Operation Repo It Ain't

Tonight, around 11:15, around Broadbent and near Russell, we saw a auto repo and it was nothing like you see in Operation Repo.
We were returning from the dog park when we saw a tow truck starting to lower it's boom (I guess that's what it's called). So we thought we were witnessing a repo, so we turned the car around. The driver was good. He turned down the side street, picked up the SUV and left in about 20 seconds. That's not how they do it on Operation Repo.
That or we watched a really good car thief.

Government Health Care At Work

From CNN: (CNN) -- "A Missouri VA hospital is under fire because it may have exposed more than 1,800 veterans to life-threatening diseases such as hepatitis and HIV.
John Cochran VA Medical Center in St. Louis has recently mailed letters to 1,812 veterans telling them they could contract hepatitis B, hepatitis C and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) after visiting the medical center for dental work, said Rep. Russ Carnahan.
Carnahan said Tuesday he is calling for a investigation into the issue and has sent a letter to President Obama about it." http://www.cnn.com/2010/US/06/30/va.hospital.hiv/index.html

Liberals like to think government can do things better than the private sector. The liberals also think the government can run health care better than private secotor.
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2006/12/08/eveningnews/main2243606.shtml
http://www.marketwatch.com/story/its-hard-to-top-veterans-health-care-2010-06-02
It's not the only time a VA Hospital has been in trouble with cleaning equipment, increasing the chance of passing on an infection: In June, Palomar Hospital in San Diego, California, has sent certified letters to 3,400 patients who underwent colonoscopy and other similar procedures, informing the patients that there may be a potential of infection from items used and reused in the procedures
http://www.cnn.com/2010/US/06/30/va.hospital.hiv/index.html
This is not to say that the private does not have it's share of problems- it does. See the Hepatitis C scandal in Las Vegas. But the government run health care seems to have major problems as well. But to the liberals out there, please spare us that government run health care is superior to private sector health care.

A Tale Of Two Campaigns Heck vs Titus And 4th Of July

On July 3rd, Boulder city is holding their Damboree. Both Dr. Joe Heck and Dina Titus will march in the parade as other politicians will probably do.
Dr. Heck is going to build a float: "Make sure you mark your calendar for this Saturday’s 4th of July “Damboree Celebration” in Boulder City! We are recruiting volunteers to meet at 8am to help decorate the float, and walk with Team Heck in the parade on Saturday morning; RSVP HERE if you can join us in Boulder City! This will be a great kick-off to a fantastic weekend packed with fireworks, festivities, family and friends all coming together to celebrate this great Nation and the principals upon which it was founded. I can think of no better way to spend my 4th of July weekend than to be surrounded by fellow conservatives and patriots as we look toward November and focus on our task of taking back southern Nevada. I hope you can join me during this special weekend in celebration of The United States of America."
From a letter from Heck to his supporters. And his supporters won't be charged to buy a T-shirt.

Dina Titus, on the other hand, uses the event to raise money: https://services.myngp.com/ngponlineservices/Event.aspx?Y=FrZ0S4jyDpUKTu8DWevtiQRxVWyYqR%2feew4h1vI6NQlGUW2cqtFyvg%3d%3d
If you just want to walk with Titus, you don't have to buy a T-shirt.
But if you want to buy a T-shirt, you will have to fork over $10. $10 for a T-shirt? Nope it costs a whole lot less to buy T-shirts in bulk, so let's do some fund raising at a 4th Of July parade. Besides, shouldn't Titus be giving those T-shirts away for free?

Sun Hypocrisy: Like Shooting Fish In A Barrel

The Las Vegas Sun, Harry and No First Name Reid campaign spokespeople have a new blog on their website. It's called the "The Damon Political Report". It's a pro Harry and No First Name Reid and an anti GOP blog. Fair enough. Everyone knows that the Sun political writers have no ethics, are poor writers and are liars (specifically Ralston).
But when it comes to comments, they have two standards. If it is a general political story, then you have to sign up for Facebook in order to comment. But on the political blogs, any one can comment and since their blogs and pro Harry and No First Name Reid and anti GOP, you get all the wing nuts coming out. And of course, you can never comment on Brian Greenspun editorials.
But wait, it gets better. Anjeanette Damon is both a political reporter and the blogger of the liberal blog. How can anyone take Damon seriously in her political articles when she doesn't even hide her distaste of conservatives. Wow, just wow. But the Sun is so blinded in ther ideology, they don't even see what is wrong with this.
So, like everything else at the Las Vegas Sun, hypocrisy is king at the Las Vegas Sun.

Update: Democrats Play With American Jobs

On Saturday, The Import-Export bank, run by Obama and his ilk, decided to deny a loan that would have built an coal fired electric plant in India and Bucyrus International Inc. would have supplied mining equipment for the project. Because it was not a green energy project the Import-Export Bank denied the loan and it would have cost Bucyrus about 1000 jobs.
Today, from jsonline, the bank reversed their decision, sort of.
According jsonline: "The U.S. Export-Import Bank has agreed to reverse a decision to deny $600 million in loan guarantees for mining equipment that would be manufactured in the U.S. for a coal mine in India, saving up to 1,000 jobs, Sen. Herb Kohl (D-Wis.) said Wednesday."
But: Kohl said the bank would support the loan guarantees provided that the Indian borrower, Reliance Power Ltd., moves ahead with renewable energy projects that also could use U.S. made equipment....The Export-Import Bank offer calls for Reliance to build renewable energy plants, producing at least 250 megawatts of electricity, which are expected to produce no carbon emissions.
In the U.S., that amount of power would meet the electricity needs of roughly 85,000 homes.
It's still unknown whether Reliance will agree to the terms, but Kohl said the offer was encouraging. http://www.jsonline.com/business/97484379.html

Of course, this is announced the day that Obama visits Southeast Wisconsin to talk about jobs.
Obama has done this in Nevada as well. When Obama last came to Las Vegas, he came bearing gifts in the form foreclosure help. This is standard operating procedure for Obama. It's all about him- he saves the day when he comes bearing gifts. This decision could have come another day, like yesterday, but they waited for Obama to come to town.
Narcissist.

Son Of Randall Cunnigham Dies Drowns in Hot Tub

Former NFL All-Pro, Randall Cunningham suffered the worst loss in his life when his 2 1/2 year old son drowned in a hot tub this afternoon.
From the LVRJ: "...news spread about the death of Randall Cunningham's 2½-year-old son. Cunningham, the former UNLV and NFL star quarterback, is pastor of Remnant Ministries....Christian Cunningham, who would have been 3 in December, died after being found floating in the backyard hot tub, according to friends of the family. Randall Cunningham performs baptisms in the hot tub at his home, which is near the church." http://www.lvrj.com/sports/son-of-ex-rebel-drowns-97458929.html
Cunningham, who is a preacher and volunteer football coach at Silverado H.S., has to be suffering horribly. Please keep the Cunningham family in your prayers. They have given a lot to the Las Vegas community and now it is time for the Las Vegas community to support them.

Harry Reid: Are You An Honest Person?

The very desperate Harry Reid is lying again. (hey Jon Ralston, why don't you analyze this commercial. But since you are a liar weasel liberal, I know you won't)
Harry Reid accuses Sharron Angle of comparing Social Security to welfare in the below advertisement. But in reality, it was Sharron's father that said Social security was equal to welfare. And Sharron Angle's Father is not the only senior citizen who believes this.

Oh, Harry Reid, you approved of this lie? Why are you so desperate? Why are you lying, Harry Reid? Why, Harry Reid, Senate Majority Leader, why do you stoop so low that you have to air false advertising? Harry Reid, are you an honest person? Does your wife and family approve of your lying? Does the Mormon Church approve of your lying? Just wondering.

New Addition To The Family

This is Brody after a long first day with our family.
Brody was abandoned in a foreclosed house in the Overton area and was found by a family that could not keep him.
We adopted him today and he already has made himself at home on our bed. He is part Border Collie and Akita.
Now we have 2 dogs, 3 guinea pigs, 1 rabbit and 2 kids. We got our hands full.

Sad Day For Liberals

Ohh, the liberals are going to be soo pissed. Here they thought they had a chance in many races based on their polls. But it turns out their polling company, like many liberals and liberal organizations, are frauds.
From Politico: "We contracted with Research 2000 to conduct polling and to provide us with the results of their surveys. Based on the report of the statisticians, it's clear that we did not get what we paid for. We were defrauded by Research 2000, and while we don't know if some or all of the data was fabricated or manipulated beyond recognition, we know we can't trust it. Meanwhile, Research 2000 has refused to offer any explanation." http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/0610/Markos_charges_polling_fraud.html
This quote is from the head of the daily Kos, Markos Moulitsas.
This really sucks for Harry Reid is that Real Clear Politics uses the Research 2000 in their averaging and they had Reid up by 6% while all the other polls had Reid down by 6 or more points. This really has to hurt Reid and his supporters. Couldn't have happen to a nicer group of people.

A Very Bad Week For Police Officers

So, far this week, it has been a very week for police officers as 9 police officers have been killed in the line of duty around the country. This includes 2 police officers who were killed in Tampa this morning and 3 officers from the California Highway Patrol during the past 7 days.
Being a police officer is a very dangerous job, whether is dealing with murderous thugs or making routine traffic stops only to find themselves facing another car that is unable maintain control because the driver is impaired.
For more information on these officers and other, please go to The Officer Down Memorial Page: http://odmp.org/

It May Just Be Me But...

"Eight of 10 were arrested Sunday for allegedly carrying out long-term, deep cover assignments in the United States on behalf of Russia.
Two others were arrested for allegedly participating in the same Russian intelligence program within the United States.
Their job, according to the court papers in the case, was "to search and develop ties in policymaking circles" in the United States. "
Read more: http://www.nydailynews.com/news/ny_crime/2010/06/28/2010-06-28_us_federal_agents_arrest_10_russian_intelligence_officers_accused_of_being_russi.html#ixzz0sEcg9gkB

Maybe it's me, but once Obama was elected, the spies did not need to develop ties to policymaking circles. They already had them in Obama and his administration. Not to mention, they already had policymakers in Congress who are sympathetic to the Russians and their view of government.

An Oldie But A Goodie

Now, all you have to add is Gen. McCrystal, BP, union workers, people and critters in the Gulf Coast and so many more people.

Another Reason To Change Senator: Angle Would Say No To Kagen

U.S. Senator wannabe, Sharron Angle, who does not respond to e-mails, said today that she would vote no on Elena Kagen for the U.S. Supreme Court. Good for Angle. Anyone who denies the military to recruit at a college in direct conflict with a U.S. Supreme Court order deserves a no vote.
Of course, Harry Reid, Obama clone, will vote for her.
It must be really sad for Harry Reid. He is charge of the U.S. Senate, a powerful man in Washington D.C. but yet he must do whatever Obama wants. No Independence. Can we say wimp?

Pawn Stars June 29, 2010

It's another of Pawn Stars night starring Chumlee. And that is not a compliment.
In the first episode, the first guy brought in a solar therapy device which is supposed to cure 1000 diseases. The machine would filter out the sun rays. Rick offered $100 and that is what it went for.
Next up was an airplane. They went to a desert area in a neighborhood, not an airport, to see the plane. The plane used to transport troops from the Royal Navy from Great Britain. in WWII. The interior looked like crap, but the plane was not completely put together. The guy wanted $60,000 and they had to call in an extra. They called in Jamie who is a pilot. The pilot said it would cost about $60,000 to fix up. Rick offered $25,000 and that was too low for the seller, so no sale.
The next guy brought in 2 western novelty dummies (fake people, not Chumlee and his twin). The Old Man offered $500 for both and the guy wanted $700 and that was the selling point.
The next guy came in with a receipt with Andrew Jackson from the War of 1812. Rick had some problems with the receipt and so another expert comes in. Dana came in and he said it was real with a value of $4-6,000. Rick offered $2500 and then $2800. Then $2900. And that is what it went for.
Rick had a big problem with the Old Man buying the dummies. The old Man defended the decision and he named the dummies the Ed and George.
The next guy wanted to sell a Peter Lik photo print. It is a picture of a pier going out into a lake or ocean. The guy wanted $12,500. Rick offered $4000 and then $5000. And that is what it went for.
In the 2nd episode, the guy brought in a mortar that shoots bowling ball. It was home built. Why? The guy wanted $15,000. Rick wanted an expert to come in and shoot it off. Sounds like a liability risk. They brought in the expert, Leroy, who was in the very first episode of Pawn stars, not starring Chumlee, I believe. Leroy didn't want to fire it. The seller wanted $15,000. Rick offered $4000. It went for $6500, if it fired safely. They lit the thing with a lighter and it the bowling went flying, probably at least 50-100 yards. It actually was pretty cool.
The next guy brought in a WWII baby gas mask, from 1939. Time for another expert, Mark from the Clark County Museum. The guy wanted $4000 and then $3000. Rick didn't want it because it was too creepy.
The next guy came in with 1965 for a Muhammad Ali and Floyd Patterson ticket. The ticket was never used. The guy wanted $1000 and Rick offered $200 and there was no sale.
The next guy brought in an antique spot light, maybe from the 1930's. They plugged it in and it worked. The guy wanted $500 and Corey offered $100 and it went for $175.50.
The next lady brought in antique railroad stock bonds. She wanted $350 and it was a sale, with out negotiating.
So, another episode of Chumlee, starring the Pawn Stars.

Harry Reid Contributor Caught In Lie

Harry Reid, through his staffers are now saying that Sharron Angle wants to outlaw alcohol.
Steven Sebilus, who contributes to Harryreid.com is the fool that is making the charge.
Their evidence? An article written in 2006: http://web.archive.org/web/20061022223101/www.liberty-watch.com/volume01/issue04/coverstory.php
The article mentions nothing about alcohol but about marijuana. The closest thing mention in the article about booze, is the name of Bob Beers, a southern Nevada politician. So, that article is a lie. Maybe they are stupid enough to confuse Bob Beers with beer.
He quotes another article which does say something: “I would tell you that I have the same feelings about legalizing marijuana, not medical marijuana, but just legalizing marijuana,” Angle offered. “I feel the same about legalizing alcohol.
http://rmcpac.com/viewpoints/new-angle-giving-harry-reid-boot-sharon-angle
Notice the missing quotation marks. Further, Angle denies she made the remark.
Sebilus article on Harry's web site is this: http://www.harryreid.com/index.php/news/article/sharron_angle_prohibition_found_it/
So, will Harry distance himself from his supporter's lies? Of course not, but this is how desperate the Reid people are. Reid is trailing badly in the polls, so they will pull out all the stops and lie their way through the November election.

Clark County Watering Dirt

If anyone who visits Dog Fancier's Park, at the end of Flamingo, by the water treatment plant, you will understand what I mean when I say Clark County is watering mud.
If you take your dog to the park in the morning, before around 12 noon, you will notice that the entrances to the dog areas, especially the small dog pen, it is a muddy quagmire. The areas are more suited for pigs than dogs because the people overseeing the watering of the park over water the entire area. There are standing puddles and mud. If a homeowner did that, the folks at the water department would be angry about the over watering.
The mud attracts flies, gnats and other flying critters and it makes the dogs muddy. You would think the people at the parks department would know that, but they are government workers.
In addition, the only shaded part of the small dog park is of course, in the muddy area. Brilliant, Clark County.
You would think common sense would prevail, but I doubt it. I just hope they don't have plans on running the dogs out and renaming the park, Pig Fancier's Park.

Where's Waldo, Err, Jerry Doyle

Well, Dwight Schultz announced today that Jerry Doyle will be returning on next Monday, July 5th.
According to Schultz, he is the guest host today and is not sure who will be host for the rest of the week, which leads me to conclude strange things are still going on.
Hopefully, we will be able to hear Jerry and see what he says. Hopefully the listeners who have responded here were able to influence him to come back, at least in a small way.
Thanks everyone who has stopped by.

How Not To Run A Campaign, Part 3

Why does the GOP have problems answering e-mails from supporters?
Last week, I sent e-mails to Sharron Angle and Joe Heck offering assistance. But for some reason, I have never gotten a reasonable response. It is especially frustrating from Heck's campaign because I am resident of the congressional of Dina Titus's district, the seat Heck is going for and this is at least the second or third time I tried to contact the Heck campaign and all I get is a fake letter from Heck saying hs staff will get back to me, which they have not or failed to follow up of my offers of assistance. Sharron Angle is getting her campaign web site up and running, but that is no excuse.
I am no one special, but if this is how they treat their supporters, how will they treat people who have not made up their mind about the election?

Robert Byrd Dies

Robert Byrd died tonight at age 92. While I disagree with many of his positions and his past, he certainly was no Ted Kennedy.
He was considered the dean of the Senate and loved the tradition of the Senate and it's rules. And for that I have respect for the man.

And boo to Fox News who put on the web page about the finance bill being in peril. Can't politics stay out of a man's death while his body is still warm? Pathetic.

To Bad Obama Breaks Promise To 1000 Workers In Milwaukee

From Breitbart: In remarks prepared for delivery Thursday at the annual conference of the Export-Import Bank, Obama said 95 percent of the world's customers as well as the world's fastest-growing markets are outside the U.S.
"We need to compete for those customers, because other nations are," Obama said in the remarks, which the
White House released before the president spoke. "If we stand on the sidelines while they go after those customers, we'll lose out on the chance to create the good jobs our workers need right here in America."
Obama was announcing a series of steps toward meeting the goal of doubling exports over the next five years, an idea first mentioned in his
State of the Union address in January. The strategy includes carving out a mini-Cabinet focused on promoting U.S. exports and seeking new funding to support export promotion programs.
http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=D9ECGSHO0&show_article=1
Oh, well, never mind. Another Obama promise broken. Just a company and their workers are affected.

Dallas Police Ordered To Escort Funeral Of Cop Killer

From the Dallas Morning News: A cop-killer who is the son of the Dallas police chief continued to stir deep emotions Friday as he headed to his grave.
An apparent last-minute decision by a deputy police chief to provide assistance during part of David Brown Jr.'s funeral procession angered some police associations. The city manager quickly issued a written statement distancing herself and Chief David Brown from the decision.

A few days ago, the son of the Dallas police chief , shot an killed a civilian and then a suburban Dallas police officer while in a drug induced state. This happened in an apartment complex in Lancaster, TX. http://odmp.org/officer/20425-police-officer-craig-shaw
During the funeral procession: "Officers said the assistance included 10 to 12 motorcycles and at least one squad car."
The excuse that was given to give the escort: "Deputy Chief Julian Bernal, who oversees the traffic unit, said that as the funeral procession was headed to the cemetery, the private motorcycle escort was having trouble keeping up.
He said other motorists were zipping past the slow-moving line of cars and weaving in and out of the procession to try to exit Central Expressway. He also said an accident at Walnut Hill Lane added to the problems.
Bernal, who was in the funeral procession, said he then ordered on-duty assistance to help control traffic.
"It was dangerous, and it was a matter of public safety," Bernal said.
He said officers, mostly on motorcycles, met up with the procession on Central Expressway at Mockingbird Lane and traveled with the procession the rest of the way to the cemetery. "

But what was the real reason: Bernal said. "I did it out of respect for my chief and for a family who had lost somebody." So, the real reason he did it was out of respect for the chief and his family, not because of safety. What a load of crap.
But people are pissed: Bernal's decision set off a firestorm within the Dallas Police Department, with police associations representing rank-and-file officers condemning the decision.
"It was bad judgment," said Glenn White, president of the Dallas Police Association. "It's repulsive. It embarrasses the entire Dallas Police Department."
White said escorts are rarely, if ever, provided for private funerals. He called upon Bernal to resign. http://crimeblog.dallasnews.com/archives/2010/06/decision-to-use-on-duty-office.html

This action by the Dallas Assistant Police Chief is unbelievable, thoughtless and uncaring. First, you don't need 13 police officers to provide an escort. One or perhaps two officers to lead the procession may be reasonable in an emergency, but certainly not 13.
Further, the Police Chief, while I realize he is grieving for his son, should have not on such a public spectacle. Have the service at the cemetery instead of a church or have a funeral procession of just a few cars. But the chief chose to honor his thug son with an all out funeral, which his son did not deserve.
This is the first time I have heard of the police giving a police escort to a cop killer during their funeral and I hope it is the last. Giving a cop killer is not done because it can be perceived that the police are giving the dead person an honor, something they don't deserve.
But for the police to escort a cop killer to a cemetery is just stupid and very hurtful.

FIFA Referees=WWE Referees?

After watching the World Cup referees, it has become pretty obvious that there are referees worse than the NBA ref's
These clowns from FIFA have missed so many obvious goals and calls and these are the best referees soccer has to offer.
Some these ref's could not see a player faking an injury, just like the WWE. Some see fouls where they don't exist and miss other obvious calls, just like the WWE. Some of the ref's could not see goals or called a phantom foul to disallow a goal, just like the WWE.
Can it be that Vince McMahon is secretly running FIFA and the World Cup?

All You Need To Know About The Proposed Banking Bill

"It's a great moment. I'm proud to have been here," said a teary-eyed Sen. Christopher J. Dodd (D-Conn.), who as chairman of the Senate Banking Committee led the effort in the Senate. "No one will know until this is actually in place how it works.
I'm not an expert in banking, but if the people passing this bill don't what the hell is going to happen, then this bill should never pass.

Obama And Climate Change Costs 1000 Jobs In Milwaukee

From jsonline: "Up to 1,000 jobs at Bucyrus International Inc. and its suppliers could be in jeopardy as the result of a decision by the U.S. Export-Import Bank, funded by Congress, to deny several hundred million dollars in loan guarantees to a coal-fired power plant and mine in India....On Thursday, the Export-Import Bank denied financing for Reliance Power Ltd., an Indian power plant company, effectively wiping out about $600 million in coal mining equipment sales for Bucyrus, chief executive Tim Sullivan said.
The fossil fuel project was the first to come before the government-run bank since it adopted a climate-change policy to settle a lawsuit and to meet Obama administration directives.
"President Obama has made clear his administration's commitment to transition away from high-carbon investments and toward a cleaner-energy future," Export-Import Bank Chairman Fred Hochberg said in a statement. "After careful deliberation, the Export-Import Bank board voted not to proceed with this project because of the projected adverse environmental impact.""

Here we are, in a horrible economy, and yet in the name of climate change in India, 1000 or more of good paying jobs will be lost in Milwaukee.
This is political correctness run amok. This is Harry Reid's dream. This is the Democrats dream.
But it gets worse: "The plant is under construction in Sasan, central India, and is scheduled to be up and running in 2012. Coal mining will take place for the plant whether it's done with Bucyrus machines or equipment from China and Belarus, Sullivan said.
"Unless the Obama administration jumps all over this and corrects a wrong fairly quickly, I am confident this business is going elsewhere," Sullivan told the Journal Sentinel on Saturday.
"The bank's decision has had no impact on global carbon emissions but has cost the U.S. nearly 1,000 jobs," he added." http://www.jsonline.com/business/97225544.html

The plant is still going to be built and there will still be coal mining. So, the only thing that will change is that Americans will lose their jobs.
Thank you, President Obama. Hope and Change

Nevada Is Broke But Jim Gibbons Get $20,000 Portrait

The State of Nevada is going to pay $20,000 for an official portrait of Jim Gibbons.
Several questions come to mind: Why now? Why not when Gibbons was first elected?
$20,000 seems to be very expensive. I am sure there is an artist who can draw the portrait for $5000 or less.
Why not use a high class photograph? After all, we are in the 21st century. It's time we stop doing portraits on the taxpayer dime.
http://www.lasvegassun.com/news/2010/jun/25/how-should-gibbons-picture-look/

I don't mind having a picture of Jim Gibbons hanging where ever they hang the pictures. Gibbons ran on a platform of reducing spending and I have defended Gibbons many times but this is over the top. But, don't blame Gibbons alone, the other board of examiners are Democrats, so they are to blame as well.
So, we, the taxpayers are going to spend $20,000 for a portrait of the governor. Hey, it's only money.

Biden Acts Like A Smart Ass In Milwaukee

Joe Biden made a visit to Milwaukee and visited a Koops frozen custard stand. Biden comes asks where the ice cream is. Dumbass. Never confuse frozen custard with ice cream, especially in Milwaukee and Wisconsin. His aides should have told him that. Maybe the big sign out front that says frozen custard should have given Biden a hint.
Then Biden asked about the bill, the manager told him to lower taxes and they would be even. Not letting things go, Biden then calls the manager a smart ass.

This was just a photo op for the vice president and he completely blows it.
Kopps is a famous custard stand that I used to frequent a lot when I lived in Milwaukee. The employees wear the old fashioned clothes of drive ups of years ago- all white, pants and shoes. There are no booths to sit in, so either you eat the custard outside or you take it with you. Their hamburgers are big and don't cost a whole lot. The custard is out of this world. Nothing in Vegas comes close. Culvers is good and I think they are close, though I give the edge to Kopps.
So, Biden comes to Milwaukee and makes an ass of himself. Do you expect anything less of Biden?
h/t Drudge and Real Clear Politics

Senile Las Vegas Editorial Sun Writers

One symptom of dementia or senility is short term memory loss. A day after the Las Vegas Sun runs an editorial about civility in politics, the Sun turns around and becomes very uncivil towards the GOP members in the U.S. Senate. Can we say hypocrites or at the very least, have a very short term memory loss problem?
http://www.lasvegassun.com/news/2010/jun/26/just-say-no-no-no/
The Sun bashes the GOP for their actions in the senate on Thursday in which they filibustered a huge debt raising bill in the name of jobs. The Sun also bashes the GOP for trying to extend unemployment benefits for the unemployed, using stimulus money. Oh wait, they didn't mention that part.
The Democrat goal of the bill is to protect government jobs, not private sector jobs. How to pay for the Dem's bill- borrow and/or raise taxes. Of course, the Sun never mentions the pay as you go plan or goal the Democrats promised last year. Instead of cutting some of the senator's pet pork projects, they screw around and screw the poor. Where are the Democrats priorities? Obviously not with the unemployed or people looking for work.
The Democrats have a choice to make, help the economy by reducing regulations, stop threatening to raise taxes, stop bullying businesses, stop threatening to take over business and industry and stop borrowing money. When the government borrow money, that means less money for the private sector to borrow. The Democrats need to stop acting like spoiled kids in a candy store and the GOP have to act as parents and say no to the spoiled brats.
The vast majority of Americans do not like the way things are going in the United States and congress gets miserable ratings. Maybe the Democrats and Harry Reid ought to be listening to the American people instead of fighting them.

U.S. Soccer: 1 And Done

The U.S. soccer team was eliminated in the first round of World Cup soccer's knock out round. The U.S. lost to Ghana, 2-1 in overtime.
The U.S. looked timid, especially at the end of the game. They didn't want to have much to do with the Ghana goal keeper and the U.S. just looked flat with poor passing.
The TV announcers said that the U.S. should hold their head high. Well, I disagree. Ghana knocked out the U.S. in the first round in the last World Cup, which shows me that the U.S. has not improved since then.
But then again, we weren't as bad as France.

Wal-Mart Roll Backs Taken Too Seriously

From NBCbayarea: "Everyone knows you can find just about anything you need for a low price at Walmart -- including baby stuff. But an actual baby? That's not usually part of the deal.
Unless you're desperate for cash and not in the best frame of mind.
That's the case in
Salinas, California, where police say a couple tried to sell their 6-month-old baby for $25 outside the doors of a Walmart store. Now they're facing child endangerment charges. Patrick Fousek, 38, and Samantha Tomasini, 20, were arrested Wednesday, hours after Fousek allegedly approached two women outside Walmart and asked if they'd like to purchase his child -- at the bargain price of $25. The women initially thought Fousek was joking, but when he became persistent, they got suspicious and reported it to police, Salinas police spokesman Officer Lalo Villegas said."
http://www.nbcbayarea.com/news/local-beat/Couple-Tried-to-Sell-Baby-Outside-Walmart-for-25-Cops-97152394.html
This is a sad story and one hopes these pathetic alleged parents never get to see that child again. It is also hoped they never have another child again.
But, if you are going to sell something, do it front of Wal-Mart. I've seen people selling drugs, dogs, ACORN getting signatures for petitions, stolen items from other stores and so much more. A child is more than a bit unusual.
So, they'll probably sue Wal-Mart for giving them the idea.

Update On Dim Wit Milwaukee County Supervisor

The video showing dimwit Peggy West, County Supervisor in Milwaukee has been taken down by the Journal Broadcast Company.
The Journal Company, which operates jsonline, newspapers, and television and radio stations is mostly a liberal organization. It's newspapers and the TV station are very liberal.
This is how liberals protect other liberals.
But I found another copy of the video which shows the dimwit, who claims she misspoke. Yeah right. She had all day and longer to prepare her speech and yet she still screwed up. Misspoke, no just being stupid.

Time To Fight Fire With Fire

Now that Milwaukee County, WI. is contemplating a boycott of Arizona because of Arizona's immigration law, I am going to start standing up for Arizona.
This is a no brainer for Milwaukee County. They should vote no, but there are enough dimwits on the their County board, that they will probably vote to approve the boycott. Though, they do have one smart supervisor, Mark Borkowski. I ran cross country with him for two years while the both of us were at Wauwatosa East H.S., home of the Red Raiders, or whatever they are now.
While Milwaukee County is contemplating their decision, I will boycott products from Milwaukee County. So, now, no more Miller products, now it will have to be Bud or something gross like that. But one has to sacrifice.
So, hopefully Milwaukee County will do the right thing and vote down the boycott but if they do pass it, good bye Miller and hello Bud.

Could This Be One Reason Why The USPS Deosn't Make Money?

We went to the main Post Office today, on Sunset, across from the airport. The staff at the Post Office was helpful and courteous. But when I entered the main entrance, there was a Fed Ex collection box in front of the door. Huh?
If I am not mistaken, the USPS and Fed Ex are competitors. Why would the Post Office have a competitor's drop box in front of the entrance?
This is like McDonalds allowing Burger King to sell Whoppers in front of McDonald's doors.
Remember this when the USPS says they are broke.

Who Didn't See This Coming?

From ESPN: "Chicago Cubs pitcher Carlos Zambrano has been suspended indefinitely after a dugout tirade Friday.
Zambrano had to be separated from teammate
Derrek Lee in the visitors' dugout after surrendering four runs to the Chicago White Sox in the bottom of the first inning at U.S. Cellular Field." http://sports.espn.go.com/chicago/mlb/news/story?id=5328972
Zambrano always has been a loose canon, both on the field and in the dugout. His season has been awful and even was sent to the bullpen.
I'm not surprised.

Cheap Trick, Part Deux

We made a return visit to the Cheap Trick plays Sgt. Pepper tonight. The show is he same as before. http://lasvegasbadger.blogspot.com/2010/06/cheap-trick-plays-sgt-pepper-and-more.html
But I will give Cheap Trick credit. The band was much more enthusiastic and engaged the audience far more. Robin Zander, the lead vocalist, was far more engaging with the audience than before. He interacted with the audience several times and the audience appreciated it. The song, "Dream Police" which kind of sucked last time, was far superior.
The only problem is that someone forgot to turn on Zander's microphone for the first couple of words of the first song, Sgt. Pepper. Oops. But Zander took it in stride and did not get flustered. There was also a problem with the drummer's drum microphone and the stage hand got a little bit fame.
The audience seemed more enthusiastic, though some times, too much. But hey, it's Friday in Vegas. One problem with some members of the audience is that some people decided to come in late and it was disturbing. This is not like a sporting event or a stadium concert. This is a concert with about 2000 people in the audience If you come in late, people are going to notice and it is disturbing. People didn't come to the show to see you sit your lazy butt sit down.
But, the performance was just as good if not better than last time and everyone performed beautifully, including the symphony, back up singers and the back up musicians. If you get a chance, go see Cheap Trick at the Paris.

Las Vegas Sun's Editorial On Civilality, Uncivil

Sometimes you have to wonder if the Las Vegas Sun editorial writers actually work for the Onion newspaper and they get their writings mixed up.
Today, The Sun puts out an editorial that is titled: "A lack of civility
Americans are fed up with the negative tone in politics and in the country"

http://www.lasvegassun.com/news/2010/jun/25/lack-civility/
Silly me, after reading the title of the piece, I expected a piece about Harry Reid and President Obama and their uncivil behavior. Sadly, but not surprised, I was wrong.
First, the Sun quotes a poll about how Americans feel but they don't link the poll so no one can see what questions were asked.
Then the Sun praises Obama for trying to work with the GOP. "As we have noted before, President Barack Obama tried to work with Republicans. He graciously extended them opportunities to work together after taking office last year, and he was consistently rebuked. In turn, Republicans have tried to demonize him." Really? When? Obama tried to ram laws down the throat of Americans when the Dem's had a veto and filibuster proof majority, regardless of the views of the majority of Americans. He didn't need the GOP help and didn't want it. They wanted the success for themselves. And the Dem's have not tried to demonize the GOP? How about the GOP tries to steal social security, kill people, call the GOP names and just plain lie.
Further:"I have three kids, and when I was a kid, it was unimaginable that a member of Congress would call the president a liar,” Jenkins said, referring to South Carolina Republican Rep. Joe Wilson’s infamous outburst last year. Wilson’s shout, on the floor of the House as Obama spoke to lawmakers, was a recent example of the problem in politics."
Oh, please spare me. Presidents are called names all the time, both on the floor and off. Harry Reid said of President Bush "President Bush is a liar," Reid, the Senate's Assistant Majority Leader, said. "He betrayed Nevada and he betrayed the country." March 5, 2002 http://www.boycottliberalism.com/biographies/Reid.htm
And Joe Wilson was correct.
In the last paragraph: "People are fed up with the vicious rhetoric that has degraded civil discourse. It is beyond time to put aside all of the nastiness in politics, which has been heightened by the continuous news cycle. Political leaders should set a more positive tone for the country."
Obviously the Sun writers live in a world where unicorns roam free, fairies float around granting wishes, Barney the Dinosaur and Mister Rogers are president and vice president (yes, Mr. Rogers is no longer with us, but...) and everyone is a liberal. We have had political discourse since the Country was born. Yet the Sun creates more uncivil behavior by not even criticizing the liberals and Democrats one time in their editorial. How pathetic is that?
It's 1:30 in the afternoon. It's time for the Sun writers go to their second job at the Onion newspaper after they are done petting their pet unicorn.

Harry Reid Throws Temper Tantrum

Harry Reid got on his bully pulpit, the Senate floor, and cried very big crocodile tears today.

"The Republicans in the Senate have made the decision to do everything they can to turn the country upside down, to do everything they can to stop economic recovery because they think it may help some of their people running for the Senate around the country.
"They figure as bad as they can make the economy, the better off they will be," Reid said. "That is a pretty difficult view for people who are United States senators."
"As we learned from the health care debate, (Republicans) want everything that Obama wants to be his Waterloo."

http://www.lvrj.com/news/reid-blasts-republicans-for-blocking-benefits-bill-97158704.html

First, soon to be Mr. Former Senator Reid, the country's economy is in the tank in large part of what the Democrats have done. More regulations, threatening to tax everything in sight, false promises, scandal, bullying etc.

Most people want the president to succeed but the president is doing everything in his power not to have this country succeed. Spending the country into oblivion with trillion dollar deficits is not a sane thing to do. Obama care is proving itself to a fraud. It will not save money but will increase health care spending by the Feds. The oil disaster, something that Obama who had the power to minimize the disaster, has been a failure because of the government's red tape. The fiasco in Afghanistan is demoralizing the troops and many of the people at home. All of this, while the president plays and parties around the country. When the GOP offered to extend unemployment benefits, the Democrats shot it down. Who's playing politics now?

But in a post I wrote yesterday, it's not only the GOP senators who have dim views of what is happening in America, the majority of people don't like what the Dem's are doing.

So, Soon To be Former Senator Reid, stop playing politics and get off of your high horse. If you want cooperation with the GOP, you don't have to do much. After all, there are a bunch of RINO's in the Senate. If you can't even turn Olympia Snowe or Susan Collins, then you know you are too extreme.

Only In California

California, home of the very strange and weird.
First, Gov. Schwarzenegger banned the use of California welfare credit cards at casinos: Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has issued an executive order barring California welfare recipients from using state-issued debit cards at casino ATMs.
Thursday's order followed a report by The Los Angeles Times that found CalWORKS cards were used to withdraw cash in more than half the casinos in the state.

http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/n/a/2010/06/24/national/a174318D61.DTL&tsp=1#ixzz0rr1zEDet
Seriously, if you are on welfare, you should not be in a casino and especially withdrawing cash from a casino ATM. Hell go to Wal-Mart and you can withdraw up to $200 at the cashier or ATM for $1 or less. A casino charges at least $3 or more for a withdrawal. And if you can afford to step foot in a casino, then you don't need to be on welfare.

Second: Goto a fight and a graduation breaks out. In Victorville, which is in between Las Vegas and Los Angles, had a riot at a kindergarten graduation ceremony.
From the Victorville Daily Press: "Two adults were arrested and up to 20 people have now been identified in a Wednesday brawl among parents during a kindergarten graduation ceremony at Puesta Del Sol Elementary School, a school district official said.
Sheriff’s deputies arrested two women Thursday in connection with the fight, which stopped Wednesday’s graduation ceremony and put the school at 15887 Academy Street on lockdown. No parents were allowed on campus for the sixth grade graduation assembly on Thursday."

http://www.vvdailypress.com/news/arrested-20086-brawl-kindergarten.html
Is it to early for the children to be embarrassed of their parents? Usually embarrassment of parents start at the early teen age years.
California: Home of the very strange.

Stupid Liberal Politician Video

Milwaukee County Supervisor Peggy West has to be one of the dumbest politicans of the year. The Miwaukee County Board was debating whether to boycott Arizona because of their illegal immigration law. What she has to say about it is just astounding, especially when you get to the 20th second mark.

Just so you liberals know, Arizona does share a border with Arizona, unlike what Supervisor West thinks.
Is West smarter than a 5th grader? I don't think so.

Who Makes The Best BBQ Sauce?

Now that it is cook out season, I am starting to experiment with different BBQ sauces. So far, we like Sweet Baby Rays Sweet and Spicy and Famous Dave's Rich and Sassy BBQ sauce.
We pretty much agreed that Hunts BBQ sauce of any flavor was not any good along with any generic BBQ sauce.
So, what kind of BBQ sauce do you like? Sauce that you can go to the local grocery store and get instead of sauce you only can get at a restaurant. Many people would like to know, especially with the 4th of July coming up next weekend.
Thanks for your answers.

Harry Reid And Democrats Block Extension Of Unemployment Benefits

From Fox News: "Republicans immediately tried to pass a one-month extension of unemployment benefits that would have been fully paid for with unallocated stimulus funds. But Democrats objected."
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/06/24/senate-republicans-poised-kill-jobless-aid-measure/
The Democrats wanted to pass a bill that would have raised taxes on small business and save government jobs. It would have also extended unemployment benefits. The GOP filibustered this bill in part of raising the taxes and how the bill would be paid.
So, the GOP then put up a single bill that just extend unemployment compensation and the Dem's refused to go along.
So, the next time the Democrats say they are for the unemployed, forget about it. The unemployed are just political pawns to the so called compassionate liberals.

Rory Reid Ashamed Of The Reid Name?

"Rory Reid may have a well-known last name — he's the son of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid — but he doesn't seem anxious to let Nevada voters know what it is. A Democratic county commissioner who is running for governor of Nevada, Reid launched his first campaign commercial on Wednesday. But Reid's last name is nowhere to be found in the video"
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ynews/20100624/pl_ynews/ynews_pl2818
Clearly, this is a cleat attempt by little boy Reid to stay clear of the Reid name. He knows that Nevada voters do not like dynasties and they do not like the Reid name. When the voters in November see two Reid names on the ballot, this will spell trouble for both Reids.

18 Year Old Suspected In 62 Murders In Mexico

This is how cheap life is in Juarez, Mexico. An 18 year old hit man has been accused of murdering up to 62 people in Juarez, at a pay rate of $240 a week. This includes 47 murders this year.
http://www.elpasotimes.com/juarez/ci_15363789
I just wonder how a person so young can be so violent and have no soul. And I wonder why life is so cheap, even in Mexico.

Interesting Poll Results: Americans Don't Like What Reid And Obama Are Doing

Rasmussen has several poss out today and it does not bode well for Harry Reid, President Obama and Liberal Democrats (is there any other kind of Democrat out there)
Poll 1: Only 28% say shifting workers from the employer health plan to a government health plan is good.
http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/current_events/healthcare/june_2010/only_28_say_shifting_workers_to_government_health_insurance_plan_is_good

Poll 2: 48% see government today as a threat to individual rights. http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/general_politics/june_2010/48_see_government_today_as_a_threat_to_individual_rights

Poll 3: Only 28% of Americans see America going in the right direction
http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/mood_of_america/right_direction_or_wrong_track

Poll 4: Only 12% Give Congress a good or excellent rating
http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/mood_of_america/congressional_performance

Poll 5: Presidential tracking poll: 27% strongly approve of Obama's performance while 40% strongly disapprove of Obama's performance
http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/obama_administration/daily_presidential_tracking_poll
Come on Reid, bring Obama to campaign for you in July. Talk about being clueless.

This is not good news if you are a liberal.

Sharron Angle Still Beating Harry Reid, 48-41

According to Rassmussen Reports, Sharron Angle continues to kick Harry Reid's butt, 48-41%. This comes about 3 weeks after the primary elections and numerous ad's and a visit by Michelle Obama for Harry Reid. http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/elections/election_2010/election_2010_senate_elections/nevada/election_2010_nevada_senate
Clearly, Harry Reid is not appealing to voters. The fact Reid is only at 41% again shows Reid is not well liked in Nevada, even with 100% name recognition. And with Obama coming to campaign for Reid in early July, this will only drop Reid's numbers.
Angle has barely advertised and Reid has been spending his $25 million on advertising. In addition, special interest groups are going all out for Reid as well.
This election is for Sharron Angle to lose. I cannot see Reid coming close to 48% with his name recognition.
So, look for Reid to continue to lie, continue to use the Las Vegas Sun as an agent of fraud and continue his attack ads while saying he is Saint Harry, father of pork.

Elementary School Giving Away Condoms To It's Students

From KSDK: "A Massachusetts elementary school could soon start handing out condoms to first graders.
The
school committee in Provincetown unanimously adopted a condom distribution policy for the elementary school and high school on Tuesday.
Under the new policy at Veteran's Memorial Elementary School, which has students from pre-Kindergarten to the sixth grade, condoms will be available for any
student of any age that asks. "I don't know a magic age to put on it, do you?" said Dr. Beth Singer, school superintendent."
Exposing young children to condoms raises questions, but what's raising eyebrows is that parents can't say 'no' to the new policy.
http://www.ksdk.com/news/local/story.aspx?storyid=204923&catid=3
Beth Singer is an idiot and should never be allowed in a school district in the nation again. This is borderline child abuse/neglect on Singer and the school board's part.. Further, parents don't have a say in the matter?
This is liberalism run amok. The alleged superintendent and the school board ought to be ashamed of themselves.
Provincetown is a working class city in the Cape Cod area with an average family income around $32,000.
But to answer Singer's question, I am pretty sure 1st-6th graders do not need a condom, except to make water balloons. What a buffoon.

Jerry Doyle Update

It's been at least a month of not having Jerry Doyle on the air. This is one of the best kept secrets that even the CIA would be proud.
I've scoured the Internet looking for any amount of news and nothing is out there. I've even checked for criminal cases in Clark County for his name and now I know Jerry is not a wild ax murderer.
I have had communication with an employee at KDWN, his flagship radio station here in Las Vegas, and they claim they do not know anything as well.
So what is going on and how much does the public have to know.
Well, I believe that the public does not need to know the most sordid details or even a few details. But as a public figure with a talk show with about 4 million visitors, either Jerry or TRN (Talk Radio Network) should put out a statement as to what is happening or how long he will be out. Not only does Doyle and TRN have a small responsibility to it's listeners, they have a bigger responsibility to it's employees, radio stations and especially advertisers.
There are so many possibilities out there. Is Doyle sick? Did he quit and they are seeking replacements and trying out Schultz and Shapiro? Rehab? (doubt it because he would be back already) Writing a book? Talk show host are known to write books and they often take time off to do the writing, but not this long.
So, will we ever know what is going on? Probably not until he comes back, if he comes back.

Update To Harry Reid Scandal

Sometime early this morning, Harry Reid and his staffers finally put information about the UFC fight on his campaign web site, harryreid.com. It currently is located in the top 1/3 part of the page.
However, the Las Vegas Sun is still directly linking a "blog" post directly to Harry Reid's campaign web site. Have they have no journalistic standards? Yes, I know, very funny joke.
It's really a shame and shows how desperate Harry Reid and the Las Vegas Sun are if they have to stoop this low to get people to visit Reid's web site.
This is nothing more than a commercial for Harry Reid and Sun is providing free advertisement by linking to Reid's web site.
How shameful the Las Vegas Sun and Harry Reid are.

More Harry Reid And Las Vegas Sun Scandal

More information on the Las Vegas Sun, Harry Reid and UFC scandal. In the past post, it was revealed that Harry Reid is having a lottery to sit next to him on July 3rd at a UFC fight night. But you had to go to harryreid.com to get the information. If you go there, all you get is Harry Reid's campaign web site and no information about the lottery.
Now, after looking at the Sun's web site, on the main page, about 3/4ths of the way down, there is a blog link about the UFC fight and sitting next to Harry Reid. If you click on the link, it takes you directly to Harry Reid's campaign web site. From the Sun:
Reports from other publications, aggregated by Sun staff, worthy of our readers’ attention.
Contest offers seat next to Harry Reid at UFC 116
The UFC is offering a special promotion for UFC 116 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on July 3 — a front row seat next to UFC president Dana White and Sen. Harry Reid (D-Nev.). ...

Web site reports false rumor Lesnar out of UFC 116
(via Yahoo.com)
The Internet was swarmed with a flood of responses Wednesday when the Bleacher Report ran a story with the rumor that UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar was pulling out of a title fight with Shane ...

Las Vegas Sands targets Asia for 90% of revenue as mainlanders return to Macau
(via Bloomberg)
Las Vegas Sands Corp., the casino company of billionaire Sheldon Adelson, expects 90 percent of its revenue to come from Asia by 2020, as its Singapore resort ramps up and more of China’s gamblers visit

Please notice that in the credit's for the link, on the second story, it says "via yahoo" as the source and in the third entry, it says "via Bloomberg" as the source. But for the Harry Reid lottery, it mentions no source for the link.

Why would the Sun have a direct link to Harry Reid's campaign web site when it is supposed to be connected to a blog? What publication comes from this link? Since when is the Harry Reid campaign web site considered a publication?

Since the Las Vegas Sun is directly linking to Harry Reid's campaign web site and no other campaign, would this be in violation of any election laws? In kind donations? False advertising?

So, this is an outrageous scandal by Harry Reid, the Las Vegas Sun and probably, the UFC. In journalism, this would to be considered to be disgraceful and unethical. You would expect this from Harry Reid. UFC, I'm not sure.
If there is any doubt that the Las Vegas Sun is in bed directly witht the Harry Reid campaign, the doubt has vanished. The Las Vegas Sun's creditability in journalism has been completely shot.

Harry Reid Scandal? Harry, Las Vegas Sun and UFC Scams Readers

Harry Reid, The Las Vegas Sun and the UFC appear to be in a scandal for readers to visit Harry Reid's campaign web site.
From the Sun: "The UFC is offering a special promotion for UFC 116 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on July 3 — a front row seat next to UFC president Dana White and Sen. Harry Reid (D-Nev.). Headlining the event is a heavyweight title fight between Brock Lesnar and Shane Carwin.
Fans can enter the contest on Reid's Web site (www.harryreid.com), where more details are provided through a statement written by White." http://www.lasvegassun.com/blogs/elsewhere/2010/jun/23/sit-harry-reid-ufc-116-contest/

I went to Harryreid.com, which is Harry's web site at 11:08 PM, Tuesday, June 22, 2010 and there was no mention of the raffle or UFC or any contest regarding the UFC. No mention of links or anything else.
Was this an effort by Harry Reid to scam readers to go to his web site? Was this a scandal by the Las Vegas Sun for their readers go to the Reid web site for political reasons. Is the UFC involved in the scandal as well?
This is a scandal, no doubt about it.
And here I was just going to write about a story how Reid gets to run a lottery and sucker people to his web site.

Update: Now it is 12:11 AM and still no information on Reid's web site. The article in the Sun now has been on the internet for about 7 hours.

18 Year Old Henderson Woman Gives Birth, Tries To Kill Baby

From the Las Vegas Sun: An 18-year-old woman has been charged with the attempted murder of her newborn after police say she allegedly tried to dispose of the baby.
Sarah White of Henderson is charged with attempted murder, and child abuse and neglect after she delivered the baby in a bathtub and put it in a plastic bag, according to an arrest report.
Police said paramedics responded to the house in the 200 block of Camino Vista Street on April 3 to reports that a woman had given birth to a baby in an upstairs bathroom. The location of the home is near the intersection of Arroyo Grande Boulevard and Horizon Ridge Parkway.
Her father, a trained paramedic, was performing CPR on the infant when officials arrived, police said.
The baby was taken to St. Rose Sienna Hospital in stable but serious condition, according to the arrest report.

http://www.lasvegassun.com/news/2010/jun/23/woman-18-accused-trying-kill-newborn-baby/
This baby is very fortunate that the father of the girl is a paramedic and was doing CPR on the baby.
While many people will feel sorry for the mother, but I don't. First, there is a law in Nevada where a newborn baby can be taken to a fire station, hospital or police station and dropped off and there would be no ramifications to the family.
Second, this woman (not a mother in my mind) knew since July, 2009, she was probably pregnant, so she had time to plan this out. She tried to conceal the pregnancy and when it was time to give birth, she waited until her mother left the house before she took action.
I'm sorry but this woman decided she was more important than the baby. She is totally selfish. I sincerely hope she is actually punished instead of having her hand slapped and I sincerely hope this baby is not with the family now or in the future. I hope the child is put up for adoption and it ends up in a loving home. This monster of a woman should never be able to see this baby again.

NASCAR Cutting Down On Start And Parkers

There has been grumbling about start and parkers in the NASCAR series running just a couple of laps and then parking their cars. It was so bad that some cars didn't even have a pit crew. Some track owners were mad because they would pay these guys $70,000 and up for running 10-20 laps or so.
However, this past Sunday, the race at Sonoma saw that the last place car ran 65 laps out of 110 laps. Even Dave Blaney, a notorious start and parker ran 86 laps before his car died or ran out of gas. He even beat Kyle Bush, Reagan Smith and Martin Truex Jr.
While this is just one race, could it be that NASCAR is making the start and parkers actually race a little longer?

Do Senior Citizens Believe Harry Reid's Lies?

I was talking to a senior citizen, age 80+, the other day and we began to talk and the talk turned to social security. The senior citizen talked from the Harry Reid/Democrat playbook. He stated that Sharron Angle wanted to steal social security away from senior citizens and he was afraid that there would be no more social security if the GOP was elected.
I talked to him about social security and that the GOP would not stop social security payments to seniors and the disabled. I explained the privatization plan to him. I'm not sure he believed me about the GOP plan.
We then got to talking about Yucca Mountain. He said that people would stop coming to Las Vegas if Yucca opened. This is Harry Reid's belief and scare tactic. People are not going to stop coming to Vegas if Yucca opens. Nevada has tested nuclear bombs north of Las Vegas above ground at the Nevada Test Site. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nevada_Test_Site But people still keep coming to Las Vegas.
So, is Harry Reid and his packs of lies working on senior citizens? I only have the 1 person sample, but it was shocking listening to him. I have more confidence in other seniors, but after talking to this gentleman, I am not so sure.

Obama Grant Amnesty To Illegals Through Executive Order?

From Numbers USA:
Dear President Obama:
We understand that there’s a push for your Administration to develop a plan to unilaterally extend either deferred action or parole to millions of illegal aliens in the United States. We understand that the Administration may include aliens who have willfully overstayed their visas or filed for benefits knowing that they will not be eligible for a status for years to come. We understand that deferred action and parole are discretionary actions reserved for individual cases that present unusual, emergent or humanitarian circumstances. Deferred action and parole were not intended to be used to confer a status or offer protection to large groups of illegal aliens, even if the agency claims that they look at each case on a “case-by-case” basis.
While we agree our immigration laws need to be fixed, we are deeply concerned about the potential expansion of deferred action or parole for a large illegal alien population. While deferred action and parole are Executive Branch authorities, they should not be used to circumvent Congress’ constitutional authority to legislate immigration policy, particularly as it relates to the illegal population in the United States.
The Administration would be wise to abandon any plans for deferred action or parole for the illegal population. Such a move would further erode the American public’s confidence in the federal government and its commitment to securing the borders and enforcing the laws already on the books.
We would appreciate receiving a commitment that the Administration has no plans to use either authority to change the current position of a large group of illegal aliens already in the United States, and ask that you respond to us about this matter as soon as possible.

This letter was sent by the following Senators: Grassley, Hatch (R-Utah), Vitter (R-La.), Bunning (R-Ky.), Chambliss (R-Ga.), Isakson (R-Ga.), Inhofe (R-Okla.), and Cochran (R-Miss.).
If this it is true that Obama grants amnesty to illegals via executive order, I think all hell will break out. There actually may be riots in the street if this happens as this would be a definite sign that Obama is acting like a dictator. If this is done before the elections, Democrats will be lucky to win a handful of seats. If he does this after the elections, I see impeachment.
On the other hand, this also maybe a scare tactic by the Senators involved in an effort to scare voters into voting for the GOP in November. If this is true, it is a rotten political trick, on par with Democrats saying the GOP will steal social security away from seniors and the disabled.
So, we will see what Obama has to say. If Obama fails to respond or puts out a very poor response, look out below and lock the doors.

I'm Underwater In My Car Loan. Why Can't I Get Help With My Loan

From the LVRJ: "Underwater and delinquent Nevada homeowners could see financial relief from the government's so-called "hardest-hit fund" by mid-August, a state housing division official said Wednesday.
The target launch date for nearly $103 million coming to Nevada was delayed by three weeks because contracts with the U.S. Treasury were not in place by June 1 as originally anticipated, said Lon DeWeese, chief financial officer of the Nevada Housing Division....The money will help struggling homeowners by subsidizing mortgages for the unemployed, reducing principal balances on homes with negative equity, settling second liens, and facilitating short sales and deeds in lieu of foreclosure.
Nevada will create a mortgage modification program using a combination of forgiveness and forbearance with the goal of reducing principal to less than 115 percent of loan-to-value and lowering payments to 31 percent of debt-to-income."

So, people who are not paying their mortgage, are underwater or getting their mortgages subsidized are getting taxpayer help to pay down their homes. Why?
I am not getting break on my car loan even though I am upside down in my loan.
I have lost money in the stock market, why am I not getting any help. Why?
When people buy a product, like a house, there is risk involved, especially values of a house. A house value may drop because of the economy, crime in a neighborhood, new industry in a neighborhood or a dozen other reasons. Why should they get a break on their mortgages at taxpayer expense?
I can understand a little with help refinancing mortgages when a borrower is screwed over by a lender. I can understand refinancing help if the interest rates are sky high and outrageous. But never will I understand having taxpayers foot the bill, especially for underwater mortgages.
Thank you President Obama and Harry Reid for screwing the American people. But thank you to the folks in NYC, Boston, Miami, Milwaukee and every other city in the United States to help Las Vegans pay their mortgages.

Mexico Sues Arizona For Mexico's Problems

From Fox News: Mexico on Tuesday asked a federal court in Arizona to declare the state's new immigration law unconstitutional, arguing that the country's own interests and its citizens' rights are at stake...."Mexican citizens will be afraid to visit Arizona for work or pleasure out of concern that they will be subject to unlawful police scrutiny and detention," the brief said....Mexican officials previously had voiced opposition to the Arizona law, with Calderon saying June 8 that the law "opens a Pandora's box of the worst abuses in the history of humanity" by promoting racial profiling and potentially leading to an authoritarian society. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/06/22/mexico-files-lawsuit-overturn-arizona-immigration-law/
Let's see, the Arizona law opens a Pandora's box of the worst abuses in the history of humanity? Let's see. The Nazi's killed about 6 million Jews. In Rwanda, hundreds of thousands of people were killed in a civil war. Pol Pot killed millions in Cambodia. 9-11 killed thousands. Not to mention the drug wars in Mexico that has killed many thousand Mexicans in Juarez and other border cities.
No Mexican will stopped and questioned unless they break an American or Arizona law. And if they are carry their passport or other documentation, then there should be no problems.
Earth to Mexico, you country is causing the illegal immigration problem. Sub standard wages, drug wars, torture and murder are the cause of out illegal immigration problems.
Mexico needs to be run out of court and Mexico needs to apologize for this court action.

Very Freak Accident Kills Deputy Sheriff In GA

From Macon.com: Richard Daniels had just made an overnight security check at Reece Funeral Home when he headed east down U.S. 80 to do to the same at some churches.
While most of Twiggs County was sleeping about 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, Daniels was out patrolling streets and protecting property on what would be his last night on the job....
On a dark, lonely stretch of road that time of morning, he apparently never saw what hit him. A huge oak toppled over at mile marker 6. The impact on the 55 mph highway killed him instantly and tore the roof off his patrol car. It kept going another 271 feet after clipping the tree trunk that was suspended off the ground.

This can show you how dangerous a police officer job is, no matter what the circumstance. A man just doing his job, is killed by a tree hanging about 5 feet over the road. As other officers noted, he died so that this accident would not happen to another person.
RIP, deputy, job well done.

ESPN NASCAR Analyst Suspended For Drug Use

"NASCAR on Tuesday suspended former driver Randy LaJoie for failing a drug test, and he said he's enrolled in a substance-abuse program...In an interview Tuesday on SIRIUS XM Radio, Lajoie said he has also been suspended from his role as a NASCAR analyst with ESPN.
ESPN confirmed Lajoie had been indefinitely suspended".

Ok, I understand that LaJoie may have smoked pot once, according to him. But is he a danger to the NASCAR drivers if he is not a driver or on the track as a crew member? I imagine he was suspended from ESPN for publicity reasons.
Apparently LaJoie was apparently applying for a job as a spotter for the Joe Gibbs racing team and that is why he was tested. Of course, if he knew he was being tested, why did he even smoke the pot. Or apply for the job.
I'm sorry but the punishment, to me, just doesn't fit the crime, unless LaJoie is lying. He states he smoked pot just once in May. If that is true, then I feel the punishment doesn't fit the crime. However, he also may be lying, so who knows what is the truth.
Having never smoked pot (seriously, I am one of the few who never smoked pot in the 1970's and 80's or at any time), I really don't know how pot affects one's brain. So, is the suspension from NASCAR and ESPN justified?
