Yep, going 106 mph in a 50 mph will make the train engineer to lawyer up.
From the NY Daily News: The engineer in control of the speeding Amtrak train that derailed in Philadelphia is a Queens man who's refusing to talk to investigators about the deadly Tuesday night crash.
Investigators said the engineer — identified as Brandon Bostian, 32 —had a lawyer at his side when he met with police for five hours on Wednesday, and he would not make a statement or answer questions.
His only comment came Wednesday night through his attorney Robert Goggin, who told ABC News Bostian had "no explanation" for the crash and no recollection of it either.
Goggin added that the engineer was "very distraught" after learning of the body count caused by the fatal crash.
Bostian told his attorney he had "no health issues" and was on no medications before the crash, and that he only remembers getting tossed around in the train and, some time later, finding his phone and calling 911. He suffered a concussion, injuries to both his legs and a head wound that required 14 staples, Goggin told ABC. http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/doomed-amtrak-train-engineer-refuses-talk-police-article-1.2221181
Now, if there is case for involuntary manslaughter, this would be it, though it makes me wonder why the engineer was going so fast and if he was under pressure from Amtrak to be on time or be early on his run.
Or he could have been just lazy and not caring how fast he was going.
