Las Vegas is not going to get a lot of snow but may get an inch or 3.
In Northern Arizona, where I live, we are going to get hard as the low pressure system is going to go right over Northern AZ.
From the NWS: WINTER STORM WARNING NOW IN EFFECT FROM 11 PM THIS EVENING TO
5 PM MST THURSDAY...
THE WINTER STORM WARNING IS NOW IN EFFECT FROM 11 PM THIS EVENING
TO 5 PM MST THURSDAY FOR MOHAVE COUNTY.
* TIMING: PRECIPITATION IS EXPECTED TO DEVELOP AFTER MIDNIGHT IN
SOUTHERN MOHAVE COUNTY AND THIS EVENING NEAR THE UTAH BORDER.
GREATEST ACCUMULATIONS WILL OCCUR WEDNESDAY INTO NEW YEARS DAY
MORNING...THEN TAPER OFF.
* SNOW LEVEL: SNOW LEVELS ARE EXPECTED TO START OFF AROUND 4000
FEET THEN LOWER TO AROUND 2000 FEET.
* TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS: UP TO 4 INCHES BETWEEN 2000 AND
3000 FEET WITH 4 TO 8 INCHES ABOVE 3000 FEET. OVER A FOOT IS
POSSIBLE IN THE HUALAPAI MOUNTAINS AS WELL AS IN AREAS THAT
SEE ANY HEAVIER PRECIPITATION BANDS SET UP OVER THEM.
Sadly, people don't know how to drive normally around here and in Vegas but you add in some snow and all hell is going to break loose.
But credit to Mohave County as they were repositioning their snow removal equipment and salt trucks this morning.
