Well, No Kidding

From the Las Vegas Sun: A man nicknamed "Eyeball" because of a tattoo that darkened the white part of his right eye pleaded guilty to shooting an Anchorage police officer.
KTUU reported the 30-year-old pleaded guilty to first-degree attempted murder, first-degree burglary and third-degree felony in possession of a weapon.....
In explaining his behavior, Barnum deflected some blame to the Alaska Department of Corrections, saying he left prison in 2010 with nowhere to go and nothing to do. "I was living on the streets, and I tried to get a job, but of course my beautiful face didn't allow me to do that," he said.  http://www.lasvegassun.com/news/2015/jan/03/man-known-eyeball-sentenced-shooting-officer/
Yeah, well, with a face like that, he will make money prison than he would in any job outside of prison.
I don't why the judge was even the least bit sympathetic to this cretin.
"It's going to be difficult, but hopefully it'll be easier than the last time," (Judge)Smith said.
Why would the judge even think that?
update  From Alaska Dispatch News, the thug was charged with 33 criminal counts but the DA got it to a plea bargain to 3 charges.
The ADN also said he is 39, not 30.
He also has spent 8 1/2 years in prison since 2001.

Why would the judge not sentence this loser to a longer sentence?
