Nevada's Unemployment Rate Jumps To 14%

For some odd reason, Harry Reid put out a press release saying the May unemployment rate in May jumped to 14%.
From the Las Vegas Sun and Harry Reid: "This increase in our unemployment rate only emphasizes the need to diversify our state’s economy and create jobs," Reid said in a statement indicating the unemployment rate increase." http://www.lasvegassun.com/news/2010/jun/17/may-jobless-rate-said-increase-14-percent/
Well, if Harry wasn't running around the State killing jobs in mining, power plants, Yucca, garbage dumps and more, we may have a lower unemployment rate. Maybe these aren't the right kind of jobs for hoity toity Harry Reid. He is counting green jobs but they are not going to materialize, especially anytime soon. Further, the number would even be worse except for the hiring of census workers in the month of April and May.
There are jobs Harry can help get. How about cleaning up the outside Nellis AFB. Parts of Nellis look like a dump and makes the area look more like a ghetto than it already is. How about fulfilling the fed's promise of reimbursing school districts for unfunded mandates the feds and the Dept. of Education have mandated. How about putting through a tax policy that helps small businesses. How about stating what the tax policy will be instead of having businesses guess and then the businesses hold off on hiring. How about reducing the debt of the U.S. The more money being lent means the less money for the private sector. How about scrapping Cap and Trade. Stop demonizing businesses. Stop extorting private business.
Harry Reid, stop playing games and start working for the people of Nevada. If you seriously want to help Nevada, resign as Senate Majority leader and just be a senior senator and work for the State of Nevada.
