Two men have been killed and and six people wounded in shootings since Sunday afternoon on the South, West and Southwest sides, authorities said.
Most recently, a 27-year-old man was fatally shot in the 6200 block of South Francisco Avenue, Police News Affairs Officer Ron Gaines said. The man was shot multiple times about 10 p.m. and pronounced dead at Holy Cross Hospital, Gaines said.
About 8:50 p.m., a 31-year-old man was shot multiple times in the 9600 block of South Brennan Avenue, according to Gaines. The man was pronounced dead at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, according to police.
A 15-year-old boy was shot about 7:45 p.m. in the 100 block of East 37th Street, according to police. The boy was shot in the head and taken to Comer Children's Hospital, where he was listed in serious condition, Gaines said.
