Following a race last week where there was such a boring race that even TNT could not blow the coverage of the race, today there was a good race and of course, TNT blew it.
First, if the beginning of the race, the commentators were saying looking at all the bumping. Well it's hard to see the bumping when our view is from the that darn blimp. So, there were very few close ups.
Jeff Gordon spun out at least 6 cars during the race and this is not big news? Was he warned by NASCAR? What about listening to the in-car radios and the other drivers views on the subject.
Speaking of in car radios, what about the conversation between Marcus Ambrose and his crew chief after his car stalled during the final caution and he went from from 1st to 6th. That would have been great radio from the time the engine stalled to the time he was told to start 6th after the re-start. And the explanation about Ambrose's rule violation did not make sense. Finally, no comment from either crew crew chief? While Ambrose's crew chief may not wanted to have gone on the air, Chad Knaus loves to go on the air and would have granted an interview.
While I am not a Dale Jr. fan, he had a great race, running as high a second and finished 10th. Barely a mention of Dale Jr..
With the big crash happening on the front stretch, you would think they would have had a front row view of the crash, but no, just views from the far side and from the cars.
One hopes that TNT can bring their production from the high school level to a community college production, but I just don't have the confidence they are able to do so.
