Update On The Moapa

The LVRJ provide an update on the Moapa fire that destroyed about 6 homes, some more out buildings and destroyed several hundred acres of desert and green areas around Warm Springs.
It is widely known that the Southern Nevada Water Authority and their equipment and employees started the fire but have not admitted it as of yet. No mention on the fire is mentioned on their web site: http://www.snwa.com/html/
From the LVRJ: "It appears to be related to the fuels reduction work," said Bill Rinne, the authority's director of surface water resources. "This truly was an accidental fire."
Pushed by shifting winds, the intense blaze jumped from palm tree to palm tree.
It took 20 fire engines, an air tanker and more than 100 personnel to halt the spread, but not before more than 600 acres had burned, including the Warm Springs Ranch, a private recreational area for Mormons." http://www.lvrj.com/news/water-authority-may-pay-part-of-firefighting-costs-in-warm-springs-blaze-98571899.html

"It appears"???? So, does Mr. Rinne have another explanation? And this was not a truly accidental fire. Most firefighters will tell you there are very few "accidental fires". A strike of lightening is accidental. Downed wires during a wind storm causing a fire is accidental. Either there was a fire caused by mechanical means and so does that mean the equipment was defective or misused? Was it caused by negligence? Did the crew park too close a wooded area so a spark or small fire would have been easily controlled? It would be nice to have some questions answered.
That's the closest the water authority has admitted responsibility but they still won't pay the bills of the firefighting right away. What about the homeowners
If this was not a government agency, would there much negotiating going on? Has anybody been disciplined or fired for this? Nah, didn't think so.
