Pawn stars Review: February 6, 2014-Kind Of Late Edition
Sorry about the delay for not blogging about Pawn Stars, but please see last week's blog post: http://lasvegasbadger.blogspot.com/2014/02/pawn-stars-review-january-31-2014very.html
The story line was Chumlee was late because he was at the doctor's office for a bad tooth and the guys didn't believe him. To say sorry, he brought donuts and The Old Man accepted the apology. For being late, Chumlee had to work the night shift or find the helmet for the item below. Chumlee went to a Henderson Fire Dept, located on Warm Springs Rd. The battalion chief Chumlee said he might have some info and allowed Chumlee to get into the firefighting outfit/bunker clothes and helmet. Chumlee found the helmet. Chumlee went back to the fire station and small ride along. Hope they got permission from the Chief.
The first guy brought in an antique air pump for firefighters who go into burning buildings. As a former firefighter, this is pretty cool. These were bellows that blew air into the firefighters helmet. The guy wanted $800 and because it didn't come with the helmet, so Rick offered $100 and then $150 and finally $200 and that was the sale price.
A guy came in with the helmet. Rick thought it had been restored. the guy wanted $6000 and Rick offered $1500. The guy came down to $2500. No sale.
The next guy brought in a Silver Dollar/Silver Certificate from around 1899. The guy wanted $217.95. Corey offered $40 and the guy went to $99.99. Corey then offered $50 and that was the sale price. Corey had it appraised by Laura A. Kessler. http://www.pcgscurrency.com/index.html
Hmm, the company she works for is out of Perioa, Illinois. Not exactly a local business. She noticed an inverted back (upside down) and very rare. She said it was worth about $800.
In the 2nd episode, The storyline the Old Man went on a vacation to judge a BBQ contest. Rick also decided to clean up the Old Man's office and the shop, which he supposedly didn't notice when he got back.
Chumlee went to a guy's house to look at a car kind of looked the car in the Munsters. The car had a bunch of skulls and other freaky things on the car. They started the car up and it did shoot flames. The guy wanted$30,000 and Chumlee had to bring someone down from the shop to see it.
Steven came down from Red Hills Rods and Choppers out of St. George Utah. What, we don't have experts in Las Vegas? Steven said the car was worth about $25,000 and Chumlee offered $19,000 and then $22,000 and there was no sale.
The next guy brought a toy Pinocchio and Donald Duck toys from 1939 and 1960's respectively. The Pinocchio toy was a wind up toy. The guy wanted $1000 and time for an expert, Johnny. He said the toys were in good shape but Donald Duck was worth about $30-40. The Pinocchio was worth $4-500. Rick offered $350 and was firm. The guy came down to $400 Rick changed his mind and that was the sale price.
The next guy brought in a WWI recruitment poster. I looked for it but could not find an image for it. The guy wanted $400 and Rick offered $100. The guy said "You have to do better than it". Umm, no he doesn't. Rick went to $125 and that was the sale price.
Thanks for your patience and there are two new episodes next week. I've been blogging this day and last weeks for 4 hours now and my back is hurting. So, thanks for stopping by.
