This Will End America As We Know It

From the Denver Post: Geraldo Rivera, who hosts a weekend show on Fox News Channel, said Thursday he's seriously thinking about running for U.S. Senate in New Jersey.
"Buckle your seat belts!" said Rivera before announcing, on his radio show on WABC-AM in New York, that he is "truly contemplating" a Senate bid. He said he has spoken to some people in the New Jersey GOP about a run, but he didn't say what they told him. Rivera got a mixed response when he asked his 30,000 Twitter followers how they feel about him challenging either Sen. Frank Lautenberg or Newark Mayor Cory Booker. At 89, Lautenberg is the oldest sitting U.S. senator. The Democrat hasn't said if he will seek re-election. Booker, also a Democrat, has announced he is exploring a run but hasn't made clear if he would challenge Lautenberg in a primary, should he seek another term. No Republican has formally announced an interest in running.

If Rivera is the best the GOP can come up with, then they are even worse shape than I thought.

Where Were You 10 Years Ago?

It's been 10 years since the Space Shuttle Columbia disintegrated in the Texas skies Feb. 1, 2003, w
From the Houston Chronicle:

Shock Jock Mocks Lady With Down Syndrome

From the New York Daily News: A shock jock who mocked a woman with Down Syndrome after she mistakenly called into his show has been suspended from an Ohio radio station.
Kellie Baker, 30, who has Down Syndrome, was trying to call a friend, but mistakenly dialed The Mo Show at Q92, a radio station near Canton, Ohio.
DJ Mo issued an apology at 2 p.m. today on 92.5 WDJQ, stating that he is willing to meet Baker for a face-to-face chat.
“At the time of the call, I honestly believed it was a prank. However, that doesn’t excuse what happened or what I did. I take full responsibility. I am truly sorry and I hope I can earn your trust back,” DJ Mo said in an audio file released BY Q92....
The call took place Jan. 21, and as soon as Baker called DJ Mo the trouble started:
DJ Mo: You what, the who, the where?
Baker: I talk to Kelly Ann Burkhart.
DJ Mo: You what?
Baker: Okay. I want to talk to your daughter. Kelly Ann Burkhart.
DJ Mo: Eh, Uh… I don’t want to come across — obviously you have some sort of a speech impediment.
Baker: Uh…no, this my voice.....
As soon as Baker hung up the phone, she frantically called her mom. She was crying as she explained what happened, according to Ball.
“She told my mom, ‘I’m a 30 year old woman, I have feelings too, and I hurt, too. Why would he make fun of me?’” Ball said.
The Bakers believe that DJ Mo can screen conversations before they go on air. An attorney for the station declined to comment on whether DJ Mo pre-recorded Baker’s conversation.
“He knows that she dialed the wrong number,” Ball said. “This never needed to be aired, period.”
Ball said her family was “outraged” by the DJ’s behavior. At first, they wanted the disk jockey fired.
But after several family meetings, the Bakers decided that to use the opportunity to spread awareness about how people with disabilities should be treated.
Read more: http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/dj-suspended-mocking-syndrome-woman-article-1.1252671#ixzz2Jd07vLfj
To mock a person with disabilities, and I don't think the DJ would have mocked her if he had known she had Down Syndrome, to me, is not entertainment.  But I'm old school where I was raised to respect people.
On the other hand, the DJ does have a point: Text messages coming in: “Hey Mo, calm down. You’re a great guy, if no one can take a joke theydon’t have to listen to your show.” “Still love your show Mo.” “Mo don’t get discouraged people need tolighten up.” See I nee-- you gotta understand something alright? I understand that. I totally get that. Peopledo need to lighten up. You need to understand the context in which something is being said. What’shappening is this… all this anti-bullying, this… uh, PC stuff is ruining entertainment. I really believe that. It’s ruining entertainment. It’s ruining what I do… what a lot of people do. And ye--- ya run into adilemma… when you know what you’re capable of doing and… you just can’t do it. You, you can’t do itanymore. Eh-uh- it just-- the, the, the radio industry just is what it is, man. You know what’s funny is back when I was younger and I got in to the business I didn’t care. I just did whatever I wanted. Now there wasgood and bad to that.
I do agree that now, you have to be politically correct.  For instance a San Fran 49er yesterday came out against a gay football player being in the 49er locker room and he was just trashed for speaking his mind.   He then was forced to apologize.  Why?  He spoke his mind and had his opinion  but he was forced to apologize.  If the gay community cannot handle what some football player says, then they are in some serious trouble.
Family Guy rips on everybody, including the disabled, Christians, stroke, cancer and AIDs victims, among others.  No one protests them, at least not like this family, but this case  revolves around an individual, so that is a little different.
In the end, I don't think the DJ  knew he was ripping on a Down Syndrome lady but he probably shouldn't have been ripping on a disabled person who could not defend themselves either.  On the other hand, we are also  to damn politically correct.

I Agree With The Pastor, Kind Of

From the San Fran Chronicle:
There are two lessons to be learned from this week’s stories on a pastor who complained on a receipt about tipping a server “more than God.” One – don’t complain about things via restaurant receipt, thus providing stilted servers written evidence of your stinginess. Two – don’t post such complaints online if you’re a server and you want to keep your job.
St. Louis pastor Alois Bell, disagreed with an 18 percent gratuity charge added to her Applebee’s bill, and let it be known on her receipt, writing “I give God 10% why do you get 18″ and scratching out the gratuity charge, replacing it with a zero, TheSmokingGun.com reports.  http://blog.sfgate.com/hottopics/2013/01/31/waitress-fired-after-posting-controversial-pastor-receipt-on-reddit/
I'm from the school that a server has to earn their tips and if they do a bad job, they get a bad tip, if they do average job, they get an average tip and if they do a really good job, of course, they get a good tip.
But for a restaurant to mandate a tip, except in a large group setting, and that would have to be negotiable, is wrong, especially a 18% tip.
Unless the servers did a horrible job, the pastor should have given a tip, even a little one, after all, that is how most restaurant servers make their money.  If the pastor doesn't want to give a tip, then go to McDonalds or Burger King or another place where tipping is not necessary.
My guess is if the pastor goes out to another restaurant where tipping is allowed, her service isn't going to be the greatest.

Most People Would Call This Theft

From the San Fran Chronicle: Squatters in multi-million dollar homes? Yes, indeed,  in the tony beachfront Boca Raton, FL.
According to Zillow property records, 580 Golden Harbour Drive sold for $2,478,410 in September of 2012. Now, not even a year later, it’s bank owned. But that bank, Bank of America,  isn’t really in the property management business, which is why this giant home stood empty long, and apparently not very securely locked up. Enter Andre Barbosa–  literally. The 23 year old is living in the home, claiming squatter’s rights. The Sun Sentinel reports that  ”The police can’t move him. No one saw him breaking into the 5-bedroom house, so it’s a civil matter. And representatives for the real owner, Bank of America, said they are aware of the situation and are following a legal process.”  And it’s not an easy process. Instead, it will involve taking Barbosa to court.
“Adverse Possession”
It only gets more complicated. By invoking an obscure but never rescinded nor revised Florida law, Barbosa is using “adverse possession” to justify his claim in the house, as it allows a person to move in and claim title of a property “if they can stay there seven years.” Florida has suffered more than one similar case. The Sun Sentinel makes reference to a “handful” of adverse possession claims making their way through the Palm Beach County Property Appraiser’s Office, but Barbosa’s stands out because the house he’s possessing (adversely) is so valuable. And though Barbosa is certainly eccentric, posting a sign that he is the “living beneficiary to the Divine Estate being superior of commerce and usury” on the front of the home, he isn’t stupid. He even contacted the Appraiser’s Office to alert them that his tenancy had begun, presumably as he intends to stay for the required seven years.  http://blog.sfgate.com/ontheblock/2013/01/31/squatter-takes-over-2-5-million-bank-owner-fl-mansion/
Theft.  Trespassing.  Stupidity.
And the cops can't do anything because the cops didn't see the thief go the house?  Hey, maybe I can use that to break into a house in Las Vegas and see what Metro says.  I suspect they will have their say with a couple billy club hits and a couple of taser shots.

More Government Intrusion Into Our Lives

From CBS DC: A ‘Paycheck Fairness Act’ introduced in Congress last week would require employers to show pay disparity is related to job-performance and prohibit employer retaliation for sharing salary information with coworkers.
Senator Barbara A. Mikulski and Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro, both Democrats, said their legislation is aimed at closing the pay gap between men and women and would also address loopholes in the 1963 Equal Pay Act.
Currently, the law allows employers to sue or otherwise punish employees for sharing their salary information and women still make just 77 cents on their male counterpart’s dollar, according to Sen. Mikulski’s office. http://washington.cbslocal.com/2013/01/31/mikulskis-paycheck-fairness-act-would-allow-employees-to-discuss-salaries/
I really don't care what my co-workers make and quite honestly, as a worker in the private sector, besides being a teacher, I don't want my co-workers know what I make.
Public employees are a different animal because they are paid by the taxpayer and we should have the right to know what public employees make.
But this is an area that the nanny Mikulski and DeLauro just don't belong.

Thanks For The Memories

He will be missed, both as a player but as a gentleman.
From jsonline:  In 1999, former Green Bay Packers general manager Ron Wolf selected wide receiver Donald Driver in the seventh round of the draft and then told him it was up to him to take advantage of the chance he was given.
To say Driver did anything but take full advantage would be a fabrication.
After 14 seasons with the Packers, Driver is retiring. The club will hold a retirement party open to the public Wednesday, Feb. 6, at 11 a.m. at the Lambeau Field Atrium, according to a statement released by the Packers this morning.
A limited number of tickets, free of charge, will be available to fans on a first-come, first-served basis in person at the Packers’ ticket office, beginning at 9 a.m. Friday, Feb. 1. Distribution will be limited to four tickets per person.
"It was just time sitting down with the wife and kids," said Driver, who was taking part in a charity event here at Super Bowl XLVII. "I’ve always said I never want to wear another uniform. I’ve always said that I owe it to the fans to retire as a Packer.
"I feel like I can still play, but if I can’t play for my organization then I can’t play for anyone else. I’m happy with the decision I made. My wife and kids made it real easy for me. It will be a little tougher on Feb. 6. I’m going to get emotional.
"I’m trying not to get too emotional today, but Feb. 6 I know will be emotional." http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/189178031.html

Another Reason Why Sandoval Is Not A Conservative

I'm sure moderate Republicans love him but if you are a conservative, you have to admit that you are starting to loathe Gov. Brian Sandoval of Nevada.
I supported Sandoval for governor but if there is a conservative running in a primary against him next year, I won't be voting for Sandoval.
From the LVRJ: Nevadans could soon see one of the biggest expansions of state government in modern history as Medicaid, a program that provides health care coverage to low-income residents, moves to cover more than 170,000 new enrollees by 2015.
The projected increase from 319,827 Medicaid recipients at the end of the current budget on June 30, 2013, to 490,103 on June 30, 2015, represents a 53 percent increase over two years. Total enrollment would represent nearly 18 percent of the state's entire population.
The program's expansion, paid jointly by the state and federal government, is largely because of Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act - Obamacare - provisions to kick in on Jan. 1, 2014.
Gov. Brian Sandoval supports the expansion and has included it in his proposed 2013-15 budget. It is now up to lawmakers to debate the expansion and other aspects of the program. There has been strong bipartisan support for the recommendation.
Mike Willden, director of the Department of Health and Human Services, said it is easily the single largest undertaking in his 25 years with the agency.
"It will be huge," he said. "From eligibility workers, new offices, automated systems, mental health, Medicaid. It is a very large expansion."
The state Welfare Division would hire 440 more workers in the new budget primarily because of the Medicaid expansion, Willden said.  http://www.lvrj.com/news/medicaid-plan-called-one-of-nevada-government-s-biggest-expansions-189110651.html
Yep, that's we need, more people on the public dole and more government workers and not enough taxes to support this program, if not immediately, but it will be in a couple of years.
Hey Sandoval, how many Nevada Congressional Republicans supported ObamaCare?  Answer: 0
Gov. Sandoval=RINO

Wow, There Must be No More Unemployment

From Fox News: As new weekly jobs numbers emerged Thursday showing a jump in unemployment claims and a report released the previous day showed the economy shrinking in late 2012, President Obama is effectively laying off his jobs council.
The layoff -- which comes in the form of the administration not renewing the council, which sunsets Thursday -- takes off the table a first-term panel set up to field ideas from the business community for spurring growth. But the administration was accused all along of never taking full advantage of the group at a time when the economy desperately needed those ideas.
The council itself, a group of business and labor leaders, hasn't met officially in more than a year. The group was tasked with making recommendations to Obama to help create jobs, but the 26 members only met four times in two years.
As the council expires Thursday with no plans to extend it, House Speaker John Boehner's office panned the president's alleged disinterest in the group.
"To understand the abysmal nature of our economic recovery, look no further than the president's disinterest in learning lessons from actual job creators," spokesman Brendan Buck said. "Whether ignoring the group or rejecting its recommendations, the president treated his Jobs Council as more of a nuisance than a vehicle to spur job creation."

Could it be that this Job's Council was just a political stunt?
Nah.

Senile/Coward/Pathetic Harry Reid At It Again

I guess when you live in the Ritz Carlton in Washington D.C. and have a large entourage that would make Floyd Mayweather jealous, you would also have delusions.
From The Hill: Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) on Thursday said the American economy is "in a recovery" despite the decline in the nation's gross domestic product (GDP).
Reid made the remark after Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) blamed the White House for the unexpected contraction in the economy
“[McConnell] continues bad mouthing the recovery,” Reid said on the Senate floor. “We are in a recovery.”
On Wednesday, the Commerce Department announced that the nation's economy unexpectedly shrank by 0.1 percent in the fourth quarter of 2012. Echoing the White House, Reid blamed the GOP's “austerity and brinkmanship” for the plunge.
“Growth went down in the fourth quarter because of reduced government spending,” Reid said. “The economy was rejecting the austerity and brinkmanship.”
Read more: http://thehill.com/blogs/floor-action/senate/280307-reid-we-are-in-a-recovery#ixzz2JbupDhEO
Apparently, when there is a 20+% unemployment rate in Nevada, that must qualify as a recovery in Reid's eyes.
When food and gas prices keep rising, when it cost a days wages to eat at McDonalds for a family of 4, with medical insurance keeps rising because of ObamaCare, a loss of 2% of wages because of the Obama tax hikes and more.
Come on, Coward/Liar/Senile Reid, just resign.  You are an embarrassment to Nevada and you have done you level best to destroy the economy of Nevada.  Just quit before nature takes it's course and you end up in the same hospital Rep. Steven Brooks was in this past weekend.  (a psychiatric hospital)

Grocery Shopping Hint

If you go grocery shopping, tomorrow is the day to go as we are about to hit a perfect storm of events that will make grocery shopping a nightmare.
On Friday, will be the first of the month, when food stamps are usually issued and many welfare and Social Security benefits are paid.
It is also a Friday, when many paychecks are issued and for those who get paid at the end of the month, more paychecks issued.
Finally, this is Super Bowl weekend and you will have a lot of people shopping for Super Bowl parties they will host or attend.
It's possible some of the more popular and least expensive grocery stores, they will run out of popular food and beverages.
And if you go shopping Friday, Saturday and Sunday morning, you probably will encounter long lines when checking out.
So, if you go grocery shopping, do it tomorrow or you will face the consequences of food shortages and long lines.

More MSNBC Slime

From the Atlanta Journal Constitution:
MSNBC invited viewers Wednesday to draw their own conclusions about whether the parent of a Connecticut school shooting victim was heckled at a legislative hearing but didn't address criticism that it aired a deceptively edited video of the event.
The NBC-owned cable news network found itself under attack for its editing practices less than a year after three employees of NBC or an NBC-owned station lost their jobs over the editing of a 911 call in the Trayvon Martin case.
On Monday, MSNBC's Martin Bashir reported on hearing testimony given that day by Neil Heslin, whose 6-year-old son, Jesse, was killed last month in the elementary school massacre in Newtown, Conn.
In the hushed hearing room, Heslin said, "I ask if there's anybody in this room that can give me one reason or challenge this question: why anybody in this room needs to have ... one of these assault-type weapons or military weapons or high-capacity clips?"
Heslin paused for five seconds and looked around him. No one else spoke.
"Not one person can answer that question," he said.
Then, someone in the audience shouted: "The Second Amendment shall not be infringed."
After the audience was admonished by a legislator not to speak, Heslin said, "Anyway, we're all entitled to our own opinion, and I respect their opinions and thoughts, but I wish they'd respect mine and give it a little bit of thought."
Video aired by Bashir Monday omitted the challenge, depicting Heslin saying: "Why anybody in this room needs to have ... one of these assault-type weapons or military weapons." At that point, without any pause, the audience member's interjection about the Second Amendment was heard. Heslin's comment about respecting opinions was omitted.
The camera then focused on Bashir, who said, "a father's grief interrupted by the cries of a heckler."
The passage as aired by MSNBC received criticism for being deceptive.
"This is not how a legitimate, professional news organization operates," said Brent Bozell, founder of the Media Research Center, a conservative media watchdog. "MSNBC's relentless anti-gun advocacy is bad enough, but this is downright dishonest."
MSNBC spokeswoman Lauren Skowronski did not immediately address questions about why MSNBC made the changes or whether criticism that it was misleading is valid.  http://www.ajc.com/ap/ap/crime/msnbc-criticized-for-editing-of-gun-hearing-video/nWBZH/
Why can't these "news organizations" just report the news and stop the false editing.
And to those who criticize Fox News, show me where the falsely edited a story to fit their agenda.

No Wonder He Wants Immigration Reform

From the L.A. Times: Sen. Robert Menendez of New Jersey, a key player in the effort to overhaul immigration laws, denied allegations that he consorted with prostitutes during trips to the Dominican Republic with a longtime friend and campaign donor whose South Florida office was raided by the FBI.
FBI agents carted away records from the West Palm Beach office of Dr. Salomon Melgen, an ophthalmologist, on Tuesday night. A federal law enforcement official said Melgen was “one of their targets” in an investigation into healthcare fraud by the FBI and the U.S. attorney’s office in Miami.
The FBI declined to say Wednesday whether it was investigating Menendez, a Democrat who was reelected last year to his second Senate term.
Menendez is one of eight senators -- four Democrats and four
Republicans -- who unveiled proposals Monday for sweeping changes to immigration laws, including a pathway to citizenship for millions of undocumented immigrants. He is on tap to chair the Senate Foreign Relations Committeehttp://www.latimes.com/news/politics/la-na-pn-fbi-menendez-20130130,0,1823587.story
Of course Menendez wants immigration reform- he would like to import his little buddies (what the LA Times forget to mention is this is about underage prostitution.)

So, That's All He Said?

From the Los Angeles Times: More than once, Hadiya Pendleton and President Obama walked the same streets.
Last week, the high school sophomore performed as a majorette at his inauguration in Washington. On Tuesday, she was gunned down in a park  a mile from Obama’s home on Chicago’s South Side.
By Wednesday, as word of Hadiya’s death rippled around the country, an official petition cropped up asking that Obama and his family return to their hometown to attend the girl’s funeral.
“The president and first lady's thoughts and prayers are with the family of Hadiya Pendleton,” White House spokesman Jay Carney said Wednesday. When reporters asked Carney about the petition, he said he hadn’t heard about it yet and didn’t have any scheduling updates.  http://www.latimes.com/news/nation/nationnow/la-na-nn-white-house-hadiya-pendleton-20130130,0,4721837.story?track=rss&utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+latimes%2Fmostviewed+%28L.A.+Times+-+Most+Viewed+Stories%29
It will be interesting to see if Obama attends the funeral.  He ought to go and pretend that he actually cares about what is going on in his supposed hometown.
But for Obama saying his prayers are with the family of Hadiya Pendleton is not good enough.  Obama ought to say something about the murders in Chicago and how that city is out of control.
But Obama won't do that because he is a little pencil neck chickenshit who is afraid of hurting the mayor of Chicago, Rahm Emmanuel, feelings and his political power, because Emmanuel used to work for Obama in the White House.  He doesn't want to make the mayor look bad, so he sacrifices the lives of kids like Hadiya Pendleton and others when he doesn't speak out about the violence in Chicago.

Put On A Bad Concert...

Actually, this really sucks as the violence in Mexico still continues:
At least 10 bodies have been pulled from a well near the site where members of a Mexican band went missing after a performance.
A total of 20 people disappeared on Friday following Colombian-style group Kombo Kolombia's show in Monterrey the previous night, including 16 musicians and crew.
An official from the Nuevo Leon State Investigative Agency said the number of bodies found at a vacant car park in the nearby town of Mina could increase....
People living near the bar in Hidalgo municipality north of Monterrey - where the band had played a private show - reported hearing gunshots at around 4am on Friday, followed by the sound of vehicles speeding away.
The official added that gunfire is common in the area, and that investigators found spent bullets nearby.
Relatives filed an official report about their missing loved ones on Friday, after they lost mobile telephone contact with them following the Thursday night performance.
When family members went to the bar to investigate, they found the band members' vehicles still parked outside....
Members of other musical bands, usually groups that performed 'narcocorridos' celebrating the exploits of drug traffickers, have been killed in Mexico in recent years.
But Kombo Kolombia did not play that type of music and its lyrics did not deal with violence or drug trafficking.  http://news.sky.com/story/1043763/missing-mexican-band-bodies-found-in-well?f=ob
It's a shame that the drug violence in Mexico still continues and people are still being slaughtered, just like in Chicago.

Obamaland Voter Fraud

Wonder how Obama won the election? (Well, the GOP put up some crap candidates, but that's besides the point)
From the Chicago Sun Times: Cook County Clerk David Orr wants to avoid the shenanigans that have traditionally plagued Election Day in Cicero.
There was the time in 2009 when off-duty, armed Chicago Police officers were stationed inside polling places, a clear no-no. And the countless reports of intimidation at polls and electioneering. In November, an alleged member of the Latin Kings was arrested at a polling site for allegedly harassing a poll worker....
In Cicero, allegations made by candidates and community groups have prompted the clerk’s office to send workers out door-to-door looking at alleged vacant properties that have registered voters. So far, of 87 suspected addresses, 35 sites appeared vacant. Still, someone reported voting from three of those apparently vacant homes as recently as November, according the latest findings. The clerk’s office is investigating.
The clerk’s office is also looking at more than 250 addresses where the voters have allegedly moved away, and workers are randomly calling people who apply to vote by mail to make sure voters didn’t feel pressured to apply for the mail ballot. So far, about a dozen people have told the clerk’s office they felt pressure to apply, said spokeswoman Courtney Greve, adding that it’s unusual for these calls to produce any such reports.”  http://www.suntimes.com/17906214-761/cook-county-election-officials-paying-special-attention-to-cicero.html
Gotta love Chicago area politics, though, but unfortunately, this occurs all across the country in urban areas.

Stupid, But Not Illegal

From the Detroit Free Press: People can’t be charged with a crime simply because they possessed a firearm while intoxicated inside their own home, the Michigan Court of Appeals has ruled in a case arising from an incident involving former House Speaker Craig DeRoche.
Novi police charged DeRoche with possessing a firearm while intoxicated in 2010 after they were called to his home following a dispute with a neighbor. A district court dismissed the charge, based on DeRoche’s Second Amendment rights. The prosecutor appealed to the circuit court, which upheld the dismissal on the basis of an unlawful search. In a unanimous ruling released today, a three-judge panel of the Michigan Court of Appeals upheld the dismissal, based on the Second Amendment.
“While Second Amendment rights are not unlimited, this conduct is protected,” the panel said.
“Aside from the statute at issue, defendant was not engaging in an unlawful behavior, nor were there any facts to suggest that defendant possessed the handgun for any unlawful purposes.” The panel said preventing people who are intoxicated from committing crimes with handguns is important, but the infringement on DeRoche’s Second Amendment rights in this case “was not substantially related to that objective.” “The government cannot justify infringing on defendant’s Second Amendment right to possess a handgun in his home simply because defendant was intoxicated in the general vicinity of the firearm,” the panel said.  http://www.freep.com/article/20130130/NEWS15/130130076/It-s-not-illegal-drunk-your-home-gun-Michigan-appeals-court-rules?odyssey=tab|topnews|text|FRONTPAGE
I agree with the ruling (as an aside, I don't own a gun, never have and only shot a rifle when in basic training in the Air Force and only hit the target 5 times out of 200 shots)
Just because a guy is drunk on his property and has a gun doesn't mean he forfeits his right to own a gun, though the anti-gun nuts would use this as an excuse to confiscate a person's guns.  The guy didn't break any laws, according to the court, so there is no case.
Good for the court and good for common sense, but stupid to be drunk around guns.

What A Shock: Narcissist Obama Lies Again

Don't you hate it when people lie while trying to make them sound better.  Don't you hate when people lie when they don't have to?  Welcome to another episode of "As The Narcissist
Obama World Turns".
From Fox News: News of President Obama's apparently long-secret fondness for skeet shooting came as a surprise to those who say they have witnessed the president's "awkward" attempts at pinging the (clay) pigeons.
This has only happened with the president at Camp David, at most, a couple of times, according to a source who says he has been to the retreat on a half-dozen visits with Obama.
"The only time he shot skeet was for President's Cup," said the source, referring to a shooting competition tradition involving the presidential Marine guards. "I was there. He stayed for about five minutes, and couldn't leave fast enough."
Skeet shooting "is very hard," said the source. "Especially for someone not used to guns ... He couldn't have been more uncomfortable."...
Obama professed his sweetness for skeet shooting during an interview posted online Sunday with The New Republic, when asked if he had ever fired a gun.
"Yes, in fact, up at Camp David, we do skeet shooting all the time," Obama said. "Not the girls, but oftentimes guests of mine go up there. And I have a profound respect for the traditions of hunting that trace back in this country for generations. And I think those who dismiss that out of hand make a big mistake."

Idiots

From the San Fran Chronicle: Reality TV stars Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt frittered away their $10 million fortune because they believed the world would end in 2012.
In 2010, Pratt revealed the couple was broke and on the verge of bankruptcy, and they even gave up their luxury home and moved in with his father to save money.
He has now admitted they deliberately spent all their cash before December 21, 2012 —the day the world was set to end, according to a prophesy based on the Mayan calendar.
He tells Britain’s OK! magazine, “We made and spent at least 10 million dollars. The thing is, we heard that the planet was going to end in 2012. We thought, we have got to spend this money before the asteroid hits.  http://blog.sfgate.com/dailydish/2013/01/29/heidi-montag-and-spencer-pratt-spent-fortune-ahead-of-mayan-apocalypse-prophecy/?gta=commentlistpos#commentlistpos
This couple also believes in other hoaxes like global warming, UFO's, unicorns and fairies with pixie dust.

This Is Just Wrong

A triple murderer who was on death roll get's paroled and to what?  Some fame and perhaps fortune.
From San Fran Chronicle: Wearing a glacial-white suit and tie, set off by a blood-orange shirt, the compact, dark-haired vocalist Rick Stevens leaned into "You're Still a Young Man," his signature song as lead vocalist of Tower of Power, when the band burst out of the East Bay funk scene 40 years ago and Stevens had a promising future....
Stevens has been out of circulation for quite a long time. Sentenced to death for his part as triggerman in a 1976 triple slaying, basically a drug deal gone bad, Stevens was paroled six months ago. After 36 years behind bars, he emerged to find the world had changed radically....
But Thursday at Bimbo's 365 Club, when he took the stage at the annual Voices of Latin Rock fundraiser, the song's lyrics collided with his own real-life narrative, and the performance fused into autobiography.
"I'm back once again," he sang, his eyes glistening with tears.
Stevens once saw his life flash before him when he almost drowned as a child, but this was different. Blinded by the spotlights, the 72-year-old vocalist said he could make out only a few faces in the front rows. But he could see all the cell phone cameras going off like miniature fireworks. He could feel the love in the room.

This guy should never been taken off death row and certainly not paroled. He killed 3 people, and while they were drug dealers, they were people.  While this thug got to turn his life around, he denied the 3 murdered subjects the chance to do the same.
Welcome to the liberal world of California.

Biggest Ego Maybe

From the Sacramento Bee: Colin Kaepernick may be a recent phenomenon for the national media, but Randy Moss said the young 49ers quarterback caught his eye as far back as May....
Moss, who had formally addressed the media only six times this season before Tuesday, spoke for more than 60 minutes on Super Bowl media day, covering topics from Kaepernick to his year away from football to his desire to play another season to whether he's ever had an imaginary, online girlfriend. (Answer: no.)
He made the biggest wave when he said – more than once – that he considered himself the greatest receiver of all time.
"I don't really live on numbers," Moss said. "I live on impact and what you're able to do out on that field. So I really believe that I'm the greatest receiver to ever play this game."
Jerry Rice, of course, hasn't even begun to relax his vise grip on that best-ever title both in impact and in statistics.
In his 14th season, Rice caught 82 passes for 1,157 yards and nine touchdowns for the 49ers. He played another six seasons and grabbed 33 more scoring passes. Moss' regular-season tally for 2012: 28 catches for 434 yards and three touchdowns. http://www.sacbee.com/2013/01/30/5150617/49ers-moss-says-he-sees-greatness.html Jerry Rice and Don Hutson of the Green Bay Packers, along with many other wide receivers are greater than Randy Moss.  While it was difficult to guard him in his prime, he had other problems, like he was very poisonous in the locker room and did his own thing.Greatest receiver ever?  Nope, he only wins the Biggest and Fattest Ego award.

This Is Very Cool

From the New York Daily News: Quadruple amputee Brendan Marrocco can’t wait to take his new arms — and his old Dodge Charger — out for a quick spin.
And the gutsy Iraq War veteran is even looking forward to flipping off the first driver who gets in his way.
“I am very excited to do that again,” the 26-year-old Staten Island native said Tuesday at Johns Hopkins Hospital “Everyone needs to know they're No. 1 sometimes.”
The wisecracking Marrocco, recovering from a history-making double-arm transplant, said his hands already feel like his own.
Marrocco lost all four limbs on Easter Sunday 2009 in a Iraq bombing that killed one soldier and wounded another. His upper limbs were replaced in a 13-hour operation on Dec. 18.

I hope the surgery is a success and that many more limb transplants will happen to help those who have lost limbs in war or other activities.

I Guess These People Read This Blog

From the New York Daily News: President Obama's claim that he goes skeet shooting "all the time" at Camp David has been met with some raised eyebrows, and a challenge from one Republican congresswoman who offered to test his skills in a competition.
The President embraced the hobby when he was asked by The New Republic magazine if he's ever fired a gun.
"Yes, in fact up at Camp David, we do skeet shooting all the time," Obama replied.
The comment came as a surprise to people on both sides of the gun control debate.
It appeared to be the first time the President has mentioned a skeet-shooting hobby. And while Obama has been photographed playing basketball, golfing and biking - he hasn't been snapped shooting at clay pigeons.
Rep. Marsha Blackburn was one of several skeptics who say the President isn't being a straight shooter about his gun hobby.
"If he is a skeet shooter, why have we not heard of this? Why have we not seen photos? Why hasn't he referenced this at any point in time?" Blackburn said Monday night on CNN.
The Tennessee Republican then issued a challenge.
"I think he should invite me to Camp David, and I'll go skeet shooting with him and I bet I'll beat him," she said.
Other doubters weighed in on Twitter.
"You're telling me the guy who sends out photos of himself at every opportunity doesn't have any showing skeet shooting?" wrote conservative commentator Katie Pavlich.
"Obama says he goes skeet shooting all the time. Haha, right… and I gave up a career in the NFL for talk radio," quipped Glenn Beck.

I wrote on this right after this came out. Obama is lying and the only proof he can offer would be a video of him shooting, and it has to be released by Thursday, otherwise it will be a fake..  Still pictures can be manipulated very easily but a video would be just a little harder.
Obama is lying about skeet shooting.
The only thing Obama has shot off is his mouth.

Surprise, Surprise, Surprise

Until now, Jim Nabors, shown performing before the Indy 500 in 2004, has never confirmed to the media that he is gay. Photo: MICHAEL CONROY, AP / AP

How many people really thought Jim (Gomer Pyle) Nabors was straight?
The actor best known for playing "Gomer Pyle" in "The Andy Griffith Show" and a spinoff comedy in the 1960s has married his male partner of 38 years.
Hawaii News Now reports Jim Nabors and his partner, Stan Cadwallader, traveled from their Honolulu home to Seattle to be married on Jan. 15.

Liar Liar, Pants On Fire

From the Chicago Tribune: Outgoing U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Tuesday cast doubt on speculation she might run for the White House in 2016.
In an interview taped for National Public Radio, Clinton was asked what questions she needs to answer for herself as she decides whether to run for president.                                                                                                                                                                "I'm not even posing those questions. I am really looking forward to stepping off the fast track that I've been on. I've been out of politics as Secretary of State. I don't see myself getting back into politics," she said, according to an excerpt of the interview.

Sad News From Obamaland Of FIB's

From the Chicago Tribune: After taking their exams Tuesday, Hadiya Pendleton and a group of others decided to hang out at a park on Tuesday just blocks away from their high school on the South Side.
But the trip ended in tragedy when the 15-year-old King College Prep sophomore was fatally shot about a week after she attended President Barack Obama’s inauguration and performed at inaugural events with the King College Prep band and drill team.
Penldeton and a16-year-old boy wounded in the attack were shot in a park near the school about 2:20 p.m., in the 4500 block of South Oakenwald Avenue, police said.
Most of those who were in the park were gang members, and those in the group did not stay on scene to help after the shootings, according to police. The shooting occurred around 2:20 p.m. in the 4500 block of South Oakenwald Avenue.
They boy remained in serious condition Tuesday night. He was also a student at King, according to Pendleton’s friends, though her relatives weren’t sure what school the boy attended.
Friends of the slain girl said King was dismissed early today because of exams, and students went to the park on Oakenwald--something they don't usually do.
Friends said the girl was a majorette and a volleyball player, a friendly and sweet presence at King, one of the top 10 CPS selective enrollment schools. Pendleton performed with other King College students at President Barack Obama’s inaugural events.

If this doesn't get the asshole in chief, Obama, to get involved with the slaughtering of Chicagoans, what will?

And We Want To Trust These Idiots To Enforce Gun Laws?

From the jsonline:
A store calling itself Fearless Distributing opened early last year on an out-of-the-way street in Milwaukee's Riverwest neighborhood, offering designer clothes, athletic shoes, jewelry and drug paraphernalia.
Those working behind the counter, however, weren't interested in selling anything.
They were undercover agents from the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives running a storefront sting aimed at busting criminal operations in the city by purchasing drugs and guns from felons.
But the effort to date has not snared any major dealers or taken down a gang. Instead, it resulted in a string of mistakes and failures, including an ATF military-style machine gun landing on the streets of Milwaukee and the agency having $35,000 in merchandise stolen from its store, a Journal Sentinel investigation has found.
When the 10-month operation was shut down after the burglary, agents and Milwaukee police officers who participated in the sting cleared out the store but left behind a sensitive document that listed names, vehicles and phone numbers of undercover agents.
And the agency remains locked in a battle with the building's owner, who says he is owed about $15,000 because of utility bills, holes in the walls, broken doors and damage from an overflowing toilet.
The sting resulted in charges being filed against about 30 people, most for low-level drug sales and gun possession counts. But agents had the wrong person in at least three cases. In one, they charged a man who was in prison - as a result of an earlier ATF case - at the time agents said he was selling drugs to them.
Other cases reveal that the agency's operation was paying such high prices that some defendants bought guns from stores such as Gander Mountain and sold them to the agents for a quick profit. The mistakes by agents are troubling and suggest a lack of planning and oversight, according to veterans of the ATF, who learned about the operation from the Journal Sentinel. The newspaper combed through police reports, court documents, social media and materials left behind by the ATF, all of which provide a rare view inside an undercover federal operation.   http://www.jsonline.com/watchdog/watchdogreports/atfs-milwaukee-sting-operation-marred-by-mistakes-failures-mu8akpj-188952581.html?abc=Ct5vpWpS
The ATF seems to be a pretty incompetent agency, when you consider this case, Fast and Furious and others but Obama wants them to be an agency to help enforce gun control laws.
Thanks, but no thanks.

From A Horrible Secretary Of State To A Horrible Senator

Hillary Clinton, one of the worst Secretary of States in recent memory, is thankfully almost out of the State Department and gives way to John Kerry, who is a horrible choice to be SOS (What a great abbreviation, considering the damage Clinton and Obama have done, world wide).
Meanwhile the world is exploding all around us and we are becoming less relevant in the world.
Hell, even Egyptians want a do over and get rid of a dictator that Obama has supported.
Can someone please tell me what has improved in the world since Hillary and Obama were elected?

Th Unemployment Rate In Nevada Is 20+% And What Does Obama Want To Do?

Why flood the job market with illegal aliens, of course.  I'm sure the unions will be thrilled.
From the LVRJ: There's the unemployment rate, and then there's the unemployment rate.
The official number comes out every month, and hovers these days at around 10 percent statewide and 8 percent nationally. Those rates are down from respective recession peaks of roughly 14 percent and 10 percent.
But federal officials on Monday released a more detailed analysis showing Nevada's jobs recovery remains noticeably shakier than the official rate shows, and that's affecting overall economic health in subtle ways, local experts said.
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics crunched new unemployment figures that include discouraged workers who have stopped looking for jobs, as well as underemployed part-timers who would prefer full-time positions. Their finding: Nevada's broader jobless rate, called the U-6 rate, averaged 20.3 percent in 2012, compared with an annual average of 11 percent in the official rate, which strictly counts unemployed people who are actively looking for work.
The higher U-6 rate reflects a shadow supply of jobless workers who don't show up in routine numbers, said Steve Brown, director of the Center for Business and Economic Research at UNLV.  http://www.lvrj.com/business/new-statistics-show-nevada-s-effective-jobless-rate-is-20-3-percent-188884721.html
Meanwhile, Obama came to Las Vegas to canoodle his mistress and had a little extra time to give a speech in front of a bunch of illegals and liberals.  Poor Del Sol High school, their campus was overrun by foul smelling pot smoking liberals and people who enjoy breaking the law.
And then there was the audience.

Pawn Stars Review: January 21, 2013

Well, guess what, it snows in Las Vegas and we woke up this morning, it was snowing out- not much and it melted but it was snow.
I'm down with a nasty cold and fever, so I feel for those who have had it and I wouldn't want wish it on my worst enemy.
Something new: they are doing something different.  The show starts before the opening credits/scene.  In the first episodes, they talked about cats and the seond about cookies beore they went to the opening scene/credits.
There are two new episodes tonight.
In the first episode, the first guy brought in an atlas from the Civil War era.   Ok, I never heard of this but Rick has a book pillow.  It was a family atlas of the world.
The guy wanted $1000.  Time for an expert, Rebecca.  Rebecca gave a story about the important parts of the atlas and said the title of the book said it was engraved but in reality, it wasn't engraved but still worth about $2500.  The guy still wanted $1000 and that was the selling price, with no haggling.
World's Fair Jig-Saw Cabinet - Front View
The next guy brought in a 1930's pinball.  It was a table top version- no legs. The version he brought in is in the picture.  The guy wanted $5000.  Chumlee told the guy about what was wrong but if you listen even a little bit, you can tell it was a voice over.  The guy came down to $2500 and The Old Man offered $1000 and that was the sale price.
And in the next segment, you see the fired Olivia.  The next lady brought in a Salvador Dali sculptured.  It's hard to describe other to say that it looks like a guy breaking out of an egg with a Dali signature.  They tried to call Rick because it was late  but the lady said no, she needed the money.  So, Chumlee took a chance and offered $400 and the lady went to $700 and it went for $600 and that was the sale price.  Rick was mad and made Chumlee take it to an expert.  So, they took it to Brett from Art Encounter.  And Brett said it was not a Dali but worth of $500-1000.  Chumlee then blamed Olivia.
The next guy brought in  cow collar owned by Dwight D. Eisenhower.  http://www.whitehouse.gov/about/presidents/dwightdeisenhower
It was a metal cow collar and given to him by the press core and it came with a letter.  The guy wanted $3500 or 2 ounces of gold.  Rick offered $1000 and the guy came down to $3250 and Rick stayed at $1000 but there was no sale.

In the second episode, the first lady brought in a hoover craft built for 1.  It was built by Airboard.  http://www.toxel.com/tech/2009/10/28/air-board-personal-hovercraft/
It can go as fast as 25mph.  Rick tried the hoovercraft wearing a nerdy kind of helmet. The lady wanted $15,000 and Rick offered $2000.  They lady then went to $6000 and Rick stayed at $2000 and that was the sale price.
The next guy brought a Confederate Civil War Ribbon and a letter. It came from Stonewall Jackson. http://www.biography.com/people/stonewall-jackson-9351451 The guy wanted $700.  Time for an expert, Mark from the Clark County Museums, whose beard is really getting white/grey.  The ribbon was a membership badge and the ribbon had nothing to do with Stonewall Jackson, it was just a name of a club.  The guy still wanted $700 and Corey offered $100 and that was the selling price.
The story line is putting Chumlee on a diet to lose a few pounds.  Corey said he lost over 100 pounds and so Chumlee decided to eat and get more healthy.  Chumlee went to a nutritionist and she said he weighed 273 and a boy fat percentage is 42%.  Chumlee said he had a healthful diet and exercise but in reality, he ate like a pig.

The next guy brought in a George Washington hair card.  It had1 strand of George Washington's hair.  The guy got it from Upper Deck and came in a baseball collection in 2008. The guy wanted $75,000.  Rick offered $4000.  The guy came down to $65,000 and there was no sale.
The next guy brought in a Storm trooper helmet,  it was used by the company who cannot afford to pay for the local residents who    The guy wanted $3100 and Corey offered $1000. and there was no sale.
In the final segment, the guys were eating donuts in front of Chumlee, mocking him.
That ends another 2 new episodes of Pawn Stars.  Thanks for stopping by and see you next week  when there are two `new episodes.

What A Shock

From the Weekly Standard: Not everyone will have to abide by Senator Dianne Feinstein's gun control bill. If the proposed legislation becomes law, government officials and others will be exempt.
"Mrs. Feinstein's measure would exempt more than 2,200 types of hunting and sporting rifles; guns manually operated by bolt, pump, lever or slide action; and weapons used by government officials, law enforcement and retired law enforcement personnel," the Washington Times reports.
The Huffington Post confirms these exemptions, and adds that guns owned prior to the legislation becoming law will be permissible, too. "[T]he bill includes a number of exemptions: It exempts more than 2,200 hunting and sporting weapons; any gun manually operated by a bolt, pump, lever or slide action; any weapons used by government officials and law enforcement; and any weapons legally owned as of the date of the bill's enactment."  http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/feinstein-gun-control-bill-exempt-government-officials_697732.html
Who wants to bet that members of Congress and other members of the president'scabinet will be also exempt.

It's Not The Lack Of Gun Laws That Cost You Your Family

From the Chicago Tribune: After Shirley Chambers lost her third child to gun violence in 2000, she said she felt sadder for her surviving son, Ronnie, than she did for herself.
"I only have one child left," Chambers told the Tribune at the time, "and I'm afraid that (the killing) won't stop until he's gone too."
Chambers' worst fears apparently were realized early Saturday, when police said a man named Ronnie Chambers, 33, was fatally struck when a gunman or gunmen opened fire on a van Chambers was riding in just after it arrived in the 1100 block of South Mozart Street....
LaToya was killed at age 15 in the lobby of a Cabrini-Green high-rise April 26, 2000, during an argument between her boyfriend and a 13-year-old boy, who was later convicted.
Her brothers Carlos and Jerome also were gunshot victims.
Carlos, then 18, was shot and killed just after Thanksgiving 1995 at the corner of Jackson Boulevard and State Street, apparently by a boy with whom he'd had an argument.
Jerome was shot and killed at age 23 on July 26, 2000. He had reportedly been standing at a pay phone in the 400 block of West Chicago Avenue when a maroon van pulled up and its occupant opened fire....
In a December appearance on the "The Ricki Lake Show," Chambers identified himself as a former gang member who was trying to help others stay away from that kind of life.
Police said he'd been arrested 29 times and had four felony convictions. Records show his most recent conviction was in 2005 for receiving, possessing or selling a stolen motor vehicle. He was sentenced to three years in the Illinois Department of Corrections, records show. http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/ct-met-ronnie-chambers-dead-20130127,0,7107827.story
And from the Chicago Sun Times: “He didn’t have no beef with nobody,” Shirley Chambers said. “We need tougher gun laws, where people will know they will be in prison for a long time if they choose to pick up a gun and take a life.”
Umm, sorry, but there are already laws on the books saying that if you pick up a gun and shoot and kill someone, they will end up in prison for a long time.
But having a son who was arrested 29 times, chances are that there will eventually be a bad outcome in life and death.

Damn That Global Warming

From the Minneapolis Star Tribune: Extreme cold has thwarted a Minnesota climber's third attempt to become the first person to summit Alaska's Mount McKinley solo in the dead of winter.
The Anchorage Daily News ( http://is.gd/liWrCn) says 51-year-old Lonnie Dupre told his support crew early Sunday that it was 35 below zero in a snow cave he had built at the 17,200-foot level of the 20,320-foot mountain, North America's tallest peak.
His support crew says Dupre is making his way down and will proceed as the weather permits.
Dupre — of grand Marais, Minn. — also failed in his winter attempts to summit McKinley last year and in 2011.
Only two people have completed a McKinley summit in the dead of winter — December or January — but no one has done it alone.  http://www.startribune.com/local/188612581.html
Just think, if global warming was real, then this guy wouldn't have any problems climbing Mt. McKinley.
But then global warming is a hoax brought on by Al Gore and others to make millions, if not billions of dollars.

Well, We Don't Want Him Back

Possession is 9/10's of the law.
From the Houston Chronicle: Canadian immigration officials have denied U.S. actor Randy Quaid's request for permanent resident status in Canada.
A Canadian government official confirmed late Saturday his request for permanent status has been denied. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly. Quaid can appeal the decision to the federal court.
U.S. officials last year refused to seek extradition of the actor and his wife from Canada to face felony vandalism charges in Santa Barbara, California, but authorities in the coastal town say they'll still have the couple arrested if they return to the states. http://www.chron.com/news/article/Canada-denies-Randy-Quaid-s-request-to-stay-4226699.php
Well, maybe we can trade him for someone. Maybe Joe Biden?  Nah, they would never go for that.

That Takes Balls Or Some Other Body Part

From the New York Daily News: A 28-year-old algebra teacher at a New Jersey high school has been arrested in Florida after police say she had sex with her 16-year-old student several times in her classroom and then bolted town.
U.S. Marshals arrested Jennalin Garcia-Calle, a teacher at Plainfield High School, near Newark, on Thursday in Davie, Florida and charged her with second-degree sexual assault and fourth-degree child abuse....
“What made this particularly ... unusual is that they actually had sex in school, in her classroom,” added Romankow, who went on to explain that the alleged activity is thought to have occurred during times when classes were actually in session.
“Evidently they blocked the windows and locked the door,” he said.
Read more: http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/n-teacher-busted-sex-16-year-old-student-article-1.1248997#ixzz2JFShc1up
And after having sex with the kid, she gave him a hall pass and tardy slip to get him back into school.

How About The Other 2,751?

From the New York Daily News:
They planned the murder of nearly 3,000 people on 9/11, but Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and four underlings should not be executed for their crimes, say relatives of two of their victims.
Loreen Sellitto and Phyllis Rodriguez each lost a son when their workplace at Cantor Fitzgerald was destroyed along with the World Trade Center’s south tower.
http://www.nydailynews.com/new-york/khalid-sheikh-mohammed-executed-9-11-victim-families-article-1.1249128
Talk about liberal bias- they chose 2 people out of the 2,753 victims and their families, to say they don't want the death penalty.
It's a damn shame they haven't been executed yet so they can join their 72 male virgins in the sky.

Umm, No

From the Chicago Tribune: A bipartisan group of senators has agreed on a plan to grant legal status to most of the estimated 11 million illegal immigrants in the U.S., which could form the basis for a far-reaching overhaul of immigration laws this year....
The Senate proposal would allow most of those in the country illegally to obtain probationary legal status immediately by paying a fine and back taxes and passing a background check. That would make them eligible to work and live in the U.S. They could earn a green card — permanent residency — after the government certifies that the U.S.-Mexican border has become secure, but might face a lengthy process before becoming citizens.
Obama is expected to push for a faster citizenship process that would not be conditional on border security standards being met first. The structure of the citizenship process will probably be among the most hotly debated parts of any immigration plan.
Less-controversial provisions would tighten requirements on employers to check the immigration status of new workers; increase the number of visas for high-skilled jobs; provide green cards automatically to people who earn master's degrees or PhDs in science, technology or math at U.S. universities; and create an agricultural guest-worker program.  http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/chi-immigration-overhaul-plan-senate-20130127,0,2389328.story
First, this only involves 8 senators out of 100, so it may be bi-partisan but it is hardly a majority.
I certainly have no problems with forcing employers to verify immigration status and allowing highly qualified immigrants into the country to take jobs that are unfilled because Americans don't have the proper training, experience or education. As far as the educators are concerned, I would lower it to the high school level instead of college.  If farmers cannot find workers to work the fields, sure, bring in the workers, if they couldn't find Americans to do the work.
But, other than that, this is a very stupid idea.  Very few illegals are going to pay a fine and pay back taxes.  Many of illegals barely survive now because we have seen an exodus of illegals leave the country because of the bad economy, so the remaining ones are going to pay a fine or taxes?  Unless the government is going to crackdown on the illegals if they don't go through the process, then why should they try to become citizens?  What incentive is there?
As I have said before, they way to solve the illegal immigration problem is to do the following:
Deport those who:
1. Violate the law, other than very minor traffic offenses, like illegal parking, they should be deported, no questions asked.
2.  Those who are receive any public assistance such as reduced/free lunches for the kids, welfare, food stamps, Section 8 housing etc.
3.  Deport those who receive free medical care at hospitals- stabilize their illnesses and/or injuries and then send them to their home country to receive further treatment.
4.  Mandate employers to do residency checks on employees- all employees.
If you do these items, you will reduce illegal immigration problems to where it is manageable.

See If It Is True For You

I was watching Family Guy tonight, and we put it on the DVR.  When we played the scenes when Peter and Quagmire with Joe, walking in fast motion, their feet did not move when the DVR played fast motion- forward or backward.
I thought it was a bit strange.
But it also shows I don't have much of a life either.

Ok, Let's See Some Video

President Obama says he does skeet shooting up in Camp David.
OK, let's see the video's from the past 4 years.
Pictures won't do.
Maybe he meant this:

He's Right

Even if you live right next door to a police station, there is still no guarantee you would be completely safe incase of a home intruder by a drug crazed stupid criminal.
From Fox News:  A sheriff who released a radio ad urging Milwaukee-area residents to learn to handle firearms so they can defend themselves while waiting for police said Friday that law enforcement cutbacks have changed the way police can respond to crime.
In the 30-second commercial, Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke Jr. says personal safety is no longer a spectator sport.
"I need you in the game," he says.
"With officers laid off and furloughed, simply calling 911 and waiting is no longer your best option," he adds. "You can beg for mercy from a violent criminal, hide under the bed, or you can fight back. ... Consider taking a certified safety course in handling a firearm so you can defend yourself until we get there."

Of course, the government and liberal nannies don't like what Clarke says, but they never have liked him since Clarke is a black conservative who left the liberal plantation, which is run by white liberals who demand that Blacks only think one way, just what the liberal wants them to say.  And their reward for staying on the liberal plantation?  Government benefits that guarantee them to stay in poverty, poor schools, go to prison or stay in a low paying job for life.  Some will escape by playing sports and a few more will become professionals and have a wife and family.
The lucky few that actually escape the plantation of liberalism are then ridiculed, mocked and derided.  See Clarence Thomas.

The Real California

From the San Fran Chronicle:
With the state budget balanced for the first time in years, Gov. Jerry Brown is roaring that "California is back," painting a rosier future for California with gauzy predictions of its "rendezvous with destiny."
But beneath the governor's flowery evocations of "bold pioneers" who followed "every failure with an even greater success," Brown tacitly acknowledged during his State of the State speech last week that California's present isn't what it once was....
California's reality now includes 6 million residents who live in poverty, more than at any time in its history. While the state's general fund may have stabilized, California must cover $27 billion in debt from past years and owes billions in pension obligations to state employees.
Nearly 10 percent of the state's residents remain unemployed, the third-highest rate in the country.
Brown and the Legislature were able to balance the budget because voters passed $6 billion worth of tax increases in November. The poor have made the biggest sacrifices on the altar of the budget's bottom line, as the state has cut $15 billion in health and welfare benefits to low-income Californians since 2009.
While Brown's budget this year doesn't include any additional cuts to health and welfare programs, the new reality means many poor Californians won't be getting additional help soon.

California may have balanced a fairy tale budget, they don't even come close paying off a lot of their debts and obligations.
And of course, who has run California?  Liberal Republicans liberal Democrats.

HaHa Casey Anthony Lawyers

Talk about karma.
From the Detroit Free Press: Casey Anthony filed for bankruptcy in Florida on Friday, claiming about $1,100 in assets and $792,000 in liabilities.
Court records show that Anthony, who was acquitted of killing her 2-year-old daughter Caylee in 2011, filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in federal court in Tampa. Her listed debts include $500,000 for attorney fees and costs for her criminal defense lawyer during the trial, Jose Baez; $145,660 for the Orange County Sheriff's office for a judgment covering investigative fees and costs; $68,540 for the Internal Revenue Service for taxes, interest and penalties; and $61,505 for the Florida Department of Law Enforcement for court. costs. http://www.freep.com/article/20130126/ENT07/130126058/Casey-Anthony-files-for-bankruptcy?odyssey=tab|mostpopular|text|ENT04
Oh, what a darn shame her lawyers are not going to get paid.  After all, they convinced a brain dead jury to find the bitch not guilty and  the lawyers got a baby killer freed, so I am glad they did not get paid.
I kind of doubt she will be able to get out of  paying the IRS taxes and the fees to the FDLE.

Stupid Cops?

I'll defend the cops for almost everything, but this is hard to defend, unless the guy was saying something threatening to the cops.  Here is the video:

This is from Bridgeport CT, obviously taken sometime in the summer timer or close to it.

Using Credit Cards May Cost More At Stores

From the New York Daily News:
Starting Sunday, consumers might have to pay more to use credit cards.
Merchants who accept MasterCard and Visa will soon be able to tack a surcharge onto your bill. The surcharge is fallout from a class-action settlement reached last July that ended years of legal battles between merchants on the one hand, and banks and credit card companies on the other.
Along with paying a group of retailers $6.05 billion, Visa, MasterCard, and several banks and credit card institutions agreed to allow merchants to charge an extra credit card fee starting Jan. 27.
Ever seen a “cash only” sign at a mom and pop store? All retailers have to pay a percentage of their profits to credit card companies in order to process in-store credit card payments. Smaller merchants who don't want to take this transaction fee out of their profits might institute a “cash only” policy. Other stores establish an unofficial minimum for credit card purchases or factor the transaction fee into their prices.
The surcharge proposed by last year’s settlement is supposed to be equal to the cost of processing a credit card transaction, which usually comes out to about 1.5 to 3 percent of the purchase. According to the settlement, merchants can’t charge consumers more than 4 percent. They also won’t be able to add extra fees to debit card transactions, NBC News reports.
Despite the changes, few merchants seem willing to add to their customers’ costs.

And the hits keep on coming for those of us who are in the middle class.

Obama's Chicago: 6 Murdered In 1 Day

From the Chicago Tribune: A 38-year-old man was killed in the Englewood neighborhood tonight, making him the sixth person shot dead today, police said.
The latest shooting happened about 10:05 p.m. in the 7000 block of South Carpenter Street, Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Ron Gaines said.
The man died on the scene, Gaines said.
Earlier, in the second double homicide of the day, a 16-year-old boy and a 32-year-old man were gunned down in the West Garfield Park neighborhood about 5 p.m., police said.
Officers responded to a call of a person shot in the 4200 block of West Congress Parkway and found the two lying dead outside on the ground, according to the police.
Both victims lived in Chicago, police said.
No one has been arrested.

Chicago has to be one of the worst cities in the country, which is unfortunate because it has some beautiful areas in it.
But Obama came from there, still has a house there and he refuses to say anything about all the crime that is going on in Chicago.
Here's a suggestion to Obama, instead of coming to Las Vegas and banging your mistress, why don't you go to Chicago instead and deal with real issues, where your neighbors are being murdered.

This Would Be Cool To Have

From jsonline: In 1974, Pat McBride, then the youthful equipment manager for the Milwaukee Bucks, asked General Manager Wayne Embry if he could have some game-worn jerseys no longer in use.
Embry said yes. McBride, showing wisdom and business savvy beyond his 21 years, picked out a Lew Alcindor jersey; a jersey belonging to Oscar Robertson; and one belonging to Sam Williams. The jerseys were from Alcindor's rookie year and used through the Bucks' only championship season, and then never used again.
For good measure, McBride selected a pair of special goggles worn by Alcindor, who would later become Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
Decades later, McBride, 59, now a professor and the associate dean of students at the University of Wisconsin-Madison Medical School, has put the items up for auction.
"They look just as good as the day I got them," said McBride, who kept the jerseys in a box in a closet of his Madison home. "I honestly thought at the time I would just put them up on my wall. They were important to me. I thought I would hang onto them for years. But I took really good care of them."
Troy Kinunen, who runs a memorabilia evaluation and research service called Mears Online, was asked to authenticate the items for Heritage Auctions, the Dallas-based auction house that has put the items up for bid.
In an email, Kinunen said he gave the Alcindor jersey a perfect grade of "A" in terms of its authenticity and condition. He said he expects the jersey to sell for more than $100,000.  http://www.jsonline.com/news/milwaukee/alcindors-rookie-jersey-pays-off-for-former-bucks-equipment-manager-qs8h5ka-188501341.html
If I had $100,000 to spare, this is something I would be interested in buying as I remember that championship year and listening to Eddie Doucettte yell Bango! for every long shot made by the Bucks and watching Lew Alcindor's sky hook.
