That Takes Balls Or Some Other Body Part

From the New York Daily News: A 28-year-old algebra teacher at a New Jersey high school has been arrested in Florida after police say she had sex with her 16-year-old student several times in her classroom and then bolted town.
U.S. Marshals arrested Jennalin Garcia-Calle, a teacher at Plainfield High School, near Newark, on Thursday in Davie, Florida and charged her with second-degree sexual assault and fourth-degree child abuse....
“What made this particularly ... unusual is that they actually had sex in school, in her classroom,” added Romankow, who went on to explain that the alleged activity is thought to have occurred during times when classes were actually in session.
“Evidently they blocked the windows and locked the door,” he said.

And after having sex with the kid, she gave him a hall pass and tardy slip to get him back into school.

Stupid Eduator News

From the New York Daily News: An Ohio teacher has slapped her school district with a lawsuit, claiming that she was discriminated against because she has a phobia of young children.
Maria C. Waltherr-Willard taught Spanish and French classes to high school students in the Mariemont school district for 35 years before she was reassigned to a middle school in 2009, Cincinnati.com reported.
The 61-year-old alleges that school officials dealt her the reassignment to force her exit as they were aware that she suffers from pedophobia, a deep-rooted fear of young kids.
In the suit, Waltherr-Willard says that she has suffered from the rare, debilitating phobia since the 1990s. She provides medical officials’ statements that detail the degree of stress, anxiety, chest pains, high blood pressure, nausea and nightmares she experiences when around children.
“It's a tough phobia. You can't really get away from (children) when you're outside,” Dr. Caleb Adler, associate professor of psychiatry and behavioral neuroscience at the University of Cincinnati, told Cincinnati.com.

First, middle school kids are not considered young kids.  Kindergarten through 6th grade are considered young kids.
In most states, teaching licenses are divided between K-6 and 7-12 grades, so she had a license to teach middle school kids.
This is about a teacher who didn't want to move to another assignment and so is using a disability as an excuse.
It's a good thing she retired and is away from all kids.

Stupid Educator News

From the Washington Examiner: The principal of a District high school and two staff members have been accused of beating up a former co-worker after a homecoming football game.
Thelma Jarrett, principal of Calvin Coolidge High School in Northwest Washington, surrendered to D.C. police Thursday morning on a warrant charge of simple assault.
Jarrett and two other women, Donna Pixley, 52, and Bridgette V. Stevens, 42, are accused of hitting and kicking a former employee in a parking lot outside the high school football stadium in Northwest on Nov. 2.
The victim, Rashida King-Hicks, told D.C. police she heard Jarrett say, "Get her, bitch!" before the blows rained down on her.
King-Hicks told The Washington Examiner that she does not know why she was attacked, but had no further comment.
Jarrett and the two staff members were placed on administrative leave Nov. 9, according to DC Public Schools officials. Stevens is listed on Coolidge rosters as an administrative assistant, and Pixley was a registrar.....
According to the police report, King-Hicks was watching the football game from the parking lot at 6315 Fifth St. NW when she noticed Jarrett and Pixley standing nearby.
King-Hicks, who worked as a clerk at Coolidge until about six months ago, greeted her former boss, Jarrett. Pixley began cursing at King-Hicks and they started to argue, police said.
Pixley began to get closer, and a crowd gathered. That's when King-Hicks heard Jarrett order the other women to "get her," according to the police report. Stevens then "came out of nowhere" and punched King-Hicks in the face, the police report said.
She fell to the ground and was repeatedly kicked and stomped by Jarrett, Pixley and Stevens until help arrived, the police report said.  http://washingtonexaminer.com/d.c.-principal-accused-in-parking-lot-beat-down/article/2513569#.UKW0bWc8VXs
It's not a good sign when your high school principal acts just as thuggish as some of the gang thugs in the school.  Yep, "Get her, bitch" is not the way you want your high school principal to behave.

Stupid Educator News

From Fox News: A new policy by Florida educators to set student goals in math and reading based on their race is an “ill-advised” plan that is destined to fail, education analysts told FoxNews.com.
By 2018, Florida’s Department of Education wants 90 percent of its Asian students to be reading at or above grade level, compared to 88 percent of white students, 81 percent of Hispanic pupils and 74 percent of African-American children. In math, state educational officials want that figure to be 92 percent for Asian students, or 18 percent higher than that of African-American students and 11 percent higher than their American Indian counterparts.
“Separate but equal is not,” said Kris Amundson of Education Sector, an independent education think tank based in Washington. “I understand that this is recognition that students are beginning at different places — and that’s honest — but I think it is, at best, ill-advised to set different learning standards for students based on the color of their skin.”....
The 24-page strategic plan, which was approved in October, also sets differing goals for students who are economically disadvantaged, those with disabilities and children who are still learning English. Florida Department of Education officials were unavailable for comment Monday, but Board of Education Chairman Gary Chartrand responded late Tuesday to insist that the goal is still to get all children "100 percent proficient."
"We have to acknowledge that there are different starting points among groups of students today," Chartrand said in a written statement. "We can only close the achievement gap in Florida if we are willing to have an honest conversation about what it will take to get all students to that level of success."
Board member Kathleen Shanahan has said the goals are needed to comply with terms of a waiver that Florida and 32 other states have within provisions of the federal No Child Left Behind Act.
When you lower expectations, you are going to get lower scores.
If you have high expectations, you will get higher results.
If you separate grades and expectations based of race, you are nothing but a racist.
And apparently this is ok with the Obama administration and the Department of Education?  Time to get rid of Obama and the Department of Education.

Stupid Teacher News: Teacher Forces Students To Kneel And Pray

From the New York Daily News:
A God-fearing city teacher earned a slap on the wrist for ordering her students to kneel and pray to Jesus, education officials said.
Michelle Schindelheim, of Bronx Middle School 301, drew the attention of investigators in March 2011, after students complained that she was forcing them to pray to God instead of teaching them to read.
Students told investigators that just before Christmas 2010 the English as a Second Language instructor stopped class and told students “they were going to talk to God.”
Then Schindelheim, who is 47 and earns $80,000, ordered students to “sit in a circle and sing and pray to God,” making the kids recite The Lord’s Prayer in their native Spanish.
She even whipped out her cell phone and put her priest on speakerphone, so he could listen to her class’s prayers, investigators said.
Schindelheim, who has worked in city schools since 1991, confessed when investigators questioned her about the incident.
There have been worst cases of teachers abusing their power and this teacher is clearly wrong.  The teacher got a written reprimand put into her file, which is seems to be appropriate but she does embarrassed the teaching profession by her actions.

Stupid CCSD Priorities

Currently, outside in the Henderson, NV area, there is a flash flood warning and a severe thunderstorm warning for Henderson.
The weather radar is full of yellows and reds.
There is lighting and thunder in the area.
And yet they are playing football at Foothill High School with the stands full of band members with metal instruments.
Does anybody have any commonsense at Foothill or CCSD athletics?
