From the Las Vegas Sun: One person died and five people were injured Saturday in a collision involving a tour bus and a pickup truck on Interstate 15 near Baker, Calif.
The crash led to the closure of the northbound lanes for about two hours. One northbound lane of I-15 was reopened about 1 p.m., but traffic was still backed up in the late afternoon. http://www.lasvegassun.com/news/2013/aug/17/fatal-crash-shuts-i-15-northbound-near-baker-calif/
So the CHP kept this important roadway closed for only 2 hours.
On NASCAR weekend/Sunday, there was a fatal accident just after the Sprint Car race ended on I-15, around Cheyenne Ave. A lady ran into a truck carrying hay and the lady was killed.
Traffic was backed up for 10 miles or more, past the Speedway. About 100,000 people were trying to leave the Speedway when the crashed occurred. http://lasvegasbadger.blogspot.com/2013/03/did-nhp-purposefully-stall-opening-i-15.html
And the Nevada Highway patrol's response to the accident? Close I-15 southbound for 5 hours.
So, are the CHP officers 3 hours smarter than the Nevada Highway patrol officers?
Or are the NHP officers milking fatal accidents to collect overtime?
