Senile Las Vegas Editorial Sun Writers

One symptom of dementia or senility is short term memory loss. A day after the Las Vegas Sun runs an editorial about civility in politics, the Sun turns around and becomes very uncivil towards the GOP members in the U.S. Senate. Can we say hypocrites or at the very least, have a very short term memory loss problem?

The Sun bashes the GOP for their actions in the senate on Thursday in which they filibustered a huge debt raising bill in the name of jobs. The Sun also bashes the GOP for trying to extend unemployment benefits for the unemployed, using stimulus money. Oh wait, they didn't mention that part.
The Democrat goal of the bill is to protect government jobs, not private sector jobs. How to pay for the Dem's bill- borrow and/or raise taxes. Of course, the Sun never mentions the pay as you go plan or goal the Democrats promised last year. Instead of cutting some of the senator's pet pork projects, they screw around and screw the poor. Where are the Democrats priorities? Obviously not with the unemployed or people looking for work.
The Democrats have a choice to make, help the economy by reducing regulations, stop threatening to raise taxes, stop bullying businesses, stop threatening to take over business and industry and stop borrowing money. When the government borrow money, that means less money for the private sector to borrow. The Democrats need to stop acting like spoiled kids in a candy store and the GOP have to act as parents and say no to the spoiled brats.
The vast majority of Americans do not like the way things are going in the United States and congress gets miserable ratings. Maybe the Democrats and Harry Reid ought to be listening to the American people instead of fighting them.
