Dean Heller warned other conservative GOP candidates for Senate that he is the man to beat as he released a poll showing him having a large lead in a potential Senate race with John Ensign.
From the LVRJ: A poll taken for Rep. Dean Heller shows him with a double-digit lead among Republican voters if he challenges Sen. John Ensign in the party's Senate primary next year.
Heller holds a 53-38 advantage in the poll that was taken on Jan. 18-20. The congressman who represents Northern Nevada, a portion of Clark County and the entirety of the rural portions of the state "stands in a very strong position with Republican voters throughout the state," according to Dave Sackett, his pollster at The Tarrance Group.
Heller's release of the poll numbers this morning is the strongest indication to date that he is leaning towards running for the Senate against the scandal-marred incumbent of the same party.
"I am taking a serious look at the race for U.S. Senate," Heller, 50, said in a statement. "I will announce my decision in the near future."

This seat is for Heller to take. Ensign has no chance and he should just not run for Senate, but he is living in fantasy world, like Jim Gibbons did be fore he had his butt handed to him by Brian Sandoval.
The Democrats are not going to put up a credible candidate. Shelly Berkely? Nah, she is so safe in her district, she won't take the chance. The current Attorney General of Nevada, Catherine Cortez Masto has way too much corruption and baggage as being Harry Reid's hit man in the last election when she brought charges on Harry's orders against Brian Krolicki. so, the there really isn't anybody from the Dem's who stand a chance against Heller whose House District is literally state wide.
So, Heller is a shoo in to win John Ensign's seat, as long as he stays clean and runs a good campaign.
