From Philly.com: A man was killed early Saturday morning in Valley Forge National Historical Park, police said, electrocuted while apparently trying to steal copper wiring.
The Norristown man, 41, whose identity was not released pending family notification, was shocked around 4 a.m. at the Kennedy Supplee Mansion, 1700 South Trooper Road, inside the park in Upper Merion Township. Officers responding to a 911 call from the victim's friend found the unconscious victim partially inside a 4,100-volt electrical junction box on the front lawn, Upper Merion Township Police said in a news release.
After PECO shut off electricity to the box, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
He had apparently been trying to steal copper wiring, police said. The man's friend, the 911 caller, was cooperating with police and the investigation was ongoing Saturday afternoon, police said.
