From AZ Central: U.S. Rep. Matt Salmon made it official on Tuesday: He won't challenge Sen. John McCain in Arizona's 2016 Republican primary, even though a poll suggests he could have given the five-term veteran and 2008 GOP presidential nominee a tough fight.
Salmon, a conservative who represents an East Valley congressional district, personally informed McCain of his decision Tuesday.
Despite persistent efforts by national "tea party"-aligned organizations such as the Club for Growth, FreedomWorks, the Senate Conservatives Fund and Citizens United to persuade him to try to take on McCain, Salmon ultimately decided to sit out the race. http://www.azcentral.com/story/news/arizona/politics/2015/09/29/matt-salmon-wont-challenge-john-mccain-senate-seat/73015096/
That's ok, big boy, we already have a great candidate to oust the senile McCain in the primary- Kelli Ward, who lives in Mohave County. In fact, there are several conservative GOP members who are itching to take on the loser McCain in the GOP primary.
McCain, while a semi-war hero, really is a RINO who is out of touch with most people of Arizona and Kelli Ward would be a great replacement of McCain.
But of course, the GOP establishment will go to bat for McCain, as he has shown that he is not a tough fighter for the average U.S. citizen and is really an embarrassment to those of us who live in Arizona.
