He put out this tweet:
.@realDonaldTrump when will you address the exploding cost of college and the problem of student debt ?

In my case, I never took any student loans when I went to school to become a Special Education teacher. That included going to a community college, U.W. Madison and Silver Lake College in Manitowoc, WI (which is a very good school, better than U.W.).
I did not get any grants or scholarships, but I worked at least full time jobs at a time, in the medical field and paid as I went.
Was it easy, no.
Was it worth it not having school debts, absolutely.
And now my daughter is going to college and she is paying her way and getting scholarships and grants- no debt.
So, to Mark Cuban, President Trump should not do anything about student debt.
Maybe Mark Cuban ought care about personal responsibility and tweet about that.
Honest question, have you checked out college tuitions lately? It really is a whole different ballgame from when we were college aged. I remember getting a $100 scholarship per quarter, and it MATTERED. Nowdays, it wouldn't even make a dent.
ReplyDeleteYep, my daughter is going to college now.
ReplyDeleteAnd she is doing what I am did...she is borrowing text books from the library instead of purchasing a book. If you can cut corners, it is possible. Again, it's not easy but possible.
