Harry Reid: Completely Wrong On Illegal Immigration

Harry Reid says he is for Nevada, but his policy on illegal immigration shows otherwise.
First, Reid supports the Federal government in their law suit against Arizona, a law that pretty much mirrors the Federal government laws on immigration. Most Nevadans support the Arizona but harry does not. Strike one.
Then Harry Reid supports the Dream Act. From Reid's web site: "Senator Reid is a longtime supporter of the DREAM Act, which ensures that young people brought to America through no fault of their own have a chance to legalize their immigration status, go to college and make a better life for themselves. If you were brought to this country as a child, have stayed in school and out of trouble, Senator Reid believes you should have the same shot at the American Dream as any other child"
The Dream Act is another way for the Feds to grant amnesty illegal immigrants. Further, the Dream Act allows illegals to compete for school loans and grants, thereby taking away loans and grants from students here legally. It also allows for states to grant in-state tuition for illegals. This makes no sense whatsoever. This will take classroom space away from students who are here legally and with schools like UNLV who are cutting programs, it will hurt legal students even more. There is also no verification process. According to the act, all you have to do is come here, claim you were here before you turned 16 and you are going to be granted amnesty. Of course, there is no way to verify this. http://thehill.com/blogs/congress-blog/education/97745-dream-act-is-a-nightmare
In short, Harry Reid is putting illegal immigrants above students who were born here or are here legally. Strike 2
From Harry Reid's campaign web site: Immigration Reform:
Senator Reid has been a champion for responsible, comprehensive immigration reform that strengthens our immigration laws and secures the border. He also believes we need to provide undocumented workers the opportunity to come out of the shadows, get right with the law and have the opportunity to earn citizenship. Hard-working legal immigrants are a vital part of Nevada’s economy, and comprehensive immigration reform will help our economy recover and stay strong.
(as an aside, when you copy and paste this from Reid's web site, you also get the Spanish version, even though it is not visible when you view the page- not sure if this normal)
In other words, Harry favors amnesty. No question about it. He has stated in the past, the illegals need need to learn English (ok) pay back taxes (how will you figure that out?) pay a fine (from what income and how much) and go to the back of the line(yeah, right And how many people will voluntarily do this)
Amnesty is not the answer to illegal immigration, Sen. Reid. This is strike 3 and Harry, you are out.
