From the NY Daily News: Two accused killers and an armed robbery suspect attacked a jailer, then escaped from a prison in rural Alabama, authorities said.
The FBI and the U.S. Marshal's Service are part of the search team, along with tracking dogs and Choctaw County Sheriff's deputies.
"I've got three bad inmates - two capital murders and one armed robber - who are on foot. They took off from the jail," said Choctaw County Sheriff Tom Abate, the AL.com news website reported.
Demarcus Woodard, 23, Gemayel Culbert, 32, and Jestin Terrell Gordon, 23, broke out of jail about 2 a.m., the Choctaw Sun-Advocate said. Culbert and Woodard are wanted for murder.
All three were in the same cell, when one of them began shouting that his cell mate was sick. When the jailer walked into the cell to investigate, the three men overpowered him and took the jail keys and his cell phone, the paper reported.

They hitch a ride, and he tells their futures. They "seek a great fortune" and they will "find a fortune, though it will not be the one they seek." Today, in Washington D.C., the fools and tools of racism were protesting the police killing of thugs who caused their own deaths.

“Some guys came upon him and tried to rob him of his jacket,” said Demario’s aunt, Michelle Fitzpatrick. “Our nephew wouldn’t give up his coat, and they shot him in the chest.” 
The shooting happened at 12:40 p.m. in the 0-100 block of West 63rd Street. Seven minutes later, Demario was pronounced dead under a viaduct there.
Later, when his body was taken away, his mother wailed and shouted, “I want my baby back!”
The police said they were questioning at least two people in connection with the shooting.
Demario was a sophomore at Johnson College Prep charter school, 6350 S. Stewart.
That’s where he and his brother were headed Saturday, walking the remaining half mile or so from the CTA bus they’d taken to get there.
Though Demario wasn’t on the school basketball team like this brother, he “was basically a part of the team, was always there supporting us,”  said Ceddrick Hunter, the school’s basketballcoach. “He was the unathletic one. They were twins, always together. He was a good kid, all-around good kid, always respectful.
“There was not an ounce of gang stuff with either one of them,” Hunter said. “He just wanted to be there for his brother, wanted to walk with him to practice to keep him safe.”
Word of the shooting quickly reached the school. Another boy ran the whole way there with the heartbreaking news.
Demario got good grades and didn’t get into trouble, according to Robin Callahan, an assistant junior varsity basketball coach, who said he and his twin are known around school as the “Bailey boys,” hard to tell apart because they’re identical.
Their mother, very protective of her sons, usually drove them most places, according to their aunt. But the boys were getting older and wanted more independence, Fitzpatrick said. On Saturday, she finally let them take the bus to practice.

I cannot imagine the pain that this good family is going through and some thugs took this poor kid's life and that is horrible.

So how is it possible for her to think that a 53-year-old, Harvard trained constitutional lawyer who is now president of the United States, is to be solely defined by his race?
She assumes that he is sure to share the working-class, juvenile delight of Hart’s racial slapstick. And it does not make much sense in her racial construct but she also thinks the president must also be interested in movies about the weighty topics of slavery and the civil rights movement.
Chris Rock, the comedian and actor, recently said Hollywood is a “white industry… it just is.” He added they don’t hire black men.
I imagine they do hire some black people. But those black people have to color inside the lines of what white liberals think is the right kind of black person. Black conservatives have no chance in that world....
I know from personal experience at National Public Radio that white liberals can be very intolerant if they suspect they are dealing with a black person who is not afraid from depart from liberal orthodoxy. In my case I was fired and afterwards described as a bigot in need of a psychiatric care....

I have always maintained the most racist people are White and Black liberals. 
Liberals believe that no Black person should be conservative.
Liberals believe that keeping a Black on welfare is compassionate.
Liberals believe that Blacks deserve poor schools.
Liberals believe that criminals should be released into the Black community and they will tend to terrorize other Blacks.
Liberals believe that tax money earmarked for poverty causes is better spent paying bureaucrats instead of giving the money to the poor.
Illegal immigrants, the liberals current love, are going to hurt Blacks by denying the Blacks jobs and benefits.
Liberals would rather complain about a handful of cases, where a cop shoots the Black man, 99% of the time, justified, but the liberal is completely silent when there is Black on Black crime, and especially when completely innocent young Black children and babies are killed by murderous thugs.
Are all liberals racist?

I am willing to bet that these are hoaxes, mostly likely done by liberals to draw sympathy to their cause.
There have been many, many cases of where liberals have claimed racism, rape, assault etc,.and it turns out that these allegations are hoaxes.  We just had 2 cases where liberal writers have accused a fraternity and a man of sexual assault but later it turned  out that these claims were false.
And since Berkley is probably about 99% liberal, chances are that some liberals were able to walk around with the mannequins without anybody saying anything and then hang them up.
I think within 10 days, this incident will be shown to be a hoax.

From ESPN: Nationals general manager Mike Rizzo said that club was "disappointed" that outfielder Bryce Harper did not show up Saturday at the NatsFest fan festival.
In a statement emailed by one of his agent's employees, Harper said: "I have attended NatsFest each year and always enjoy my experience with the fans, but was unable to attend this year's event due to matters out of my control. I look forward to next year's NatsFest."
The Major League Baseball Players Association has filed a grievance on Harper's behalf over whether he should be able to void the 2015 terms in the final season of a $9.9 million, five-year contract he signed when drafted. An arbitrator hearing could happen Tuesday if the case isn't settled.
Harper is represented by Scott Boras.

A Dutchman's attempt at a romantic wedding proposal was simply smashing.

The unidentified lover in the central town of Ijsselstein rented a crane, planning to descend in front of his girlfriend's bedroom window first thing Saturday morning, play her a song and then pop the question. Instead the crane toppled over, smashing a large hole in the neighbors' roof.

The man clambered to safety and no one was injured.
According to the Algemeen Dagblad newspaper, the girlfriend said "yes" anyway. After speaking with police, the pair traveled to Paris to celebrate.
Then the crane fell again during attempts to right it with a larger crane, bashing in the rest of the neighbors' roof. The town's mayor is on the spot after the building was declared unsafe. How Sad

It's always difficult to bury a child, but if you are a firefighter/police officer and you are called to a car wreck that involves your daughter or son, that has to be heart breaking.

North Korea Spends Millions Hacking But Starve It's People

From the Daily Telegraph: The Hollywood studio that made the James Bond and Spider-Man films has abandoned film shoots after hackers paralysed its computer network, and leaked four films and thousands of documents.

Agencies filming for Sony Pictures have cancelled shoots because the problems have left it unable to process payments, according to The Times.

The attack by Guardians of Peace, a hacking collective suspected of having links with North Korea, has taken most of Sony Pictures’ computers offline. North Korea has been linked to the hack because Sony’s forthcoming film The Interview involves a CIA plot to kill Kim Jong Un, the supreme leader.

Joseph Demarest, the assistant director of the FBI’s cyber-division, told a US Senate hearing that methods used by the hackers would have breached the defences of nine out of ten companies.

So, my record for the year is 43-12 and 1 tie (the Wranglers)  That's a 64% correct rate, which, if I may say, is pretty darn considering that many of these predictions were made at least 6 months in advance and things were not known or had uncertain futures and some correct calls were totally out of the blue, like Holder's resignation and Stephen Horsford losing.
That's certainly better than these so called experts who populate the TV and radio.

Bad Day For Badger Football Fans

Another Reason Why Not Give Money To Panhandlers

A San Diego woman is outraged after witnessing a pregnant woman and young boy begging for money in a shopping center, then getting to into a late model Mercedes Benz and driving off.

Melissa Smith made sure to capture evidence of the alleged con artist in action, hoping that photos will help others recognize the woman and steer clear.

 "Smith said she saw the pregnant panhandler and the boy, who might have been the woman's son, at Eastlake Village Center every weekend for two months. She said the woman's husband or boyfriend would join them on the weekends," details KGTV.

 According to Smith, the woman often holds a cardboard sign that reads "please help" on the front. Smith claims that "lots of people" give the family money. But she never thought much about the panhandlers until she spotted something strange while pumping gas.

 "I noticed they grabbed their little boy and they got into a Mercedes Benz," Smith said, according to KGTV. "I thought, 'Wow, a Mercedes Benz. It's not even used -- it's not old. It's a new Benz.'"

 Once Smith was on the road, she noticed the pricey vehicle in front of her, and discovered something even more disturbing -- the family's laughter.

 "Here they are counting money, laughing and their little boy is not in a car seat or seat belt. He's all the way in the front seat with them."

 That's when she took more photos -- including shots of the license plate -- and followed the family to another shopping plaza where the alleged scam continued. The pregnant woman eventually noticed her and, according to Smith, started yelling at her to stop.

 "Next thing I know, she picked up this big boulder," Smith said, "I don't know if pregnant people can do that. She puts it over her head and starts coming at me with this rock."

 Smith gave the evidence, including the license plate number, to police -- the tag came back registered to a woman living in an apartment which reportedly costs $2,400 monthly. Here in Kingman, there is a couple, man and woman, who try to scam people.  They go to places that are close to the Interstate 40 and look like they are hitchhiking across the country but in reality they just taking people's money and live here in Kingman.  I've seen them at least 5 times in the last month at various locations, mostly on Hwy 66 and I-40 and Beal St and I-40.

Interesting Ruling By SCOTUS

From the Las Vegas Sun: The Supreme Court ruled Tuesday that warehouse workers who fill orders for retail giant Amazon don't have to be paid for time spent waiting to pass through security checks at the end of their shifts.
The unanimous decision is a victory for the growing number of retailers and other companies that routinely screen workers to prevent employee theft. The justices said federal law does not require companies to pay employees for the extra time because it is unrelated to their primary job duties.
Some workers at Amazon contractor Integrity Staffing Solutions, Inc., claim they wait up to 25 minutes to clear security before they can go home. Amazon has disputed those claims.
The Supreme Court reversed a ruling from the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, which said the screenings should be compensated because they were performed for the employer's benefit and were integral to the workers' jobs.
Writing for the court, Justice Clarence Thomas said the screenings are not the "principal activity" which the workers are employed to perform.
"Integrity Staffing did not employ its workers to undergo security screenings, but to retrieve products from warehouse shelves and package those products for shipment to Amazon customers," Thomas said.
Thomas also said the security checks were not "integral and indispensable" to the employees' duties as warehouse workers. On the face of it, I agree with the Court but I hope it doesn't open the door for abuse by some companies.  These companies may have workers perform work that is not part of their job and then try and not pay them for it.
For instance, if a factory worker is done for the day but the company may require the worker to clean up their work area, even if it not be in his job detail.  And then, if the company refuses to pay the worker because the clean up is not part of their work detail, that can open up a new can of worms.

From Philly.com: As intense heat and smoke poured from the blazing basement of a house in West Oak Lane early Tuesday, the firefighters attacking the flames with a hose were ordered to get out.
The woman who lived there had been rescued. Another company was poised to go in through a back entrance to fight the flames. With conditions deteriorating, a commanding officer had said over the radio around 2:30 a.m. that that would be safer. The firefighters began to retreat as directed, battling disorienting heat and blinding smoke. But Joyce Craig-Lewis did not emerge. Instead, the decorated 11-year veteran hit a Mayday button. "I'm trapped! I'm trapped!" her frantic voice could be heard saying over the radio. Her fellow firefighters rushed back into the flames. But it was too late.
Craig-Lewis, a 36-year-old mother of two working an overtime shift, became the first female member of the Philadelphia Fire Department to die in the line of duty.
At a City Hall news conference, Mayor Nutter said the department had suffered a tremendous loss - a loss, he said, that extends to all Philadelphians. "Joyce Craig-Lewis was a much-loved mother, daughter, and sister," said Nutter, flanked by a line of solemn-faced Fire Department commanders. "She loved her family, and she loved her job."
Firefighter Craig-Lewis is a hero and she will be missed by her family  and her family at the Philadelphia Fire dept.
 

Some Black Lives Don't Matter

From Fox News:  Authorities say a Georgia man has been executed for the 1995 killing of a sheriff's deputy, who was slain minutes after a convenience store robbery.
Authorities said 49-year-old Robert Wayne Holsey was declared dead at 10:51 p.m. Tuesday at the state prison in Jackson.

Holsey received the death sentence for the Dec. 17, 1995, killing of sheriff's deputy Will Robinson. A jury convicted Holsey in 1997. Prosecutors said Holsey robbed a Milledgeville convenience store and the clerk immediately called police, describing the suspect and his car.

The democrats just got their butts beat very badly and so, to give the voters the middle finger to the American public, they have decided that will put American lives in danger- Diane Feinstein's words, not mine.

I regret having to write a piece that is critical of the Democratic members of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence. Most of them are former colleagues and friends. I hope they will remain friends after reading this.
For eight years I served on this committee. I know how difficult and important the work of providing tough and fair oversight of our nation's $50 billion top-secret intelligence network.
I will wait until I have fully read and considered Tuesday's report to enter the debate over whether the CIA handled interrogation of detainees in an appropriate manner. Thanks to the 2005 and 2006 efforts of Senator John McCain I do not have to wait to be certain our interrogation policies and procedures are aligned with our core values.
I also do not have to wait to know we are fighting a war that is different than any in our country's past. The enemy does not have an easy to identify and analyze military. In the war against global jihadism, human intelligence and interrogation have become more important, and I worry that the partisan nature of this report could make this kind of collection more difficult.
I do not need to read the report to know that the Democratic staff alone wrote it. The Republicans checked out early when they determined that their counterparts started out with the premise that the CIA was guilty and then worked to prove it.
When Congress created the intelligence committees in the 1970's, the purpose was for people's representatives to stand above the fray and render balanced judgments about this most sensitive aspect of national security. Somewhat Personal

I apologize for not blogging much lately.
First, at work, I have been swamped with meetings and writing reports.
And then I have been working 5 days a week at my 2nd job.
And finally, I am going to be in court tomorrow, again, because my ex is trying to get custody of the kids... again.
I have been my own attorney and I have been to about 10 hearings and won every one, even with the ex hiring numerous lawyers.
So, I fully expect to win again because the facts are on my side.
But I have been studying and writing getting prepared for tomorrow.
I'll let you know how things turn out.
Update: We had our court hearing today and we basically won.  We beat up the lawyer who was representing my ex because they wanted to take the kids from Kingman back to Arizona but the judge said no way and said that our daughter is pretty much done with my ex as she is almost 18.
So, my ex just spent many thousands of dollars for her attorney and she got nothing in return.
Oh my, what a shame.

From NOLA: Bill Cassidy has done what Republicans have tried nearly 20 years to accomplish. He's beaten Mary Landrieu to become Louisiana's next United States senator.
 Cassidy was leading 57 percent to Landrieu's 43 percent with 96 percent of precincts reporting. Speaking from the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Baton Rouge, Cassidy, with his wife and family by his side, thanked voters for their support and said he looked forward to representing them in Washington.
"This victory belongs to you. This victory happened because the people in Louisiana voted for a government that serves you and doesn't tell us what to do," Cassidy told an enthusiastic crowd.
A doctor by trade, Cassidy spent most of his professional life working in the LSU charity hospital system. He served in the Louisiana Senate about two years before he was elected to Congress in 2008 over incumbent Democrat Don Cazayoux. He has represented the Baton Rouge-based 6th Congressional District ever since.
Cassidy rode a wave of Republican support that swept the nation during the midterm elections. Voters in Louisiana were angry with President Barack Obama and his policies, particularly the Affordable Care Act. Cassidy used Landrieu's vote for the law against her to motive people to oust her from office.

Well, That Sucked

The Wisconsin Badger football, playing in their most important game of the year completely blew it and was unprepared for the Ohio State Buckeyes.
From ESPN: Ohio State's No. 3 quarterback looked every bit as good as the other two.
Cardale Jones even did something his two all-conference predecessors could not. He led the Buckeyes to a Big Ten title.
Jones threw for 257 yards and three touchdowns and was named the game's MVP in his first career start, leading No. 5 Ohio State to a 59-0 rout of No. 13 Wisconsin in Saturday night's conference championship game -- an emphatic statement to the College Football Playoff selection committee.

Who Is Going To Riot/Rally For These Guys?

From the Chicago Tribune: Three men were killed, and four others another were wounded in separate shootings Friday on the city's North, West and South sides, said police.
The latest shooting happened at about 7:50 p.m. in the 1200 block of West Albion Avenue, said Chicago police spokesman Thomas Sweeney.
Two men were walking on the block when two other men went up to them and one of the attackers took out a handgun and tried to rob them, said Sweeney.
A struggle for the gun ensued and a 23-year-old man was fatally shot in the chest and head, Sweeney said. The man was pronounced dead on the scene, Sweeney said. It was not immediately known if the other person was injured.

Does His Life Matter?

A 23-year-old Loyola student from Pakistan was shot and killed during an attempted robbery Friday night near campus, officials said. 

Police said the man was with another person in the 1200 block of West Albion at 7:50 p.m. when two males walked up, showed a weapon and demanded his belongings, police said. At least one of the males opened fire, striking the man in his chest and head, police said.

The man was later pronounced dead, police said. The Cook County medical examiner’s office could not immediately confirm the death.

The student was walking with his brother when they were approached by the males and were shown the gun, 49th Ward alderman Joe Moore said in a post on EveryBlock.com. The student thought the weapon was fake and tried to reach for it, Moore said. He was later shot during a scuffle.

Authorities were trying to reach the student’s family Friday night, said Jane Neufeld, Loyola’s vice president for student development, in a statement.

Saint Eric Garner? Umm No

Why do protesting thugs like to protest the deaths of street thugs?
Treyvon Martin was a thug who tried to beat up another idiot, but the idiot had a gun and Martin is no longer with us.
Michael Brown, the thug in Ferguson, Missouri was a thug who, while high, robbed a store, assaulted the store employee, then, when confronted by the police, refused to obey the officer's demands, and then got shot when he physically attacked the cop, not once but twice.
And now, the latest thug who is being elevated to sainthood is a thug named Eric Garner of New York City.
From the NY Times: The encounter between Mr. Garner and plainclothes officers, from the 120th Precinct, began after the officers accused Mr. Garner of illegally selling cigarettes, an accusation he was familiar with. He had been arrested more than 30 times, often accused of selling loose cigarettes bought outside the state, a common hustle designed to avoid state and city tobacco taxes. So, after being arrested 30 times, you would think that Garner knew the routine about being arrested and he knew to follow the police officer's instructions.  Instead, he acts like a thug and doesn't follow the cops commands when they told him he was under arrest.
So, the person who is to blame for Eric Garner's death is only Eric Garner and no one else.
But the protesting thugs, which include the racist brothers of Eric, Barack, Jesse and Al seem to be glorifying thugs and that is really pathetic.
Couldn't they find someone who is 100% innocent to protest for?

One Of The Worst Apologies Ever

The 9,000-word article about Jackie, a University of Virginia freshman who alleged a frat-house gang rape, was apparently fraught from the beginning with gaps in basic reporting. The story’s writer, Sabrina Rubin Erdely, as well as a phalanx of editors, fact-checkers and lawyers who massaged the piece before publication, accepted Jackie’s account without locking down key details that would have confirmed, or at least plausibly substantiated, her harrowing tale.
Instead, Erdely’s story, published Nov. 19 to a thunderous and mostly positive reaction, appears to have been fatally defective. Major details, including the name of the fraternity in question, are in dispute or have been exposed as false. Jackie’s allies have distanced themselves from her.

So, some supposedly journalists and editors offer a half assed apology and ruined a lot of reputations including members of the frat house and another guy who was blamed for the rape that probably did not happen.
Unfortunately, there are many rapes and sexual assault that occur in the United States, but there are also a lot of false claims of rape and assault.
My feeling is that if there were a false claim of rape, the rape accuser needs to be brought up charges of filing a false police report.  That's only fair because if there is a false claim of rape, it can destroy a man and his reputation and in most cases his life and that is not fair to the man.
And the writer and editors of the Rolling Stone magazine need to be fired for only communicating with the accuser and not the accused.

Claws Up, Don't Shoot

From the LVRJ: A bystander armed with a handgun played a key role in stopping a Thursday night robbery at a Las Vegas Red Lobster, according to police.
The customer, who had a concealed weapon permit, fired a warning shot when he was confronted by a man stealing money from the seafood chain on Decatur Boulevard just south of U.S. Highway 95.
Police believe 28-year-old Dillon Webb entered the restaurant at 200 S. Decatur Blvd. brandishing a gun about 9:45 p.m. Thursday. He threatened customers and employees and grabbed the cash register drawer, police said.
Webb fled the building on foot, carrying the drawer, where he met the armed patron in the parking lot, police said. The customer fired one shot and the suspect dropped the cash drawer and ran from the parking lot.

From Fox News: Congress is set to make victims of the 2009 Fort Hood shootings eligible for Purple Hearts and combat injury benefits after the Obama administration has denied them the status for the past five years.
House Republicans, working with the Democratic-controlled Senate Armed Services Committee, added a provision to the defense authorization bill that would give battlefield recognition for the victims of the deadliest attack on a domestic military installation in U.S. history. It passed on a voice vote with strong bipartisan support.
The measure, which is expected to pass Congress next week, also would end a five-year effort by Texas GOP Reps. John Carter, Michael Conaway and Roger Williams to give the victims the status, the Military Times first reported.
The victims have long asked the Pentagon to label the attack terrorism so they would be eligible for the Purple Hearts and added combat-related benefits. But Defense Secretaries Robert Gates, Leon Panetta and Chuck Hagel have stuck to the original assessment that the attack by Army psychiatrist Maj. The White House is pushing a multi-million-dollar program to encourage local law enforcement agencies to use body cameras, on the heels of the police shooting of 18-year-old Michael Brown in Ferguson, Mo. 
At the same time, President Obama is not seeking to pull back federal programs that provide military-style equipment to local law enforcement.

The administration revealed details of a White House review after Obama met with members of his Cabinet about the situation. The president is pushing a three-year, $263 million program to expand training and resources for local police departments -- the biggest component would be a $75 million fund during that period to help purchase 50,000 body cameras. 

The proposed Body Worn Camera Partnership Program would give a 50 percent match to state and local police forces that purchase small, lapel-mounted cameras to record police on the job. "We're bringing awareness to the black hypocrisy, complacency and apathy in the African-American community," said King.

According to the FBI, in 2011 more than 7,000 black people were killed. King's sign reads that the KKK killed 3,446 blacks in 86 years, while black on black murders surpass that number every six months.

"All my anger for my ancestors who went through that terror of a Ku Klux Klan hood and what that symbolizes to me, evoked anger," said Philadelphia Councilman Curtis Jones Jr. "I was angry!"

Barkley Will Be Fired In 5..4..3...

Charles Barkley, the former NBA All Star and member of the NBA Hall of Fame said something so horrible that he will be soon fired as a basketball analyst for TNT. 
Barkley said that the people rioting were not real Blacks and he supports the police.

Speaking on Philadelphia sports radio station 97.5 The Fanatic last week, Barkley spoke in favor of the grand jury's decision while ripping looters for destroying their own neighborhood under the guise of racial protest.
"Those aren't black people, those are scumbags," the NBA Hall of Famer and TNT basketball analyst said of the rioters, who targeted mostly minority-owned businesses.
"There is no excuse for people to be out there burning down people's businesses, burning down police cars."
Barkley also said that authorities got it right by not prosecuting Wilson, who shot 18-year-old Brown six times on Aug. 9 in a controversial incident that sparked nationwide protests while pushing Ferguson to the forefront of the country's racial divide.
"The true story came out from the grand jury testimony," Barkely said, adding that "three or four witnesses, who were black, said exactly what the cop [WILSON] said." 
“[THE MEDIA] love this stuff, and lead people to jump to conclusions. The media shouldn’t do that. They never do that when black people kill each other."
Well known for his controversial positions on race, Barkley called on the black community to stop automatically seeing police as the enemy.
“We have to be really careful with the cops, because if it wasn’t for the cops we would be living in the Wild, Wild West in our neighborhoods," he said. "We can’t pick out certain incidents that don’t go our way and act like the cops are all bad.... RIP: A True WW II Hero

From the Navajo Times:
Navajo Code Talker Samuel Tsosie Sr. has passed into the spirit world, according to Navajo Nation President Ben Shelly, who ordered flags flown at half-staff in his honor.
Tsosie, who served in the 1st Marine Division from 1943 to 1945, was 89.
He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps at age 16, forging his mother’s signature on his enlistment papers and gave his age as 19, according to the nonprofit Navajo Code Talkers organization.
In the Marine Corps, Tsosie joined his military brothers as a radioman communicating in every major battle of the Pacific, including Iwo Jima, Guadalcanal, Tarawa, Saipan, Guam, Okinawa and Peleliu.
The funeral for Tsosie took place today at the VA Chapel in Prescott, Ariz. He will be laid to rest in the National Veterans Cemetery in Phoenix.
In his Nov. 25 proclamation, Shelly stated, “The Navajo Nation unites and offers prayers for his family and friends during this time of grief.”

The Military's New Weapon: A Coffee Maker?

From the Las Vegas Sun: Through a process known as the 1033 Program, agencies across the United States can get anything from a pair of boots to a working helicopter, and all they have to pay for is shipping and maintenance. Items are new and unused or refurbished military equipment....

Law enforcement officers in the northern county have used the program extensively, receiving vehicles, weapons and high-tech equipment. The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office procured 83 M16 assault rifles, a Bell helicopter, cold-weather gear, night-vision and infrared equipment, and even a coffee maker.
Reno police got nine assault rifles, a mine-resistant vehicle and about $230,000 worth of night-vision gear.
Twenty more rifles went to Sparks police, school district police and the District Attorney’s Office.
