And The Streak Ends

UCONN had its 114 game winning streak in women's college basketball ended tonight when they were beaten by South Carolina on a last second shot.
From ESPN: In an epic game that went to overtime, Mississippi State stunned four-time defending NCAA champion UConn 66-64 in the national semifinals Friday at American Airlines Center. The epic upset snapped the Huskies' NCAA-record 111-game winning streak and UConn's quest for a fifth consecutive title.
OK, this is women's basketball where thete is little parity.

The 70's Are Back

The 70's called and they want their decade back and from Hillary.
It looks like she is in the middle of a lava lamp.

They Have Themselves A Baseball Team

From the LVRJ:  Nine Clark County School District employees have been arrested since July 1 on charges related to inappropriate contact with students. The district has provided details about the following eight cases.
http://m.reviewjournal.com/crime/sex-crimes/las-vegas-high-school-volleyball-coach-accused-having-sex-student
I used to be a teacher in CCSD and I can tell you that there many more cases out there of sexual abuse of students and other kinds of abuse.
Many times, if a staff member makes an accusation you are the one who gets in trouble.
I know of 1 female assistant principal who not only had inappropriate contact with students but also allowed abuse of severely disabled students to go unfettered even though I made complaints against her.
CCSD is a cesspool with no hope for recovery.
But they can have a good baseball team/league as CCSD has about 10 staff members busted each year for abusing students.

Why Is This Controversial?

From the Lake Havasu News:  Spurred by a newly released undercover Spurred by a newly released undercover video, state sent legislation to Gov. Doug Ducey requiring doctors to do everything possible to save the life of a baby born alive after an abortion, even telling them what that entails.
The 18-11 vote in the Senate came just hours after the House gave its approval on a 34-22 margin.me just hours after the House gave its approval on a 34-22 margin.

Heck, if a baby is born, they no longer a fetus, they are a baby.
If anything, the doctor should be charged with murder if they allow the baby to die.
And it is very sad that 33 Democrats voted against this bill is sickening

How About Not Going Into Debt?

Mark Cuban is a idiot, a rich idiot, but a idiot nonetheless.
He put out this tweet:
. when will you address the exploding cost of college and the problem of student debt ?
https://twitter.com/mcuban/status/847070423661645828
In my case, I never took any student loans when I went to school to become a Special Education teacher. That included going to a community college, U.W. Madison and Silver Lake College in Manitowoc, WI (which is a very good school, better than U.W.).
I did not get any grants or scholarships, but I worked at least full time jobs at a time, in the medical field and paid as I went.
Was it easy, no.
Was it worth it not having school debts, absolutely.
And now my daughter is going to college and she is paying her way and getting scholarships and grants- no debt.
So, to Mark Cuban, President Trump should not do anything about student debt.
Maybe Mark Cuban ought care about personal responsibility and tweet about that.

Geez, It's Not Like He Went To A Loan Shark

So what if Phil Mickelson is a bad gambler, so why is this even a sdtory?
From the NY Post:  Pro golfer Phil Mickelson dropped a good five percent of his salary on gambling debts in 2012, it emerged in Manhattan federal court on Thursday.
In Sept. 2012, Mickelson forked over close to $2 million for gambling debts to professional gambler Billy Walters, according to documents presented at Walters’ insider trading trial on Thursday.
That year, the PGA winner earned $48 million, the same court document said.
The sneak peak into Mickelson’s gambling habit was presented to a Manhattan federal jury charged with deciding whether Walters illegally traded on stock tips he got from a director pal at butter company Dean Foods. Walters has plead not guilty.  http://nypost.com/2017/03/30/phil-mickelson-once-spent-nearly-2m-to-pay-off-a-gambling-debt/
Phil dropping $2,000,000 is like me losing $10 on Powerball.  Not a big deal.

Holy Crap

A fire in Atlanta brought down a section of a bridge on I-85.
From the AJC: Fire officials extinguished a massive fire on I-85 on Thursday night after it burned for more than an hour and led to the collapse of a bridge on the interstate, fire officials said.
he bridge on I-85 northbound just south of Ga. 400 near Piedmont Road collapsed about 7 p.m. Thursday, Atlanta fire spokesman Sgt. Cortez Stafford said.
http://www.ajc.com/news/traffic/breaking-bridge-collapses-during-massive-fire/FRzANVZ9vgyWW2WZfyN6jI/

Start of the fire.

After the collapse.
And the understatement of the day: Dale said the interstate will be closed in both directions “for the foreseeable future.”
Some conservatives have been complaining about paying for infrastructure.
They may want to reconsider.

Another Deadly Day In Chicago

And the killing goes on in Chicago, more black on black crime...where iis Black Lives Matter?
From the Chicago Tribune:Within four hours, four people were fatally shot at or near a restaurant and a woman was discovered dead from a gunshot wound to the head less than a mile away in the South Shore neighborhood, police said.
The five were among at least nine people shot in attacks across the city starting Thursday morning, according to police.
The four men or boys were fatally shot about 3:50 p.m. at Nadia Fish and Chicken, 2704 E. 75th St., police said.
A male attacker approached the restaurant and fired shots, wounding two men or boys who died inside, a third who was found nearby outside and a fourth who was found in a backyard in the 7500 block of South Coles Avenue, according to police. It was not immediately clear how many of the victims were inside or outside the restaurant at the time of the shooting.
The shooting may have been part of an internal gang conflict involving the Black P Stones gang, in retaliation for the killing of a 37-year-old man in the 7900 block of South Phillips Avenue about 11:15 p.m. Wednesday, police sources said.

Near the restaurant, a woman in a red apron screamed and wept and banged her fists on the hood of a squad car as officers worked to push back a growing crowd in all four directions: east and west from Coles and north and south of 75th.
http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/breaking/ct-chicago-violence-shootings-20170330-story.html
So sad for the families and yet, this liberal city does very little to stop the murders.  Must be the cost of living in the ghetto of Chicago.

McDonalds Imitate In And Out?

This could be interesting: McDonald's said Thursday it will offer fresh beef Quarter Pounders nationwide by the middle of next year, after switching from frozen patties in a number of test markets.
The fresh beef, which McDonald's says will be cooked to order, also will be on the chain's Signature Crafted line, which allows diners to customize their burgers with a choice of bun and toppings. The smaller beef patties at McDonald's restaurants, used on the cheeseburgers and Big Macs, will still come frozen.
The announcement comes just two weeks after the fast-food giant said it had expanded its fresh beef experiment to more than 300 restaurants in the Dallas area. McDonald's had been testing fresh beef at 55 restaurants across the Dallas-Fort Worth area and 75 restaurants across northeast Oklahoma. It first started testing fresh beef in a handful of restaurants in the spring of last year.  http://www.chicagotribune.com/business/ct-mcdonalds-fresh-beef-0331-biz-20170330-story.html
I just wonder who will choose a fresh patty over a Big Mac?
And are people willing to wait for the Quarter Pounder?

Another Thug Dead

From Fox News: For 21 years, John Croft lived in his Alabama home virtually problem-free until last summer.
“I’ve been a prisoner in my house,” he said.
Croft, who is 79, says the burglaries began last June. Since then, he says his Center Point house has been broken into 13 times.
The most recent case came around 1:15 Wednesday morning....

And yet there anti-gun nuts who think this brave man should not have had a gun for protection.

More Evidence Obama Spied On Trump

It's pretty apparent that ex-president Obama had ordered surveillance on now President Trump and his followers and this this could go down as one of the biggest scandals in U.S. political history.
From Fox News: A former top Obama administration official has acknowledged efforts by her colleagues to gather intelligence on Trump team ties to Russia before Donald Trump took office and to conceal the sources of that intelligence from the incoming administration.
Evelyn Farkas, deputy assistant secretary of defense under Obama, made the disclosure March 2 while on the air with MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski.
“I was urging my former colleagues and, frankly speaking, the people on the Hill, it was more actually aimed at telling the Hill people, get as much information as you can, get as much intelligence as you can, before President Obama leaves the administration,” Farkas, who is now a senior fellow at the Atlantic Council, said.
“Because I had a fear that somehow that information would disappear with the senior [Obama] people who left, so it would be hidden away in the bureaucracy ... that the Trump folks – if they found out how we knew what we knew about their ... the Trump staff dealing with Russians – that they would try to compromise those sources and methods, meaning we no longer have access to that intelligence.”
The comments come as lawmakers on Capitol Hill clash over House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes' claim last week that surveillance operations incidentally collected Trump team communications during the transition. Critics have accused Nunes of carrying water for Trump and called on him to recuse himself from Russia matters, but Nunes and his congressional allies have pushed back.
Aside from questions over whether communications were improperly gathered during the transition and before, there is speculation over how widely such information was disseminated. Farkas described a rush to spread the material before Trump took office.
"So I became very worried because not enough was coming out into the open and I knew that there was more. We have very good intelligence on Russia," she said. "So then I had talked to some of my former colleagues and I knew that they were trying to also help get information to the Hill." http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2017/03/29/former-obama-official-discloses-rush-to-get-intelligence-on-trump-team.html
Maybe it's time to have a special prosecutor to see how much Obama and his gang conducted illegal surveillance and then leaked the information.  It's becoming clear that Obama and his gang did many illegal and unethical things in the last year of his presidency.

And It Begins For The Las Vegas Raiders

Only in Nevada.
From the Las Vegas Sun: When politicians and Raiders brass touted new business opportunities tied to a planned NFL stadium in Las Vegas, they probably didn’t have this in mind.
On Monday, Dennis Hof announced plans to build his seventh brothel in Nevada, a Raiders-themed establishment called Pirate’s Booty tied to the projected 2020 opening of the Las Vegas Raiders stadium.
NFL owners voted 31-1 on Monday to let the team move from Oakland to Las Vegas.
The brothel would be located 90 miles outside of Las Vegas in Crystal, just North of Pahrump in Nye County. Hof’s Love Ranch South is also located in the small town.
“I’ve had a license for a seventh brothel near Las Vegas for some time now, but I was waiting for the right time to launch another house of debauchery,” Hof said. “The Raiders coming to Vegas will mean big business for me, so my next sex den will honor the ‘Men in Black’ and their ‘Raider Nation.’”
Actually, I'm sure the NFL has thought about this.
And since Crystal has an airport, the players can fly and fly out within a few hours.
But if you wanted to do anything else in Crystal, all they have in town are 2 brothels.

RIP To My Uncle

This past Thursday, my Uncle Tom passed away and he was also my Godfather.
Tom was 92 years old and he was a great man.  He was married to my Aunt for 65 years.  65 years.  They obviouslyadored each other.  They had 8 kids, 18 grandkids and 19 grandkids and not a bump in the bunch.
Tom was a very religious man, passing out communion to shut ins until he was unable to so.
Tom was also a U.S. Marine during World War 2.
Tom was someone to look up to as a role model and he is greatly missed for all the good he has done.
RIP Uncle Tom.

Another Reason Why Californians Are Brain Dead

This California Supreme Court Chief Justice is supposed to be one of  most learned people in California and yet she is actually really clueless.
From Michelle Malkin: California Supreme Court Chief Justice Tani G. Cantil-Sakauye did not mention President Trump by name in her annual State of the Judiciary speech Monday, but she blasted federal actions on immigration and warned that the rule of law in the state is under threat.
[…]
“Simply put, the rule of law means that we as a people are governed by laws and rules, not by a monarch,” she said.
People take the rule of law for granted until it is under threat, she added.
“I submit to you today that the rule of law is being challenged,” she said. “We are living in a time of civil rights unrest, eroding trust in our institutions, economic anxiety and unprecedented polarization.”
She argued that sweeps by immigration authorities had already created tension between the judicial branch and government agencies. Courthouses, she said, should be treated like hospitals or churches – places where immigration enforcement is “the exception, not the practice.”
Cantil-Sakauye told legislators: “I am not saying, ‘Do not enforce the federal law.’ I am saying, ‘Please don’t do so at, or in, California state courthouses.'”
And of course, Malkin is referring to one of the funniest movies of all time, "Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb."

Fire Truck Of The Future?

Image may contain: one or more people and outdoor

From the Greenville NC, Fire Dept: T'S HERE: Our new Fire/EMS unit arrived! This vehicle is incredibly unique: one of only 2 on the east coast and 11 in the nation! It can do everything a fire engine and an EMS unit can do! Eventually, it will be used to staff Station 7 territory off Firetower Rd. Thanks Atlantic Emergency Solutions for your hard work! Watch your local news tonight WCTI NewsChannel 12 WITN-TV WNCT-TV and pick up tomorrow's edition of The Daily Reflector for more information! #firetruck #EMS  https://www.facebook.com/GreenvilleFireRescueEMS/photos/pcb.10155113183438670/10155113170738670/?type=3

The fire truck/ambulance is cheaper than paying for a separate fire truck and ambulance and it saves costs on paying for a separate fire and ambulance crew.
This could be the future of firefighting.

Justice In England??

I dare say, if this happened to a professional baseball, football or basketball player, there would be hell to pay for the judge.
From the Leiscester Mercury: The head of a charity supporting domestic violence victims has slammed a judge for showing "shocking ignorance" in sparing a man who attacked his wife with a cricket bat a jail term.
Mustafa Bashir hit the woman with a bat, slapped and choked her, and on another occasion forced her to drink bleach and pills, Manchester Crown Court heard.
But the 34-year-old Pakistani cricketer – who claimed he was set to sign a professional contract with Leicestershire County Cricket Club shortly before his arrest – walked free from court despite admitting the assault on his then wife Fakhara Karim.
Judge Richard Mansell handed Bashir an 18-month suspended sentence on Monday after saying Ms Karim was not vulnerable because she was an "intelligent woman with a network of friends" and had a degree....
The court heard that Bashir had berated Ms Karim for wearing western clothing and called her a "slag" when she went out socialising with English friends
Read more at http://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/judge-slammed-for-sparing-wife-beating-cricketer-jail-over-false-leicestershire-country-cricket-link/story-30233209-detail/story.html#OQDo3mLplhqUJCjP.99
So, an intelligent woman with a network of friends and had a college degree was not a vulnerable person who had a cricket back and is probably quite bigger, stronger and faster than the victim was?
Or maybe it was the religion of the thug?
Pretty pathetic justice in the U.K.

My Guess The wedding Is Off?

From the Stevens Point, WI, Journal:   A 35-year-old Plover man who told a detective he was selling methamphetamine to save money for his wedding was sentenced Tuesday to five years in prison.
Pao Xiong was charged after police searched his home Aug. 25, 2016, and found more than 50 grams of methamphetamine, along with more than $24,000 in cash, according to a criminal complaint.
Xiong admitted he had been selling methamphetamine for about four or five months and told a detective he was saving money for a wedding he was planning in Laos, the complaint says. A detective investigating the case estimated Xiong likely sold at least 20 ounces — more than a pound — of methamphetamine in Plover and the surrounding area....
Portage County Assistant District Attorney Cass Cousins said Xiong was financially motivated to commit the crime, which Cousins described as “profiting from the addiction of others.”
David Casey, Xiong’s attorney, said Xiong doesn’t have a significant criminal record and was extremely cooperative with police after he was arrested.
“When he gets out he wants to get a job and work hard and never be in trouble again,” Casey said.
http://www.stevenspointjournal.com/story/news/2017/03/28/man-who-sold-meth-fund-wedding-gets-5-years-prison/99747600/
My guess the wedding is off but who knows, maybe the future Mrs. Xiong likes his entrepreneurial spirit.

Schumer Needs To Resign

Senator Chunky Schumer has lost it mentally and needs to resign being a Senator.
From the NY Post: Sen. Chuck Schumer caused a scene at a Manhattan restaurant when he began yelling at a wealthy and well-connected Donald Trump supporter that the POTUS is “a liar.”
Schumer, the top Senate Democrat, lost his cool on Sunday night at Upper East Side restaurant Sette Mezzo, according to witnesses.
He was dining with friends when he encountered Joseph A. Califano Jr. — the former US secretary of health, education and welfare under President Jimmy Carter and domestic policy adviser to President Lyndon B. Johnson — and his wife, Hilary, who were having a quiet dinner.
Onlookers said Schumer was incensed that Hilary — the daughter of William S. Paley, the founder and chairman of CBS — had voted for Trump, even though her husband, Joseph, is a well-known Democrat.
One witness said of the restaurant rant, “They are a highly respected couple, and Schumer made a scene, yelling, ‘She voted for Trump!’ The Califanos left the restaurant, but Schumer followed them outside.” On the sidewalk, Schumer carried on with his fantastical filibuster: “ ‘How could you vote for Trump? He’s a liar!’ He kept repeating, ‘He’s a liar!’ ”
Hilary confirmed the confrontation, telling Page Six, “Sen. Schumer was really rude . . . He’s our senator, and I don’t really like him. Yes, 1 voted for Trump. Schumer joined us outside and he told me Trump was a liar. I should have told him that Hillary Clinton was a liar, but I was so surprised I didn’t say anything.”
A family wanting a nice quiet dinner and then you have some ass hole come and bother you for no reason, other than you voted against his wishes.
Schumer has lost it and he needs to resign and get some mental counseling.

Big Fire In Kingman

This evening, about 10:00, a big double wide was destroyed by fire. 4 fire engines fought the, they lost the house but saved the houses on either side of the fire building.  Considering it was windy, that was pretty good.
Rumor has it that was a major drug house.
Here are some pictures:

A Rifle Saves Another Life

from the Oklahoman: BROKEN ARROW (AP) — Oklahoma authorities say three would-be burglars have been fatally shot by a homeowner's armed son.
A Wagoner County Sheriff's Office spokesman says the agency received a call around 12:30 p.m. Monday from someone inside a home who told dispatchers that people had broken into the house and that shots had been fired.
Deputy Nick Mahoney says authorities arrived to find the alleged burglars all fatally shot by the adult son, who met the intruders with a rifle.
Mahoney didn't identify the three men, but said they were wearing all black clothes, gloves and masks when they forced their way in through a back door.
And yet, there are people out there that don't think this kid should have been allowed access to the rifle to protect his life.
Good riddance to the thugs who broke in.

Umm, Why Is This A Story?

From the NY Daily News: Residents at Brooklyn’s Pink Houses accused cops of using a banned chokehold Monday on a drug possession suspect who appeared to be having a seizure.
A large crowd gathered at Stanley Ave. and Crescent St. shortly after 2:30 p.m. after a man who was stopped by cops began trembling in a housing complex courtyard.
Video of the chaotic scene shows a man on the ground and onlookers berating cops about their response.
“Why do you put somebody in a seizure in handcuffs?” a bystander asks a group of cops.
“Yeah, but they choked him,” says another woman who is being ushered away by a police officer.
An NYPD spokesman said there was no chokehold and no seizure. Officials said cops were responding to a call about a man with a firearm when a man started running and threw himself on the ground before faking a seizure.
Cops called an ambulance just to be safe, officials said, adding there was nothing medically wrong with the suspect.  http://www.nydailynews.com/new-york/nyc-crime/nypd-cops-accused-banned-chokehold-drug-suspect-article-1.3010789
More fake news from a fake newspaper.

No Kidding

Yep, I've been affected.
From the Kingman Daily Miner: Although a higher minimum wage is a good thing for some employees, several area businesses are struggling to find a way to make it work financially.
Although the Daily Miner found it difficult to find businesses that wanted to talk about it, President and CEO of the Kingman Area Chamber of Commerce Gregg Martin said that some businesses have told him they are struggling to adjust to the new law.
In November of last year, voters approved Proposition 206, which raised the minimum wage to $10 an hour in 2017 and mandated sick leave for employees, according to ballotpedia.org.
“Some businesses have indicated that it is going to be very difficult to stay in business,” Martin said. “What we’re hearing from our chamber businesseses is they have certainly had to make adjustments due to the rise in the minimum wage.
He said the adjustments include raising prices to “cover the cost of business,” reducing employees’ hours or staff, and “replacing human hours with technology,” if possible.
He said the mandated sick leave is another issue for businesses.
“Sick leave is as significant (an issue) as the rise in minimum wage for most businesses,” he said.
“Nobody would argue that we want the quality of life to get better for our employees, but there are real business issues to be dealt with,” he said.
Rhonda Chapman, owner of Calico’s restaurant, said she has had to reduce staff in order to “make payroll.”
“It has given some workers an unfair advantage,” she said. “The front (wait) staff got raises” and now the “kitchen help makes a comparable” wage.  https://kdminer.com/news/2017/mar/27/kingman-higher-minimum-wage-challenges-business/
Yes, i got a wage increase but I also had my hours severely cut, so I am now making less than last year, and a big reason is the wage increase and the other reason, my employer, Kmart is a really stupid company and about to die.

Here Come The Raiders

This is probably good news for Las Vegas, if they like even more crowded streets in the Strip area, an increase in crime and higher taxes.
From ESPN: The Oakland Raiders will move to Las Vegas after garnering enough votes from NFL owners on Monday to relocate to Southern Nevada.
The Raiders received 31 of 32 votes to approve the move. Twenty-four votes were needed. The Miami Dolphins were the only team to vote against the move.
"My position today was that we as owners and as a league owe it to the fans to do everything we can to stay in the communities that have supported us until all options have been exhausted. I want to wish Mark Davis and the Raiders organization the best in Las Vegas," Dolphins owner Stephen Ross said in a statement.
The Raiders will still play in Oakland in 2017, and possibly longer.
With a 65,000-seat domed stadium that will cost $1.9 billion to be shared with UNLV not expected to open until 2020, Raiders owner Mark Davis has told ESPN he plans on staying in Oakland the next two seasons. The team holds a pair of one-year options at the Oakland Coliseum.  http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/19016323/raiders-move-las-vegas-approved-31-1
Hey, it might be a good time to get season tickets for Raider games because there probably won't be a lot of people in Oakland going to their games.

Another Reason We Voted For Trump

President Trump is doing his best to stop wretched cities that claim they are sanctuary cities.
From the Washington Times: Attorney General Jeff Sessions said Monday he’ll begin punishing sanctuary cities, withholding potentially billions of dollars in federal money — and even clawing back funds that had been doled out in the past.
Speaking at the White House, Mr. Sessions said his department is preparing to dole out more than $4 billion in funds this year, but will try prevent any of it from going to sanctuaries.
“Countless Americans would be alive today … if these policies of sanctuary cities were ended,” Mr. Sessions said.
He said he’s carrying out a policy laid out by the Obama administration last year, which identified three grant programs — the COPS grants, Byrne grants and State Criminal Alien Assistance Program money — that already require sanctuary certification.
The Obama administration didn’t end up enforcing that policy, but Mr. Sessions said he’ll begin.
Sanctuaries are jurisdictions that thwart federal immigration agents’ efforts to deport illegal immigrants, usually be refusing to comply with detainer requests from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Sanctuary cities are not only dangerous to their residents, they are also a threat once a released prisoner is released and crosses into another jurisdiction.
I guess we will see if money is more powerful than actions.

What???

From Philly.com: An Idaho woman told police she crashed into a deer because she was distracted by a sasquatch in in her rearview mirror.
The Moscow-Pullman Daily News reports (http://bit.ly/2n2zshf ) that the 50-year-old Tensed woman was driving south on U.S. Highway 95 on Wednesday when she struck a deer near Potlatch.
The woman told Benewah County Sheriff's officials that she saw a sasquatch chasing a deer on the side of the road while driving. She says she checked one of her mirrors to get a second look at the beast and when she looked up, the deer ran in front of her.

RIP Free Throw King

Shaq, Wiltshire and boatloads of other basketball players could have used this guy's help.
From the NY Daily News:  California podiatrist who made history when he shot 2,750 consecutive free throws has died. He was 94.
Dr. Tom Amberry died in Long Beach on March 18, said his granddaughter, Roxanne Amberry.
The retired podiatrist earned a spot in Guinness World Records and brief celebrity in 1993 after he lobbed in shot after shot for 12 hours.

Days In The Library

Image result for image library shhh
So, far, my giving up TV for Lent has been going well, though if I wanted it tougher, I should have included giving up the computer.  Giving up TV is not the same as it was 30 years ago or so.
But I have been going to the library to check out books and actually read books, something I really haven't done much in the past few years, unless the book really, really interested me, which left out 99.999998% of books.
However something has changed at least at the library I go to.  It no longer is the quiet sanctuary it used to be.
And it's not the kids, it's the adults.  They have no problem talking loudly, talking on the phone, gossiping and other loud talk.  Heck, it is quieter in a fast food restaurant than in the library.
The kids at the library are usually quiet, something they probably learned at school but the adults forgot.
The librarians don't do anything about the loud noise because they will probably run into some crazy and have issues with them.
How the times have changed.

Good: House Postpones Health Care Bill

They only had about 7 to 8 years to come up with a replacement and now, the pathetic Speaker of the House, Paul Ryan has decided not to put the healthcare bill up for a vote.
First, who said that the GOP had to come up with a bill just 3 months or so into President Trump's presidency.
Do it right and not in haste.
2nd, not everything in ObamaCare is horrible- there are maybe 1 or 2 things that are good and keep them but there are so many things that are terrible, like:
Mandatory health coverage for workers who work over 30 hours a week.  That cost so many people full time jobs and hours.
Not selling insurance over state lines.
Not allowing other insurance companies into the field.  The current health insurance companies have their little fiefdom.  Let there be competition.
Mandating certain things into healthcare insurance was sooo stupid.  Allow consumers to pick what they need.  I don't need pregnancy or breast cancer insurance and a woman doesn't need to be covered for prostrate cancer.  Use common sense, something GOP leadership have always lacked.
I can go on but, the GOP should take it's time and get it done right.  It's not like President Trump is going anywhere, anytime soon, much to the dismay of liberals.

Crap

I work at Kmart part time and I kind of know Sears and Kmart are in trouble but this kind provides strong proof that I may be out of a job soon.
From the Chicago Tribune: After years of mounting losses, the parent company of Sears and Kmart says there is "substantial doubt" about its financial viability.
"Our historical operating results indicate substantial doubt exists related to the company's ability to continue as a going concern," Sears Holdings said Tuesday in its annual report.
The biggest question, the company said, is whether it can raise enough cash to stay afloat. It currently has $4.2 billion in debt, up from $3 billion a year ago.
Sears Holdings is the parent of Kmart Holding and Sears, Roebuck, & Co. It was formed following the March 2005 merger between the two companies, both of which are American retail icons dating back to the late 19th century. The decline of suburban shopping malls and the rise of online retail have dealt a double-whammy to the businesses. In recent years, the parent has shuttered dozens of stores and sold off some of its brands.
Sears Holding hasn't turned an annual profit since 2010. Last year, it reported losses of $2.2 billion. Annual revenue, meanwhile, declined 12 percent to $22.1 billion.
Last month, the company said it was planning a "strategic transformation" by trimming $1 billion in annual costs. It also recently announced plans to close an additional 150 Kmart and Sears stores, and sold its Craftsman brand of tools and lawn equipment to Stanley Black & Decker for more than $900 million.

At the store I work at, if it weren't for the tourists along Hwy 66, a truck stop next to the store and people who hate Wal-Mart, we would have about 5 customers a day.  The prices stink, the products stinks even more and we knowingly put damaged items on the store floor to sell.
The store I work at has had sales over $1,000,000 less than 2 years ago, or a drop of about 35%, and we are somehow still open and pull a slight profit.  It would be a shame that Sears would go out of business considering their long and storied career as a giant retailer.  But then, the buggy whip industry basically went out of business, except for the Amish who still buy buggy whips.

RIP Chuck Barris

Another legend dies, even though most people under the age of 50 don't remember him, as the host of the Gong Show, starting in 1976.
I remember watching the show weekly and seeing the mix of talented people and the crazy people who thought they had talent.
Well, the gong tolls for Barris as he died today at the age of 87.
From CNN: Chuck Barris, best known as host of the TV series "The Gong Show" and creator of "The Dating Game" and "The Newlywed Game," died Tuesday.
He was 87.
He passed away at his home in Palisades, New York, from natural causes, according to publicist Paul Shefrin.
As host of "The Gong Show," Barris introduced amateur performers to three celebrity judges, who could put a stop to terrible performances by striking the gong. Much like on "American Idol," awful performances became ratings smash hits. The TV show aired from 1976 to 1980.
While his shows were wildly popular, they were not a hit with critics. Barris was panned as the King of Schlock, Baron of Bad Taste and Ayatollah of Trasherola.
Apart from game shows, Barris found success as a writer. He penned six best-selling books and a 1962 pop song, "Palisades Park," which became a No. 3 hit in the US for Freddy Cannon.

Trump Was Right.... Again

The media an liberals laughed and scorned President Trump when he accused ex-President Obama of wire tapping and basically spying on him and others in 2016 and 2017.
I figured that for trump had to know something was up because after all, he has access to all the intelligence information and Obama didn't personally deny it.
Trump may be crazy, like a fox, but he's not stupid.  He wouldn't throw something out there that was so explosive with no evidence.
From Politico: Members of the Donald Trump transition team, possibly including Trump himself, were under U.S. government surveillance following November’s presidential election, House Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) told reporters Wednesday.
Nunes said the monitoring appeared to be done legally as a result of what's called "incidental collection," but said he was concerned because it was not related to the FBI’s investigation into Russia’s meddling in the election and was widely disseminated across the intelligence community.
“I have seen intelligence reports that clearly show that the president-elect and his team were, I guess, at least monitored,” Nunes told reporters. “It looks to me like it was all legally collected, but it was essentially a lot of information on the president-elect and his transition team and what they were doing.”
Nunes said he is heading to the White House later Wednesday to brief Trump on what he has learned, which he said came from “sources who thought that we should know it.” He said he was trying to get more information by Friday from the FBI, CIA and NSA.
Nunes described the surveillance as most likely being “incidental collection.” This can occur when a person inside the United States communicates with a foreign target of U.S. surveillance. In such cases, the identities of U.S. citizens are supposed to be kept secret — but can be “unmasked” by intelligence officials under certain circumstances.
Nunes said his new information appears to show that additional members of the Trump transition team — beyond former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn — were unmasked. This means they were identified in U.S. intelligence reports.

Now, of course the media and liberals will deny these accusations and say Nunes is crazy.
But when you are dealing with the most unethical and pathetic president in history, Obama, these reports of wire tapping and spying not surprising in any way, and in fact, expected.
