According to Michelle Malkin, Harry Reid is bringing up the DREAM Act for a vote tomorrow, Tuesday, at 11:15 AM (our time). http://michellemalkin.com/2010/09/20/stop-the-illegal-alien-student-bailout-now-dream-act-senate-phone-list/
The Dream Act is nothing but amnesty for illegal aliens. It gives a very easy pass to kids of illegals who have been here for a certain amount of time if they go to college or enter the military. http://lasvegasbadger.blogspot.com/2010/07/harry-reid-completely-wrong-on-illegal.html
Further, Harry is putting this on the military spending bill. What does this have to do with the military spending?
Harry and the Democrats are going off the deep end before the election. Maybe they figure they need to shore up their base? Maybe they are being suicidal, politically speaking.
And the LVRJ and the Las Vegas Sun reaction to this: yawn, nothing to see or hear.
And Harry Reid thinks Tea Party members and Sharron Angle are extremists. No Harry, you are the extremist and you and your ilk are bent on destroying this country.
Duh, it's part of the military spending bill because it's meant to encourage these kids to enter the military. This country doesn't have a draft, and it's more difficult to get volunteers after the back-to-back deployments in Iraq and Afghanistan.
ReplyDeleteThe military is not having a problem getting recruits. There is 6 month waiting time to get into the Marines, recruiting is going so well. So, that argument is false.
ReplyDeleteI was listenng to a couple of talk shows here and the military people on the ground don't support this bill either. You need to have high standards to get into the military and being an illegal alien, no matter what the circumstance, is having high standards.
The Marines have had no trouble getting recruits. The Army has had to lower its eligibility standards in order to meet recruiting goals.
