From the Chicago Tribune: The 3-year-old boy was outside with his mother, her boyfriend and another man about 10 p.m. Friday night in the Brighton Park neighborhood on the Southwest Side.
The child isn’t old enough to know what a Satan’s Disciple or Two-Sixer is, let alone comprehend all the things that can mean in a neighborhood like this one. But in Chicago, gang conflicts have a way of consuming the neighborhoods where they occur and noncombatants often become an unwilling and unknowing participant.
The child was shot in the chest Friday night, a victim of his mother’s affiliations, said police, who attribute the attack to one of a number of ongoing gang conflicts that occasionally climax with gunfire.
The boy was shot in the 4400 block of South Sacramento Avenue. Charges are pending against three people in the attack, Police News Affairs Officer Jose Estrada said Saturday afternoon.
Police said those standing near the child exchanged words with a passing group of two men and two women, though those involved hadn't been entirely forthcoming and police were trying to sort out conflicting narratives. But the boy – and none of the adults -- ended up in critical condition at Mount Sinai Hospital with a gunshot wound.'
It’s at least the second shooting this week in that area. Last weekend someone shot into a bar commonly known as a two-sixer gang hangout, full of gang members mourning a man who died after police tasered him, and killed a member of the gang while wounding another non-affiliated patron.

Obviously, it is the small child's fault. The child didn't get the message from Michelle that the violence needs to stop as Michelle talked to a bunch of millionaires in a fancy hotel on the coast of Lake Michigan.
