A couple of weeks ago, a woman from Catholic Charities brought in into the Gold and Silver Shop (the Pawn Stars Store) a script signed by Al and gave it to the executive producer of the film.
The Pawn Star guys brought in a guy named John for his first appearance on the show and he said the signature was the real real Al Pacino but it was a presentation script.

Well, the Rick and John got it wrong. Thanks to anon for the tip,
Todd Mueller from Autographnewslive.com: ONCE I WAS SHOWN THE SCRIPT IT BECAME EVIDENT IMMEDIATELY TO ME THAT AL PACINO DID NOT SIGN THIS SCRIPT! I WAS BLOWN AWAY THAT PAWN STARS WOULD NOT HAVE AN EXPERT IN AL PACINO LOOK AT THIS.
MY CONCERNS WERE AS FOLLOWS:
1) That looks nothing like Al Pacino’s writing nor signature.
2) Why would a young (32 year old) actor working in his third movie write an executive producer mentioning he got ulcers on the show? And why would he say it “Cost me a lot?”
UPON DOING A SMALL AMOUNT OF RESEARCH I QUICKLY REALIZED PSA/DNA’s & JSA’s PRESIDENTIAL AUTHENTICATOR WAS 100% DEAD WRONG IN HIS OPINION ON THE POPULAR SHOW PAWN STARS.
THIS SCRIPT IS NOT SIGNED BY AL PACINO. IN FACT RICK OF PAWN STARS STATED; “I DON’T KNOW IF THEY CAN AUTHENTICATE ONLY TWO WORDS? BUT JOHN DOES EXACTLY THAT AND NOT ONLY AUTHENTICATES IT BASED ON THE CONDITION OF THE BINDING, HE MENTIONS HOW THE MOVING IS IN HIS OPINION THE MOST QUOTED MOVIE OF ALL TIME. HE GOES ON TO EXPLAIN PRESENTATION SCRIPTS ETC AND THAN EVEN STATES HE FEELS THE AUTOGRAPH IS WORTH $2,000 RETAIL. RICK ASKS; “JOHN, IS THAT SIGNED BY PACINO OR JUST SOME AL. RESPONDS: “GOOD QUESTION......BUT LET’S TAKE A LOOK AT THE HANDWRITING.....” HE RULES OUT A FORGERY, CALLS IT A REALLY GOOD FLOW AND THAT THE LOOP IS KNOWN IN KNOWN EXAMPLES OF HIS SIGNATURES AFTER VIEWING IT THROUGH A LOOP. HE THEN CONCLUDES TO GIVE THE VALUE ON IT

Mueller then goes on to say that the signature belonged to a guy named Al Ruddy who was the producer of the "Godfather".
Mueller then goes into more detail about the autograph and cites several other examples to support Mueller's position.
So, thanks, anon, for providing the tip and I guess the Pawn Stars maybe looking for a new autograph authenticator. Todd maybe available.
Update: Apparently, the autograph world is quite cut throat and I received some comments that could be considered slander or lible against other people.
I took out all last names in the post and will let the reader decide if the autograph is real or not.
Just remember, this is just a TV show for fun and this blog is for fun.
Do a google search of todd mueller. He is a self appointed expert and a lot of baggage out there. Besides, it is generally rumored that he owns the site in which this blog was posted. Also his blunders are legendary including a $10,000 fake Jimi Hendrix letter. Then google Reznikoff, who is absolutely king of the heap.
ReplyDeleteAlso on the same site where the pretender Mueller spouts. His bs a well known collector is complaining that mueller sold him a fake astronaut Neil Armstrong autograph. People, educate yourselves. I heard that mueller once sold autographs almost exclusive on EBay. Not anymore according to sources his eBay account was closed do to too many questionable items. The same source said he tried to open an account under his wife's name. Reports say that was closed to.
ReplyDeleteI sure am glad that people got involved to help this lady. She had the item ready to go into a auction this weekend, when she was contacted by the people of ANL to let her know that REZ had made yet another mistake. Like her, we all have to ask, how can a person who has made so many mistakes be allowed to be used as a expert in anything? WHY is it in over 3 years Drew Max has yet to make one mistake, yet on his first one,he swings and misses and only says this "well, I might have made a mistake" What a clown!
ReplyDeleteThis is just another example of making sure to use REAL experts, not self appointed ones.
This mistake is as bad as saying a person that died in 1986 could sign a 2008 re-issue album, yet these "authenticators" say it can happen, and try to buy and sell the crap!
I had a magazine that has failed, because of my support for 3rd party people like this man. I hope others can learn from my mistakes, now all I have is a failing blog and I am being sued left and right for what people write on it. (as nothing we post on my website can be supported, we just make stuff up to fit our agenda)
ReplyDeleteI am a telephone tough guy! I call up people and tell them what they need to do, because I am DB, village idiot and "THE BIG BOSS MAN"
ReplyDeleteStock buster posts lie after lie. He was exposed to as a fraud by Todd Mueller. So they make up lies about this expert. That's what forgers do

ReplyDeleteNot sure why Blogspot deleted the comment, I, the author did not. Please try again.
ReplyDeleteI realize that his is a really old post but it comes up right away If you google either John or Drew. First, Al Ruddy saw the show and said it is his signature not Pacino's. The script was purchased by Al Ruddy's wife for $12,000 at the auction. She purchased it to go along with the copy they had so that both of their children could inherit a copy.
ReplyDeleteI believe Drew was dismissed after he screwed up on an authentication on a book that was owned by Issac Newton. The question was whether the notes in the margins was Newtons. Drew said he didn't believe that Newton wrote notes like that in his books and especially in that small script. You just have to do a Google search to find that there are photos of books that are known to have Newton's writing in them, it is the exact same handwriting, very small script in the margins.
Both John and Drew have been involved in multiple authentications of forged signatures. I wouldn't trust either one of them to authenticate my own signature, even knowing I wrote it.
I am impressed. I don't think Ive met anyone who knows as much about this subject as you do. You are truly well informed and very intelligent. You wrote something that people could understand and made the subject intriguing for everyone. Really, great blog you have got here. closest pawn shop to my current location
