Marquette University Trying To Fire Conservative Professor/Blogger

The University I grew up with because my dad worked for Al McGuire and the Marquette Warrior basketball team is trying to fire a conservative professor/blogger who dared to out a teacher who promoted gay marriage in her classroom.
Marquette University is located in Milwaukee, WI and is a supposed Catholic University, but their values are anything but Catholic.
Marquette has pretty said that the professor, John McAdams is worse than a terrorist, because Marquette would actually defend terrorists nowadays.  But a conservative is worse than a terrorist, in Marquette's eyes.
McAdams has a lot of support from the academic community and conservatives who have heard of the case
You can find out all about the fight from McAdams's blog, the Marquette Warrior: http://mu-warrior.blogspot.com/

Why Don't We take Down Thier Web Sites?

From Fox News: Japan reacted with shock and anger Sunday after an online video was released that appeared to show Islamic State executing Japanese journalist Kenji Goto -- the apparent end to a frantic past couple of days in which officials tried negotiating to save Goto’s life.
The video, called "A Message to the Government of Japan," featured a militant who looked and sounded like a militant with a British accent who has taken part in other beheading videos by the Islamic State group...
Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe expressed outrage at the video that was released on militant websites.  http://www.foxnews.com/world/2015/02/01/video-isis-beheads-japanese-journalist/
We can send a man to the moon.
We have the highest technology regarding computers and technology.
Hell, we even have Al Gore, who invented the Internet.
So, why can't we and other allies, take down these murderous thug's web sites?
Why can't we hack them and put out our messages?
If you can stop them from putting out their messages and their propaganda, then these thug killings may stop.
Maybe if the U.S. or ally put a picture of muhammad wearing a shit filled diaper instead of videos of the killings, then the killings will stop.
These thugs are murdering their hostages because of the publicity they receive, so let's shut down their web sites and try to eliminate their publicity.

MVP

From ESPN: Aaron Rodgers didn't have quite the gaudy numbers he did in his first MVP season. But perhaps it's what the Green Bay Packers quarterback didn't do in 2014 that secured his second NFL Most Valuable Player award.
In winning the MVP on Saturday night in Phoenix, Rodgers was rewarded for a season in which he almost never threw the ball to the other team.
The 31-year-old Rodgers led the NFL in TD-to-INT ratio (38 touchdowns, five interceptions) during the regular season. He also finished second in passer rating (112.2) and yards per attempt (8.43) and third in touchdown passes.
He was the only quarterback to finish in the top three in all four of those categories.
"I feel so fortunate to live out my dreams, year after year," Rodgers said after accepting the award.
His TD-to-INT ratio was the fifth-best single-season mark in NFL history and was second among quarterbacks with at least 30 touchdown passes, trailing only Tom Brady's 36-touchdown, four-interception 2010 season.
http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/12257541/aaron-rodgers-green-bay-packers-named-nfl-mvp
Sucks he is not playing tomorrow- should be but Packer stupidity allowed the Seahawks to play in the Super Bowl instead.
At least, this is a nice 2nd place prize for Rodgers.

Please Retire, Tiger Woods

It's really painful to watch professional athletes who think they are great but in reality, they suck.
Tiger Woods comes to mind.
From ESPN: Give Tiger Woods credit for showing a sense of humor, because there certainly was not much to smile about for him Friday.
After shooting 82, his worst score as a professional, at TPC Scottsdale, Woods stepped to the podium and said: "I'm just doing this so I don't get fined."
Woods laughed at his reference to Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch, but he won't be sticking around town for the Super Bowl.
He was headed back to Florida after missing the cut at the Waste Management Phoenix Open, making his first start of 2015 a shocking one to say the least.
For just the second time in his professional career, Woods failed to break 80. The missed cut was just the 13th time worldwide that he failed to qualify for the final 36 holes and the first time he has done so in back-to-back official tournaments.
Woods, 39, also matched his career-high worst nine-hole score of 44.
http://espn.go.com/golf/story/_/id/12253960/tiger-woods-struggling-again-waste-management-phoenix-open
This is the 2nd straight tournament that Woods has played in in where he finished in last place.
Hell, even the women on the LPGA tour can beat him right now.
I have been saying for several years on this blog that Woods is all washed up.
He is getting old, he has numerous injuries and the current professional golfers don't fear him anymore.
That is a horrible combination.
Woods needs to retire and bow out gracefully while he still has a chance.
He still is marketable but if he keeps stinking up the golf course and failing to make cuts, his marketability will go down drastically.
Go out, Tiger Woods, retire and go and promote products, if you still need the money.
And stop embarrassing yourself.

Sniff

Today, I went inside of a Burger King in the Las Vegas area and ordered me a meal.
I looked at the price and saw they undercharged me.
I asked the manager/cashier about this.
He said he gave me the senior discount.
I did not ask for it.
This is the first time someone has given me a senior discount.
I felt really, really old.
I wanted to cry.
Sniff.

Good For Texas

From the LA Times:  A Texas inmate who had been described as intellectually disabled by civil rights advocates was put to death Thursday, officials said.
Robert Ladd, 57, was pronounced dead at 7:02 p.m. at Texas State Penitentiary in Huntsville, according to a spokeswoman for the state Department of Criminal Justice.
The U.S. Supreme Court on Thursday denied his attorney's request for a stay of execution.

"Get Out Of Here, You Low-life Scum"

Why Can't McCain Fight Obama and the liberals like this?
From pjmedia:  Senate hearing opened this morning with Code Pink protesters trying to arrest former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger for “war crimes.”
The protesters, bearing signs reading “Kissinger War Criminal” and “Cambodia,” rushed up behind the 91-year-old diplomat at the witness table of the Senate Armed Services Committee, which was holding a hearing on global challenges and the U.S. national security strategy.
Also testifying were 94-year-old former Secretary of State George P. Shultz and 77-year-old former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright.
Chairman John McCain (R-Ariz.) said he would call recess until Capitol Police removed Code Pink from the room.
“I’ve been a member of this committee for many years, and I have never seen anything as disgraceful and outrageous and despicable as the last demonstration that just took place,” McCain said, which led to shout-backs from the protesters.
“You know, you’re going to have to shut up, or I’m going to have you arrested. If we can’t get the Capital Hill Police in here immediately… Get out of here, you low-life scum,” McCain added.
“So Henry, I hope you will — Dr. Kissinger, I hope on behalf of all of the members of this committee on both sides of the aisle — in fact, from all of my colleagues, I’d like to apologize for allowing such disgraceful behavior towards a man who served his country with the greatest distinction. I apologize profusely.”
Later, when Kissinger began his opening statement, more protesters popped up in the room, screaming about Vietnam and rattling off his “war crimes.”
http://pjmedia.com/tatler/2015/01/29/code-pink-tries-to-arrest-91-year-old-kissinger-for-war-crimes-get-smacked-down-by-94-year-old-george-schultz/
First, it's pretty pathetic that Code Pink protests a frail 91 year old man and against a war that has been over for about 40 years.
And second, why doesn't Code Pink do these kind of vial protests against President Obama?

What Would You Do?

From the Chicago Sun Times:
Richard Sherman is on baby watch.
And not in the way that Jay Cutler was just days ago.
Sherman and his girlfriend, Ashley Moss, are expecting their first child any day now.
The Seattle Seahawks cornerback is not sure what he will do if the birth of his son conflicts with the Super Bowl.
From ESPN:
But if his son decides it’s time to enter the world on Sunday, Sherman may be faced with a career-defining decision.“We’ll cross that bridge when we get there,” Sherman said. “We’re not thinking about the possibility.”
The normally vocal and transparent Sherman did not give a definitive answer that he would skip the birth of his child for the Super Bowl — something even the most kind-hearted of Seahawks fans could have a tough time swallowing.  http://chicago.suntimes.com/national-sports/7/72/559923/richard-sherman-to-skip-super-bowl-for-birth-of-child
So, you are one of the biggest stars, on the worlds biggest stage with millions of people cheering for you.
Do you piss off all your fans, teammates and bettors?
Or your girlfriend?
If he does miss the game, the Patriots will be blamed and it will be called "Babygate".

Racism: It's Everwhere, It's Everywhere...Not

Good lord, this is just moronic.
From the NY Daily News: The recent arrest of controversial Nevada cattle rancher Cliven Bundy's son could have had a more tragic result if he was black, according to some civil liberties advocates.
The 42-year-old Ryan Bundy, who is white, struggled with officers outside a Ceder City, Utah, courthouse while getting cuffed Tuesday, the Salt Lake Tribune reported.
The rancher, who was wanted for taking a stray horse out of an animal shelter without permission, was not injured and the officers never even pulled out their guns during the wild ordeal — which some argued could have ended with more violently if he was black.
"It is almost universally understood that people of color are subjected to the use of force by police at a far greater rate than others," Donna Lieberman, executive director of the New York Civil Liberties Union, told the Daily News.  http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/bundy-son-arrest-shows-disparate-race-treatment-advocates-article-1.2097025
So, let's see.
Was Bundy armed?
Nope.
Did Bundy try and take an officer's gun?
Nope.
Did Bundy try and run down the cops with his car?
nope.
Bundy acted like an ass, like many people who are arrested.
And like most people who fight with the cops but don't get that stupid are not shot.
And like 99.9% of the times a person is arrested, they were not shot by the cops, whether they were black, white, brown or green.
And apparently, this brain damaged NYCLU exec only thinks only Blacks get shot by the cops.
Yeah, white men and women do get shot and killed by cops.
But apparently, this brain damaged NYCLU executive apparently isn't too smart to figure this out.
(And to prove the stupidity of the article, the writer talks about Blacks being shot and they post a picture of Eric Garner, who died of a choke hold and medical conditions, instead of being shot)

Impeach Him

From the Las Vegas Sun: John Kerry has many titles — secretary of state, former senator, one-time Democratic candidate for president.
After a blizzard dumped two feet of snow on his city this week, Boston Mayor Martin Walsh vowed to crack down on anyone who left the sidewalks in front of their homes and businesses buried in snow.
He wasn't kidding.
On Thursday, officials tagged Kerry with a $50 fine at 9:45 a.m. for failing to clear the snow from the side of his Beacon Hill mansion.  http://www.lasvegassun.com/news/2015/jan/29/john-kerry-fined-50-failing-shovel-snow-outside-ho/
Clearly, if Kerry can't take of his own home by hiring illegals to shovel his walk, then he is unfit for public office.  All someone from Kerry's staff had to do is go down to the local Home Depot and hire some guys.
Makes me wonder what his very rich wife (and how Kerry got rich) was doing when it was snowing?
And didn't their illegal alien butler, housekeeper or groundskeeper know that they had to shovel the snow?
He's just needs to be impeached for this.

RINO "Tax Me" Sandoval At It Again

From the LVRJ: Gov. Brian Sandoval said Thursday that his proposed business license fee to raise $438 million to fund much of his public education agenda would mean lower tax collections than under myriad other tax proposals debated in Nevada over the past dozen years.
“This is our proposal,” he said. “I am going to defend it.”
The proposed fee, based on gross receipts, encompasses all businesses and is as fair and simple as possible, Sandoval said.
All 330,000 Nevada businesses that now pay a $200 annual flat fee would pay more under the variable-fee plan, but how much more would vary greatly.
The Las Vegas Metro Chamber of Commerce said it is looking forward to studying details of the governor’s plan and working on solutions to Nevada’s revenue volatility.  http://www.reviewjournal.com/news/nevada-legislature/gov-sandoval-details-new-business-fee-plan-fund-nevada-education-reform
First, Sandoval assumes that all school districts need the extra money.
CCSD in Las Vegas and area, doesn't need the money- they waste so much money like the excess could fund a small country.
The Washoe School District just fired it's administrator and between the legal fees and the buy out, it cost about $1,000,000 which they apparently had lying around.
Yes, some rural schools may need some money but they could get some from CCSD and their extra money.
Sandoval is a plain old RINO-Republican in name only and he wants to please some of the GOP overlords in hope to become a vice presidential candidate or become a federal judge again, as he is term limited and will leave office after his term is up in a few years.

What A Waste Of Taxpayer Money

So, President Obama is visiting Philadelphia, PA and causing a lot of traffic problems when it was rush hour.
So, who was so important for Obama to fly to Philadelphia to visit and cause a disruption of thousands of people?
From Philly.com:
Obama is in the city to address a conclave of House Democrats at the Society Hill Sheraton.
So, why does Obama have to go Philly along with the rest of the U.S. House Democrats, all who work in Washington D.C.?

Why does Obama have to fly on the 747 Air Force 1, get into his limo, have a large caravan of aides and press and security and disrupt downtown Philly traffic?
The arrogance of this fool and the House Democrats is just unbelievable.

Las Vegas Review Journal Shuts Down Debate

A couple of weeks ago, the LVRJ shut down their comments section on all of their articles.
Their reasoning: Due to an increase in uncivil behavior and dialogue the Review-Journal has temporarily disabled the comment boards. The Review-Journal will use the time to evaluate the effectiveness of the comment boards and find an appropriate time to reintroduce them to reviewjournal.com.
As someone who has read a lot of the comments, there may have been a slight uptick in stupid comments, on both the left and on the right sides of the political debate, but nothing outrageous.
However, there has been a big uptick of comments about the poor job the LVRJ editors and writers have been doing and for good reason.
Some reasons include:
Poor spelling
Poor grammar
Poor editing
Poor reporting
Not giving enough information
Stock photos
Writers putting their spin on straight news articles
The change from a conservative newspaper to a more liberal one
Choice of news articles
Allowing spam commentators to advertise their sell at home products without censorship but would hide or delete comments by legitimate commentators who did nothing wrong.
My guess is that the LVRJ will go turn to Facebook and force people who want to comment to join Facebook, which is a really stupid idea and bad for debates on the different subjects of today.  It forces someone, like myself who does not have a Facebook page, to get one, which I will not do.
So, we will see what the LVRJ and see if they want to have healthy debates or do they want to restrict those who want to debate.

Good For Her

From Fox News:
In the five months since Jan Morgan banned Muslims from her gun range in Hot Springs, Ark., business has boomed and predictions of a lawsuit brought by federal civil rights enforcers have so far proved inaccurate.
Morgan, who claims keeping Muslims out of her Gun Cave Indoor Firing Range is a matter of public safety and not a constitutional issue, says she made the decision in September after two customers she deemed suspicious visited. She said their furtive behavior and cellphone ringtones of “Allahu Akhbar” prompted her to revise her range’s policies.
“We are dealing in lethal firearms,” Morgan told FoxNews.com. “I’m not going to let a Nazi shoot in here, or a Ku Klux Klan member in here, either.”
Morgan said she excludes those she believes to be Muslim based on their names. She says business is up, but she has gotten threats, which she brushed off.
http://www.foxnews.com/us/2015/01/28/gun-range-ban-on-muslims-draws-fire/?intcmp=latestnews
I'm pretty sure this is a publicity stunt on the part of the owner, but she should be allowed to not to allow people who may be dangerous into her shop to shoot or train on guns.
And since there have been plenty of muslim terrorism in the world and the U.S. in the past several years and there has not been a loud outcry by so called moderate Muslims, especially by the muslim terror group, CAIR, she should have every right to do so.

Vote No On Attorney General Nominee

Loretta Lynch, President Obama's nominee to be the top law enforcement officer in the United States seems to be a bright lady and I at first, supported her nomination to be the next Attorney General... until today.
The reason?
Watch the video:

So, the person who wants to be the top law enforcement officer in the United states says that an illegal immigrant has the exact same right to a job as a United States citizen or someone who is a lawful immigrant.
She puts an illegal on equal footing as someone who has lived here all their life, has paid taxes, followed the law and has done everything correct.
That alone should disqualify her to be the top law enforcement officer in the United State.

Deflategate Reminds Me Of Watergate

While it still remains to be seen if the New England Patriots, through the ball boy, may have deflated game footballs for the Patriots in the AFC Championship game against the Indianapolis Colts, it sure reminds me of Watergate.
President Richard Nixon and/or the Republican Party was paranoid about losing to the Democrats in 1972, that they had some stupid burglars rob a hotel room belong to some Democrats before the election and Nixon, mostly, tried to cover it up.  Nixon ended up kicking George McGovern's butt in one of the biggest landslides at the time.
The New England Patriots, even though they were playing at home and were a much better team than the Colts but were paranoid enough to try and have a fool ball boy deflate some footballs when they didn't have to.  The Patriots then went on to kick the Colts butts and they didn't even have to cheat.. if they did actually did, which I suspect they did.
Nixon tried to throw the burglars under the bus and Tom Brady and Bill Belichick will try and throw the ball boy under the bus as well, all while proclaiming their innocence.
Once again, history may be repeating itself.

Another Reason Why Cats Are Evil

From Firehouse.com: A fire suspected to be started by a playful cat wound up doing a large amount of smoke damage to a residence located on the corner of M-25 and Verona Road.
According to Port Austin Fire Chief Don Zimmerman, firefighters were called to the rental home around 4:30 p.m. Friday by a female occupant, who noticed the house filling up with smoke.
"When we got there, you could see smoke coming out of the house a little bit -- mainly out of the basement windows," Zimmerman said.
Zimmerman said firefighters found a pile of stuff in the middle of the unfinished basement -- with a battery-powered musical toy on top of an artificial Christmas tree inside a box. The pile was the only thing that burned. Zimmerman said they believe the woman's cat pushed the button on the toy, triggering a short circuit which led to the fire.  http://www.firehouse.com/news/11818862/port-austin-fire-ignited-by-cat-fire-chief-says
they say the cat was playful but I beg to differ.
No wonder I don't like cats.

Ok, This Is Interesting

From Politifact:
As he moves toward formally entering the 2016 presidential race, Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker is hammering home the notion that Washington needs a "fresh face."
It’s a two-edged critique aimed at potential Republican rivals such as former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, and at Hillary Clinton, the former Democratic senator and first lady who is gearing up for 2016.
The Clinton-Bush era in the nation’s capital is well known -- from 1980 to 2004, Jeb’s father (George H.W. Bush) or brother (George W. Bush) or Bill Clinton won their party’s nomination for president or vice president. Hillary Clinton, of course, nearly made the top of the Democratic ticket in 2008.
But there’s a more sweeping claim making the rounds on social media -- and various websites -- as the 2016 race takes early shape.
This is how Washington Post Wonkblog reporter Matt O’Brien put it:
Republicans haven’t won a presidential election without a Bush or Nixon on the ticket since 1928.
Seems kind of unlikely, doesn’t it?...
The period in question covers 21 presidential elections starting in 1932. Democrats prevailed 12 times; Republicans 9.
The presence of a Bush or Nixon on the ticket turned out to be a boon for Republicans during those eight decades. But it didn’t mean a lock: in two races Republicans fell despite the connection.
Here we go:
Nixon was Dwight Eisenhower’s running mate in 1952 and 1956 and served as vice president. In 1960, Nixon narrowly lost the presidential contest to John F. Kennedy, but returned to win two terms before resigning amid the Watergate scandal in 1974.
George H.W. Bush was Ronald Reagan’s running mate and vice president for two terms, then won the presidency in 1988 before bowing to Bill Clinton in 1992.
Finally, Bush’s son George W. Bush was atop the GOP ticket in 2000 and 2004 before Barack Obama reclaimed the White House for Democrats in 2008 and 2012.
You have to reach back to the GOP team of Herbert Hoover and Native American U.S. Sen. Charles Curtis in 1928 to break the streak. They won in a landslide over Democrats Al Smith and Joseph Robinson, with Socialist Party candidate Norman Thomas getting a smattering of support.  http://www.politifact.com/wisconsin/statements/2015/jan/26/tweets/it-true-republicans-havent-won-presidential-race-1/
So, does that mean I should support Jeb Bush?
Umm, hell no.

Good For Nevada AG, Boo For Governor

From the Las Vegas Sun:
Attorney General Adam Laxalt announced today that Nevada will join a multistate coalition suing President Barack Obama’s contentious deportation deferral program, his first major publicized legal action and one he’s carrying out without the backing of Gov. Brian Sandoval.
But Sandoval has distanced himself from his fellow Republican’s decision to join the suit, which now has the support of GOP officials from 26 states. The lead plaintiff is recently elected Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, who filed the document in December while serving as that state's attorney general.
“Gov. Sandoval’s position on President Obama’s executive order has not changed since his announcement in November. He believes our immigration system is broken and it is without question that comprehensive reform is necessary,” spokeswoman Mari St. Martin said in a prepared statement. “He continues to believe that the best course of action is a legislative solution rather than legal action.”  http://www.lasvegassun.com/news/2015/jan/26/nevada-joins-texas-led-immigration-lawsuit/
Laxalt, who has the support of conservatives in Nevada, did the right thing.
Sandoval, on the other hand, is positioning himself to become the vice president candidate for the GOP establishment candidate- a RINO, whoever it is.
So, good for Laxalt and boos for RINO Sandoval.

Run Scott Run

He would be the best president since Reagan if he doesn't go soft.
From Fox News: Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker said Tuesday that he was "very interested" in a possible run for president on 2016, hours after he announced the launch of a new political committee.
In an interview with Fox News' Sean Hannity, Walker said he was considering a run for the same reason he initially ran for governor of Wisconsin in 2010.
"[My wife and I] were afraid that our sons were growing up in a state that wasn't as great as the one we grew up in," Walker, 47, said." I have the same worries about this country for my sons today that I had for my state many years ago."
Walker, who gave a well-received speech to a forum of conservative voters in Des Moines, Iowa, on Saturday, set up the committee “Our American Revival” on Jan. 16. A new website for the so-called 527 organization, which will help him get his message out as he works toward building his political clout, went live Tuesday morning.
"Our American Revival encompasses the shared values that make our country great," Walker said in a written statement. He called for "limiting the powers of the federal government to those defined in the Constitution while creating a leaner, more efficient, more effective and more accountable government to the American people."  http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2015/01/28/walker-2016-committee/
When Walker was first elected governor of Wisconsin, he took over from a horrible Democrat governor, Jim Doyle.
If he wins the presidency, he would take over from a very horrible president, so he already has experience taking over from horrible politicians.
He has good ideas and is not afraid of a fight, as witnessed in his past several elections where the liberals and Democrats everything, including the kitchen sink and he still kicked their ass.
So, hopefully, Walker will be in for the long haul and if he does, he will be become President Walker.

Irony?

From Omaha.com: A peaceful prayer walk degenerated into shoving and shouting Sunday afternoon, as the weekend shooting deaths of three young people aroused anger, fear and suspicion among some of the participants.
Because of the “mayhem,” Clarice Jackson, the mother of victim Latecia J. Fox, wasn’t able to go to the spot where her daughter’s body lay Saturday morning.
“I wanted to see where my daughter took her last breath,” Jackson said. “When the altercation broke out, I was rushed off in the opposite direction — I didn’t get a chance to see the house.” http://www.omaha.com/news/prayer-walk-for-omaha-slaying-victims-ends-in-shoving-shouting/article_3fb8c9a6-a4df-11e4-81c3-53bc1a84c247.html
The victims of the shootings were Black.
They say Black lives matter, but the thugs who attended this party and witnessed the murders aren't cooperating with the cops.
“There are people around here, people who know exactly what happened,” Willie Barney, president of the Empowerment Network, told the crowd of more than 100 that had gathered at 34th and Parker Streets. “It’s unacceptable ... there is no place for people who take innocent lives in our community. Make the call (to police).”
A police spokeswoman declined Sunday to say whether any witnesses had come forward....
A person familiar with the investigation told The World-Herald that the shootings were the result of a lingering dispute among three sects of the Bloods gang.
Schmaderer said at least four of the men shot and injured are documented gang members.
So, do Black lives really matter?
Apparently not if you are in a gang or live in the inner city and stay quiet after witnessing a murder.

Well, We Hate You Too

From jsonline:
You know presidential campaign season is underway when bands start slamming candidates with opposing political views for using their music.
This time, its Celtic punk band Dropkick Murphys who have a beef with Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (not officially a 2016 presidential candidate yet, but almost certain to be one), after Walker used Murphys' "I'm Shipping Up to Boston" as intro music for his speech at the Iowa Freedom Summit Saturday.
"Please stop using our music in any way .. . we literally hate you !!! Love, Dropkick Murphys" the band wrote in a tweet Saturday.
Of course, the real question is this:
Who the hell is Drop Kick Murpys and what have they ever done??
Other than their families, has anybody ever heard of them?
And the reason why they think they are so important and does anybody care what they think?
Damned if I know.

Moron Of The Night

Leave it to a failed police chief to say this:
From Madison.com:
Former Madison Police Chief David Couper's community approach to law enforcement has been held up as an example to departments around the country before. Couper became the pastor at an Episcopal church near Oconomowoc after retiring from the force in the early 1990s and, while his views on policing have remained part of the discourse in Madison, he has kept a low profile nationally.
That may have changed with a Friday New York Times story.
Samuel G. Freedman, a religion reporter for the Times, quotes from a post titled "The Case for Apology" on Couper's blog:
“In order to restore trust between police and the communities they serve, our nation’s police must collectively apologize. It is what we need today to begin to heal the relationships between blacks and police. It is the only way to move past events of Ferguson, Staten Island, Cleveland and the residual effects we all have inherited from slavery, Jim Crow, and pernicious and residual racial discrimination.”

I lived Madison when this guy fool was police chief and he allowed a lot of Chicago and Milwaukee thugs to move into Madison and commit crimes, and when the thugs caused problems, he made excuses for the thugs- saying how they were so poor, uneducated and that we had to excuse/ignore their behavior.  Because of that, the thug problem has gotten worse and Madison is not this little slice of heaven that Madison liberals would love to believe.
And if anybody has to apologize, it is the thugs who terrorize neighborhoods and people who need to apologize.
Others who need to apologize are those who allow/encourage bad behavior and it starts with mostly liberal politicians (start with Obama/Holder), community activists (start with Jackson/Sharpton) members of the inner city clergy and the tools and fools and thugs who protest and/or riot- they need to apologize for endorsing minority crime on innocent minorities.

Some People Just Don't Learn

You are an NFL football player.
You are extremely talented athletically, though not intellectually.
You make millions of dollars a year.
10's of people love you. (his entourage and his family as long as he pays them)
So, what do you do?
Go out and become a booze hound and a pot head.
From ESPN:
Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon has failed another drug test and now will be subject to a one-year suspension, according to league sources.
Gordon tested positive for alcohol, a source said, confirming a report by Pro Football Talk. The failed test is the latest in a long line of setbacks for Gordon, whose future in Cleveland and the NFL now will be in question.
"Clearly we are very disappointed to hear the latest report regarding Josh," the Browns said in a statement. "At this point, due to the confidential nature of the NFL's substance-abuse policy, we have not been made aware by the league of a failed test. We are in the process of gathering more information and will provide further comment at the appropriate time."
Gordon was arrested on July 5, 2014, and charged with driving while impaired after speeding down a street in Raleigh, North Carolina. Gordon was previously suspended for the first two games of the 2013 season for violating the league's substance-abuse policy.
Gordon ended this season in controversy when, on Dec. 27, he was suspended for the final game of the season for violating team rules. He would have been suspended for all of 2014 were it not for a new drug testing and punishment policy the NFL implemented that allowed him to return after missing the first 10 games.
He entered the NFL after being dismissed from Baylor for a failed marijuana test. Gordon later told the Houston Chronicle: "It was against school policy, of course, and I was [suspended] in the summer. I've definitely put that part of my life behind me. I don't plan to ever go back there. It was a difficult time, but I learned from it, and I've moved on."
http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/12226738/josh-gordon-cleveland-browns-facing-one-year-suspension-failing-another-drug-test
If he learned from it, he must come from an inner city high school run by liberals, where learning is secondary.

What Did You Expect Him To Say?

Stupid headline of the night from the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel:
Jimmy Nelson says he's ready to succeed as Brewers starter
http://www.jsonline.com/sports/brewers/jimmy-nelson-says-hes-ready-to-succeed-as-brewers-starter-b99432381z1-289742001.html
What did you think he would say- that he was ready to fail?
Basic journalism is sure going downhill fast.

My Guess: Gunshot Wound

From the Las Vegas Sun:
A man whose body was found in a North Las Vegas drainage ditch earlier this month has been identified as 18-year-old Hussein Abdelgilil, according to the Clark County Coroner's Office.
The official cause and manner of Abdelgilil's death has not been released and is pending a toxicology report and a police investigation, the Coroner's Office said.  http://www.lasvegassun.com/news/2015/jan/25/man-found-north-las-vegas-drainage-ditch-identifie/
My money is that the guy died of a gunshot wound.

More Green Energy Failure

More evidence that green energy is pretty much useless, except to raise costs.
From Fox News:
An ambitious and controversial push to erect America's first offshore wind farm has been dealt what some call a potentially "fatal" blow after two utility companies pulled out of commitments to buy energy from the lagging operation.
The $2.6 billion Cape Wind project, a private operation benefiting from millions in federal subsidies, is attempting to pioneer offshore wind energy in pursuit of an eco-friendly, sustainable energy supply. Wind turbines would be installed off the coast of Massachusetts' Cape Cod in Nantucket Sound.
But Cape Wind is now in limbo after utility companies terminated huge purchase agreements. They pulled out after the project failed to meet two requirements by Dec. 31: to secure financing and begin construction.
The wind farm was relying on NSTAR and National Grid to purchase a combined 77.5 percent of its offshore wind power.
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2015/01/23/america-first-offshore-wind-project-dealt-major-setback-after-utilities-bolt/
If I remember right, the Kennedy family didn't want this to be built, using the NIMBY excuse.
But in retrospect, the Kennedy's may saw that this green energy project was going to be a green failure.
Nah, they weren't that smart.

Personal

I appreciate everyone who comes to read this blog.
This next couple of weeks will be difficult as my wife is back in the hospital, facing some serious surgery at a hospital in Las Vegas.
Meanwhile, here in Kingman, I go to work and am with my kids, while also going back and forth to Vegas, a 100 mile 1 way drive..
So, if I miss some blogging, that will be the main reason.
Thanks

No Wonder They Didn't Call An Ambulance

You can't make this up.
From the LVRJ: The violent accident that has threatened Sen. Harry Reid’s vision and marked the first few weeks of his tenure as Senate minority leader took place in the bathroom of his home.
Reid’s office declined to comment on an online report in Politico that he was exercising in the bathroom of his new home in Henderson on New Year’s Day when a heavy resistance band attached to the door of the shower snapped back at him.
The previously unreported detail independently confirmed by the Review-Journal fills in an account of how the Nevada Democrat suffered broken bones around his right eye, and four broken ribs, injuries that forced him to work from home after Congress reconvened on Jan. 6.
Reid spokeswoman Kristen Orthman said there was “nothing to add or comment” on the Politico story, which also reported on Reid’s efforts to wield authority as a Senate leader while largely confined to his Washington condo at the Ritz Carlton.
http://www.reviewjournal.com/news/nevada/reid-workout-accident-happened-his-bathroom
Ok, quick quiz: How many people do you know have an exercise machine in their bathroom?
So, I am calling BS on that Reid was hurt by an exercise machine and instead a more likely reason Reid got hurt is that he fell and fell hard and they made up the story about Reid exercising.
And that is why the U.S. Senate Police, Reid's body guards, piled him into their SUV's and took him to the hospital instead of doing the more reasonable thing, like calling for an ambulance.
And that is why I wrote this: http://lasvegasbadger.blogspot.com/2015/01/reid-in-hospital-what-is-he-hiding.html

Obama/Reid Judge Wants To Free FBI Agent Killer

This what happens when you allow liberals to run government.
From the LVRJ:
Nevada Attorney General Adam Laxalt said Friday that his office has appealed a federal judge’s decision that could result in the release of a death row inmate convicted of killing an FBI agent.
The inmate, Jose L. Echavarria, was convicted in Clark County District Court in the 1990 of the shooting death of FBI Agent John Bailey in a Las Vegas bank. The local FBI building is named for Bailey, a widely known and highly regarded federal agent.
Bailey happened to be in a Security Pacific Bank branch on FBI business on June 25, 1990, when a man disguised as a woman — later identified as Echavarria — pulled a gun on a teller, according to court documents. Bailey scuffled with the robber and was fatally shot.
Echavarria was arrested in Juarez, Mexico, the next day and returned to Las Vegas to face charges in Bailey’s death.
In a 57-page decision filed in Reno on Jan. 16, U.S. District Judge Miranda Du found that Echavarria had gotten an unfair trial because of alleged bias on the part of the presiding district judge in Las Vegas, Jack Lehman, who has since retired.
Echavarria and his lawyers argued they learned after the trial that Bailey had investigated Lehman several years earlier over a questionable land deal when he was a member of the Colorado River Commission.
“The evidence submitted by the Echavarria shows, beyond any dispute, that Agent Bailey had been centrally involved in conducting the investigation of the trial judge and that the alleged fraud and the FBI investigation were of such significance that they would have had serious implications for the trial judge,” Du wrote.  http://www.reviewjournal.com/news/las-vegas/bias-finding-prompts-new-trial-vegas-fbi-agent-murder
Du was nominated by Senile/Coward/Clumsy/Liar Harry Reid and President Obama.
This killer thug was convicted 24 years ago and now this liberal judge decides now is a good time to retry the murdering thug.  And this liberal judge knows this will be almost impossible because of the length of time after the murder.
And this is what happens when you elect liberals.

2 Years To Get Of Isis In Iraq

Well, it's going to take a long time to get Isis out of  Iraq.
From the Arabnews: Top officials from 21 countries kicked off talks in London on Thursday on pushing back Islamic State (IS) militants in Iraq and Syria and tackling the growing threat of homegrown militants in Europe.
British Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond said before the meeting that the task of pushing the IS militants back would be slow.
“This isn’t going to be done in three months or six months. It’s going to take a year, two years to push ISIL (IS) back out of Iraq but we are doing the things that need to be done in order to turn the tide,” Hammond told Sky News.
  http://www.arabnews.com/world/news/693391
Umm, ok.  Not too many people know it's going to last that long.
And that's just Iraq.
What about the other countries?
Will Obama have the stomach to last that long?
And what kind of mess will Obama leave for the next president?

Jeff Gordon To Retire

My son, who is one of the biggest Jeff Gordon fans, was extremely upset when he found out that Gordon is going to retire after this season.
From ESPN: Four-time NASCAR Sprint Cup champion Jeff Gordon announced Thursday that the 2015 season will be his last as a full-time driver.
"As a race car driver, much of what I've done throughout my life has been based on following my instincts and trying to make good decisions," Gordon said in a release. "I thought long and hard about my future this past year and during the offseason, and I've decided 2015 will be the last time I compete for a championship.
"I won't use the 'R-word,' because I plan to stay extremely busy in the years ahead, and there's always the possibility I'll compete in selected events, although I currently have no plans to do that."
Gordon told The Associated Press that he decided midway through 2014 that this upcoming season would be his last. He delayed the announcement until Thursday, when he first told his two young children at home in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Gordon says that's when his decision became a reality, and he broke down in tears. He said he continued sobbing the entire 30-minute drive to Hendrick Motorsports, and again lost his composure as he informed his team and longtime employees.
Gordon has 92 career Sprint Cup wins -- third all-time behind Hall of Fame drivers Richard Petty (200) and David Pearson (105). -- and championships in 1995, 1997, 1998 and 2001. He has spent his entire 23-year career in the No. 24 car with Hendrick Motorsports.  http://espn.go.com/racing/nascar/cup/story/_/id/12210437/jeff-gordon-announces-2015-nascar-sprint-cup-season-last
Gordon is a NASCAR icon, who is loved by some, hated by others but it can not be argued that he was one of the best.

Finally, Common Sense Education Politician

Finally, some common sense about proficiency testing.
From the Arizona Republic:
The Arizona schools chief called the state of education "poor" and called for a review of the academic standards — as she promised when she was running for the job.
Diane Douglas, in her first "state of education" speech as the newly elected superintendent of public instruction, blasted Arizona's College and Career Ready Standards as a "de facto federal mandate."...
In her speech, Douglas also said the new statewide assessment, AzMerit, is "unproven and inaptly named" and was hastily chosen.
The Arizona State Board of Education selected that test in November and it will be given to students this spring. The test, Arizona's Measurement of Educational Readiness to Inform Teaching, replaces the AIMS test.
"Once again, our precious children are being used as guinea pigs to advance some education agendas," she said in her remarks to the House Education Committee.  http://www.azcentral.com/story/news/arizona/politics/2015/01/21/douglas-first-speech-vows-review-academic-standards/22127905/
She is absolutely correct.
This Arizona test is pure stupidity.
The test is computer based and yet many schools don't have enough computers to run the test.
As a special education teacher, this test is a nightmare for special education students.
And now, most, if not all schools in Arizona are trying to teach to this new test instead of focusing on overall academics.
Why?
Because teachers and administrators jobs and evaluations are on the line for this test.
Pure stupidity.

Not Very Surprising

Well, well, well, it looks like the liberal racist of the U.S. Department of Justice couldn't find any credible evidence to charge police officer Darren Wilson of Ferguson MO. fame for shooting the thug Michael Brown.
From the liberal NY Times:  Justice Department lawyers will recommend that no civil rights charges be brought against the police officer who fatally shot an unarmed teenager in Ferguson, Mo., after an F.B.I. investigation found no evidence to support charges, law enforcement officials said Wednesday.
Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. and his civil rights chief, Vanita Gupta, will have the final say on whether the Justice Department will close the case against the officer, Darren Wilson. But it would be unusual for them to overrule the prosecutors on the case, who are still working on a legal memo explaining their recommendation.
A decision by the Justice Department would bring an end to the politically charged investigation of Mr. Wilson in the death of 18-year-old Michael Brown. The Missouri authorities concluded their investigation into Mr. Brown’s death in November and also recommended against charges.
http://www.nytimes.com/2015/01/22/us/justice-department-ferguson-civil-rights-darren-wilson.html?_r=0
It should not be surprising that Wilson will not be charged in Federal Courts as he did nothing wrong and the thug tried to kill Wilson after he had just robbed a store and assaulted the owner, all while he was high on pot.
So now, I wonder if the thugs and fools and tools rioting and protesting will burn down what's left of Ferguson?

Important News Of The Day: Ball Gate

Yeah, some moron gave a speech today and then was refuted by another moron.  Who cares?
The real news of the day is that the New England Patriots may have cheated to win their conference championship game against the Indianapolis Colts.
From ESPN: The NFL has found that 11 of 12 of the New England Patriots game balls were inflated significantly less than the NFL requires, league sources involved and familiar with the investigation of Sunday's AFC championship game told ESPN.
The investigation found the footballs were underinflated by 2 pounds per square inch of air less than what's required by NFL regulations during the Pats' 45-7 victory over the Indianapolis Colts, according to sources.
"We are not commenting at this time," said Greg Aiello, the NFL's senior vice president of communications.
Troy Vincent, the league's senior executive vice president of football operations, told ProFootballTalk.com earlier Tuesday that the NFL expected to wrap up its investigation in "two or three days."
Yet to be determined is what, if any, penalties may be imposed upon Patriots. One source described the league as "disappointed ... angry ... distraught," after spending considerable time on the findings earlier Tuesday.
Part of the investigation that still needs further vetting is how the 11 footballs became underinflated.
The game balls provided to each team for preparation were required to be inspected and approved by referee Walt Anderson two hours and 15 minutes before kickoff before they were returned to a ball attendant before the game.
No alteration of footballs is allowed once they are approved, under league rules and regulations.
The balls are required be inflated between 12.5 and 13.5 pounds per square inch and weigh between 14 and 15 ounces.  http://espn.go.com/boston/story/_/id/12202450/nfl-says-new-england-patriots-had-inflated-footballs-afc-championship-game#comments
A lot of questions still need to be answered.
For instance, did the footballs used by the Colts also lose weight?
If the balls were purposefully inflated, who did it?
How come the referees didn't notice?
But if the Patriots are shown to have cheated, what punishment should the Patriots receive?
A huge fine?  Loss of draft picks?  Maybe but that won't be much of a deterrent.
Suspend their coach, Bill Belichick?  The NFL suspended Sean Payton for a year a couple of years ago when there was a bounty put on opposing players.  The NFL could do this to Belichick.
Whatever happens, this is still more important than a bunch of morons in Washington D.C. giving speeches.

Another Obama Fail

From the Washington Times:
The failure of two Marine Corps officers to to pass the Jan. 8 first-day Combat Endurance Test of the infantry officer course brings the tally of female dropouts to 26.
One more group of female officers will have a shot at graduation before the Marine Corps completes its integration experiment in June. The next IOC program begins in April.
Military Times reported Friday that of the current IOC class, 15 men out of a class of 118 were forced to drop the course.
Opportunities for female enlisted Marines to cycle through Infantry Training Battalion for seven MOS-specific ground combat training programs will also end soon, the newspaper reported. Marine Corps statistics show that out of 240 volunteers, 106 were successful.
Marine Corps officials will look at all the results of the integration experiment in June and then offer their recommendations to the defense secretary by the end of 2015, Military Times reported.
Read more: http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2015/jan/16/26-female-marines-drop-out-of-infantry-officer-cou/#ixzz3PKgGXAzQ
First, thank you to the Marine Corp for not dumbing down the course just to get females to pass the test.
But the Obama brown shirts so wanted to show that females were equal to men when it comes to front line infantry officers and they were shown that just isn't the case.
That's not to say that women should not be allowed into combat roles in the military.
But this shows that women just are not cut out to be front line infantry Mare Corp officers.
And this is not to disparage any of the females who tried out for the course- they could kick ass on 95% of the men in the United States but the Marines want people who can kick ass 100% of the time.

Those Crazy Democrats And Liberal Media

Someone + a newspaper might be getting slapped with a defamation lawsuit soon.
From the NY Daily News: She won’t have her bedding with her, but a Columbia University senior who carries a mattress on campus to raise awareness about college rape will bring her message when she joins Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand at the State of the Union address.
Emma Sulkowicz’s presence Tuesday will be a sharp message to President Obama and Gillibrand’s fellow lawmakers, who she is pushing to back bipartisan legislation requiring colleges to strengthen policies against sexual assault at colleges.
Obama is expected to tout a plan to offer all Americans two years of free community college. Gillibrand supports the proposal, but the New York Democrat says Washington should work to make college safe, not just cheap.
“I hope he will also talk about working with our bipartisan coalition in Congress to make campuses safer, too,” she said. “I hope the President will seize this opportunity to shine a national spotlight on the need to flip the incentives that currently reward colleges for sweeping sexual assaults under the rug.”
Gillibrand told the Daily News she pressed Obama on the issue last week when he met with Senate Democrats at their annual retreat. She urged him to help pass the college sexual assault bill and to mention the issue Tuesday.
Sulkowicz, 22, says she was raped in her dorm room in August 2012. She filed a complaint with the school against Paul Nungesser (no one) in April 2013, saying he attacked her during an initially consensual encounter. Nungesser has said the sex was consensual.
Sulkowicz has said embarrassment and shame delayed her response, but she made her report after meeting two women who said Nungesser assaulted them.
Columbia eventually found him “not responsible” in all three incidents. Sulkowicz told her story publicly for the first time in an April press conference with Gillibrand.  http://www.nydailynews.com/news/politics/city-student-joins-sen-gillibrand-state-union-article-1.2082851
So, you bat shit crazy senator who brings to the senate a bat shit crazy who files such a horrible rape accusation that no one believes her, including the liberals at Columbia University.
And her accusation was so unbelievable that the cops didn't attempt to file charges against the real victim in the case, Nungesser.
So, with all this information The NY Daily News still publishes the guy's name and the bat shit crazy senator is still going to bring this bat shit crazy liar to the senate.
No wonder democrats have no creditability.

Give Him A Face Tattoo And He Would Look Like Tyson

This is a picture of tiger Woods, who supposedly had his tooth knocked out by a camera.
From the NY Daily News: Tiger Woods was there, but something was missing.
While cheering on girlfriend Lindsey Vonn in her record-breaking 63rd Alpine racing win, Woods barely cracked a smile. Perhaps that was a calculated move, seeing as how Woods was clearly missing one of his two front teeth.
Woods’ agent, Mark Steinberg, told The Associated Press that Woods was hit in the face by a shoulder-mounted video camera, knocking the tooth out. Steinberg explained that during a crush of photographers at the awards podium, the cameraman surged toward the stage, turned and hit Woods in the mouth.
A source close to Woods, however, tells a slightly different story.
“I know it has been discolored so he is probably just getting it fixed,” said a friend. “I think he is just in the middle of having it replaced and this was an unplanned trip.”
Woods wore a skeleton mask to cover his face Monday in Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy, Monday where temps were in the mid-30s. But when he pulled down the mask, the gap in his grill was on display.
http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/more-sports/tiger-woods-missing-front-tooth-article-1.2083807
If the Wood's source is true, it must be nice to take out a tooth and have it cleaned at the tooth cleaners.  Silly me, I always brush my teeth 2 times a day, though I don't go to the dentist.
The reason I don't go to the dentist?
About 10 years ago, a dentist was drilling out a cavity and the drill slipped and the drill went into my tongue.  I couldn't taste for about 9 months.
The last time I went to the dentist, about 3 years ago, another cavity that was being drilled and the dentist did  horrible job filling the cavity that the very strong narcotic pain killers couldn't touch and I had to go back 2 times to the dentist to have the fillings filed down properly.
But I digress.
If you put a face tattoo on Woods, he looks just like Mike Tyson.

Wisconsin's ACT 10 Coming To Nevada

Scott Walker is a leader and now Nevada is following in Wisconsin and Scott Walker's big footprints.
From the Las Vegas Sun: Rank-and-file teachers may applaud Gov. Brian Sandoval’s promise to pour more funds into education, but any celebration may be muted by another pledge: He said he wants to get rid of collective bargaining.
Sandoval provided no details in his State of the State address Thursday night, but even the hint that unions are in his sights is likely to ignite a partisan debate about teacher unions in the coming Legislature.
State law allows for collective bargaining in negotiations between employee groups and local governments, including school districts and municipalities. State employees are not authorized to organize.
Sandoval’s legislation would likely focus on eliminating collective bargaining in local governments, which he tried to do four years ago. For decades, conservatives have criticized collective bargaining — which is used in negotiating pay raises, benefits, working conditions and other issues — as increasing the cost of education.
In 2011, the Democratic-controlled Legislature didn’t advance Sandoval’s bills to kill collective bargaining. But with Republicans now in control of both chambers, Sandoval was applauded Thursday night for his proposals....
Union leaders applauded Sandoval’s promise to increase school funding but recoiled at the thought of losing collective bargaining.  http://www.lasvegassun.com/news/2015/jan/17/sandovals-give-and-take-more-money-schools-collect/
Walker shows once again that he is a leader, by having other states copying what Wisconsin has done.

Well, I Am 0-8 In Watching Cancelled TV Shows

Some people are crying that about 8 TV shows are going belly up and have been cancelled.
From Philly.com:
They should probably get Tchaikovsky to compose the theme song for this TV season because so many shows will be making their swan songs in the next few months.
On Tuesday, Timothy Olyphant will set his Stetson for his last roundup as Deputy U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens on FX's Justified.
Later this month, we'll bid the Bravermans goodbye as Parenthood finishes up its run after six touch-and-go seasons.
In February, it will be lights out for The Mentalist and Two and a Half Men on CBS. NBC will also be shuttering Pawnee, Ind., next month as the plucky Parks and Recreation draws to a close.
Glee, saddled with the indignity of exile to TV's Friday-night ghetto in its last season, bites the dust in March. Cougar Town bows out on April Fool's Day.
And we've already been served the last suppers of Boardwalk Empire, Sons of Anarchy, and The Newsroom this season.
Perhaps the toughest loss will be the supernal Mad Men, which resumes its bifurcated seventh season on April 5 and ends after seven episodes on May 17.
The remarkable facet of this mass series die-off is that we have so much advance warning. It didn't used to be this way. In the old days, you'd find out your show had been canceled because your parking privileges at the studio had been revoked. "Sorry, Mr. Van Dyke, your name's not on the list."
Read more at http://www.philly.com/philly/entertainment/20150118_Long-running_series_queue_up_finales.html#jJFToWCYO1b2ibdB.99
The only prime time, major channel TV shows I watch is COPS, Chicago Fire, Big Bang Theory, Family Guy and The Simpsons.
Everything else is junk to me.

9/11 Terrorist Attack Still Killing

From the Officer Down Memorial Page:
Deputy Chief Steven Bonano died from blood cancer he contracted after inhaling toxic materials as he participated in the rescue and recovery efforts at the World Trade Center site following the terrorist attacks on September 11th, 2001.
Chief Bonano, who was assigned as the commander of the Emergency Service Unit at the time of the attack, responded to the World Trade Center following the attack and worked at the scene for several months.
Chief Bonano served with the New York City Police Department for 30 years and had previously served with the United States Navy. During his time with the New York City Police Department, Chief Bonano was awarded the Police Combat Cross, the department's second highest medal, earned his pilot's license and a Master's degree from Harvard University.
On the morning of September 11, 2001, seventy-two officers from a total of eight local, state, and federal agencies were killed when terrorist hijackers working for the al Qaeda terrorist network, headed by Osama bin Laden, crashed two of four hijacked planes into the World Trade Center towers in New York City. After the impact of the first plane, putting the safety of others before their own, law enforcement officers along with fire and EMS personnel, rushed to the burning Twin Towers of the World Trade Center to aid the victims and lead them to safety. Due to their quick actions, it is estimated that over 25,000 people were saved.Read more: http://www.odmp.org/officer/22341-deputy-chief-steven-bonano#ixzz3PF6fF6hY
Even though 9/11 occurred over 13 years ago, the muslim terrorist attack is still killing people.
RIP Chief and prayers to your family, friends and to members of the NYPD.

Darwin Award Nominee

From NY Daily News: Fitness instructor and Bravo star Greg Plitt died Saturday after being hit by a Metrolink train in Burbank, Calif., authorities said. He was 37.
The fatal collision occurred around 4 p.m. on the tracks just north of the station, KABC reported.
Plitt was with friends who were filming something during the incident and police said his death appears to have been an accident.
A passenger told that station that Plitt was dressed in black at the time.
The train went by. I saw him stumble over the tracks. He had a camcorder in his hand,” the witness said.
Fitness model Jamie Eason wrote on Facebook that Plitt was "filming a spot for his protein shake" when he was struck and killed.
Plitt, a former U.S. Army Ranger and Calvin Klein model, appeared on the Bravo reality show “Work Out” and stars in the network’s new “Friends to Lovers” series. He was also featured on “Days of Our Lives” and has appeared in a number of commercials.  http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/greg-plitt-actor-fitness-instructor-dead-37-article-1.2083084
Just wondering what the guy's last words were when first saw the train 2 feet in front of him... like "Awww crap".

Green Bay Packers: WTF???

This afternoon, as I left the house to go to work, the Green Bay Packers had a 12 point lead, had the ball and looked like they were going to win easily.
By the time I got to work, 8 minutes later, the Packers were trailing and ended up losing in overtime.
From ESPN: Never doubt the resilience of the Seattle Seahawks.
Plagued by turnovers and outplayed much of Sunday by Green Bay, the Seahawks staged an improbable comeback and beat the Packers 28-22 in overtime. Russell Wilson, who struggled until the final minutes, hit Jermaine Kearse for a 35-yard touchdown 3:19 into the extra period to end the game.
Seattle (14-4) trailed 19-7 with about four minutes remaining and had been ineffective on offense all game. Wilson finally put a drive together with passes to Doug Baldwin and Marshawn Lynch -- initially ruled a touchdown but called back because he stepped out of bounds. Wilson finished with a 1-yard scoring run to cut the lead to 19-14 with 2:09 left.
The onside kick went high to Packers tight end Brandon Bostick, but he couldn't gather it, and Seattle's Chris Matthews recovered at the 50. The crowd, which had been quiet since falling behind 16-0, came alive and Lynch sped and powered his way to a 24-yard TD run. On the 2-point conversion, Wilson -- about to be sacked -- threw a desperate pass hauled in by Luke Willson to make it 22-19 with 1:25 remaining.
Aaron Rodgers, limping on an injured calf, calmly led the Packers (13-5) down the field to set up Mason Crosby's fifth field goal, a 48-yarder with 14 seconds to go to force overtime.
Then Wilson and Kearse struck, with Kearse -- the target on all four of Wilson's interceptions -- beating Tramon Williams on the winning pass. Kearse caught the winning score in last year's conference title win over San Francisco, too.  http://scores.espn.go.com/nfl/recap?gameId=400749519
As my wife was feeding me the information, my first thought was she was pulling a joke on me and then I felt anger towards the Packers.  I then wondered if any Packer players or coaches were bought.  Yeah,  I am looking at A.J. Hawk, Aaron rodgers and Brandon Bostick along with coaches Dom Capers and Mike McCarthy.
A.J. Hawk completely blew his coverage on the fake field goal attempt that turned into a touchdown.  Even a middle school football player knows you never leave a potential receiver on a field goal go uncovered, which Hawk did.
Rodgers, after Richard Sherman got hurt, did not go after Sherman after Sherman got into the game.  Why?  Sherman was essentially playing with 1 arm and Rodgers didn't go after him right after he got hurt.
Bostick screwed up the on-side kick by not letting Jordy Nelson get the ball on the onside kick.
Capers defense allowed 2 touchdowns within a couple of minutes of each other at the end of the game.  Why?
McCarthy, refused to go after Sherman immediately after he was hurt and his team allowed 3 touchdowns at the very end of the game.
So, in my anger, I thought a player or coach was paid off to throw the game.
But in the end, the Seattle Seahawks wanted to win more, outplayed the Packers when it mattered the most- at the end of the game and Seattle was outcoached when it mattered most.
Yes, this is just a football game, but this is not Pee Wee football, this is football where you supposedly have the best of the best players and coaches in the world and you have cheered for your team going on for 50 years.
So, yes, this Packer game hurts, especially since they should have won the game except for some horrible play down the stretch.
But at least I do have some comfort: I am not a Chicago Bears fan.
