horsford (Democrat) was there. Heck is an actual veteran.
However, in a horrible sense of hypocrisy, Senile/Liar/Coward Harry reid sent a representative to give them a "U.S. Senate challenge coins with Reid’s name engraved on the back."
Reid and President Obama are the ones who want these memorials shut down and the Veteran shut out of these memorials. Further, Reid and Obama have hurt the veterans and current military service members by making their lives more difficult by not paying death benefits, cutting off recreation to the service members over seas, denying them Catholic services and more.
Further, what arrogance for Reid to give the Veterans a coin with his name engraved on the back. I hope some of them threw it away.
It's a shame Reid has become such an arrogant ass hole. When I first moved to Las Vegas, I heard him speak before a bunch of new teachers, along with then Sen. John Ensign. At the time, I thought Ensign was an arrogant jerk and Reid had been a decent fellow.
Wow, how things have changed. Ensign turned out to be a pervert and arrogant jerk who now is a veterinarian and Reid has become so power hungry, senile, a huge liar and a coward.
So, I am glad the WWII Vets got to see their memorials, with no thanks to Reid and they were met by two class acts, Stephen Horsford (who I like personally and even agree with him on some issues) and Joe Heck, another class act.
As an a side, I helped get Nevada Honor Flight off the ground and the fine people running it now have done a tremendous job seeing it through to the visitations.
It is a great charity, in case you have a few extra dollars. http://www.honorflightsouthernnevada.org/
