Green Bay Packers: WTF???

This afternoon, as I left the house to go to work, the Green Bay Packers had a 12 point lead, had the ball and looked like they were going to win easily.
By the time I got to work, 8 minutes later, the Packers were trailing and ended up losing in overtime.
From ESPN: Never doubt the resilience of the Seattle Seahawks.
Plagued by turnovers and outplayed much of Sunday by Green Bay, the Seahawks staged an improbable comeback and beat the Packers 28-22 in overtime. Russell Wilson, who struggled until the final minutes, hit Jermaine Kearse for a 35-yard touchdown 3:19 into the extra period to end the game.
Seattle (14-4) trailed 19-7 with about four minutes remaining and had been ineffective on offense all game. Wilson finally put a drive together with passes to Doug Baldwin and Marshawn Lynch -- initially ruled a touchdown but called back because he stepped out of bounds. Wilson finished with a 1-yard scoring run to cut the lead to 19-14 with 2:09 left.
The onside kick went high to Packers tight end Brandon Bostick, but he couldn't gather it, and Seattle's Chris Matthews recovered at the 50. The crowd, which had been quiet since falling behind 16-0, came alive and Lynch sped and powered his way to a 24-yard TD run. On the 2-point conversion, Wilson -- about to be sacked -- threw a desperate pass hauled in by Luke Willson to make it 22-19 with 1:25 remaining.
Aaron Rodgers, limping on an injured calf, calmly led the Packers (13-5) down the field to set up Mason Crosby's fifth field goal, a 48-yarder with 14 seconds to go to force overtime.
Then Wilson and Kearse struck, with Kearse -- the target on all four of Wilson's interceptions -- beating Tramon Williams on the winning pass. Kearse caught the winning score in last year's conference title win over San Francisco, too.  http://scores.espn.go.com/nfl/recap?gameId=400749519
As my wife was feeding me the information, my first thought was she was pulling a joke on me and then I felt anger towards the Packers.  I then wondered if any Packer players or coaches were bought.  Yeah,  I am looking at A.J. Hawk, Aaron rodgers and Brandon Bostick along with coaches Dom Capers and Mike McCarthy.
A.J. Hawk completely blew his coverage on the fake field goal attempt that turned into a touchdown.  Even a middle school football player knows you never leave a potential receiver on a field goal go uncovered, which Hawk did.
Rodgers, after Richard Sherman got hurt, did not go after Sherman after Sherman got into the game.  Why?  Sherman was essentially playing with 1 arm and Rodgers didn't go after him right after he got hurt.
Bostick screwed up the on-side kick by not letting Jordy Nelson get the ball on the onside kick.
Capers defense allowed 2 touchdowns within a couple of minutes of each other at the end of the game.  Why?
McCarthy, refused to go after Sherman immediately after he was hurt and his team allowed 3 touchdowns at the very end of the game.
So, in my anger, I thought a player or coach was paid off to throw the game.
But in the end, the Seattle Seahawks wanted to win more, outplayed the Packers when it mattered the most- at the end of the game and Seattle was outcoached when it mattered most.
Yes, this is just a football game, but this is not Pee Wee football, this is football where you supposedly have the best of the best players and coaches in the world and you have cheered for your team going on for 50 years.
So, yes, this Packer game hurts, especially since they should have won the game except for some horrible play down the stretch.
But at least I do have some comfort: I am not a Chicago Bears fan.

GO PACK GO!!!

This afternoon, the Green Bay Packers are playing the Seattle Chickenhawks in Seattle to see who will go onto the Super Bowl next month.
My heart says go with the Packers however, my wallet and mind favor the Chickenhawks.
Hey, Packers, win one for Bart Starr.

Another Cop Being Railroaded

From Arizona Central(Phoenix):
The Arizona State University officer accused of wrongfully arresting a university professor last summer is set to be fired on Wednesday, but he's fighting back.
Stewart Ferrin was given a termination notice last week based on the findings of an internal investigation conducted by the ASU Police Department.
"There's a couple things that our attorney is looking at and trying to figure out how and why," he said in an interview with 12 News. "I don't know, I don't think it meets the qualifications for termination."
Ferrin's termination stems from the May 20th arrest of Ersula Ore, an assistant English professor, who was stopped for jaywalking on College Avenue near Fifth Street.
A dashboard camera video of the arrest – which quickly went viral – shows the two struggling. Ore refused to show Ferrin an identification and then kicked him, according to the police report.
She later pled guilty to resisting arrest and was sentenced to nine months of probation.
Ore filed a $2 million claim against the university alleging false arrest, excessive force and civil rights violations. The FBI investigated Ferrin but the U.S. Attorney's Office declined to prosecute.
Ferrin said the arrest wasn't racially motivated.
"I can tell you flat out there's no racism involved in this whatsoever," he said. "I was an LDS missionary in Chile, a South American country. I was the white guy in Hispanic culture, so I know what it is to a certain extent to be a minority."
But Ferrin said he stands by decisions made during the arrest.
"I guess if I came into this situation again I would handle it a little differently but I stand by the decisions I made that night," he said.   http://www.azcentral.com/story/news/local/tempe/2015/01/18/asu-officer-fighting-termination/21942847/The only reason why this cop was fired is because the University decided to suck up to a loud mouth professor who is better standing up in front of a Jerry Springer audience rather than a lecture hall full of students.
It's sad that this supposed professor brought down this police officer, when the officer was just doing his job.
And the professor admitted that she was guilty of resisting arrest.
So, why does this Jerry Springer wannabe guest still have her job?

Booo

From ESPN: A Southern California high school basketball coach has been suspended and faces accusations of mercilessly running up the score after his team won a game 161-2, one of the most lopsided scores in state history.
Arroyo Valley High girls' coach Michael Anderson was suspended for two games after the victory last week against Bloomington High.
Anderson said that he wasn't trying to run up the score or embarrass the opposition. His team had won four previous games by at least 70 points, and Bloomington had already lost a game by 91.
"The game just got away from me," Anderson told the San Bernardino Sun on Friday. "I didn't play any starters in the second half. I didn't expect them to be that bad. I'm not trying to embarrass anybody."
He says if he had it to do again, he'd have played only reserves after the first quarter, or, "I wouldn't play the game at all."
But Bloomington coach Dale Chung says Arroyo Valley used a full-court press for the entire first half to lead 104-1 at halftime.
"People shouldn't feel sorry for my team," Chung said. "They should feel sorry for his team, which isn't learning the game the right way."
Anderson has served one game of the suspension, a game his team won 80-19 with his son Nick at the helm. He'll return after sitting out one more.
"He's a great X's and O's coach," Chung said. "Ethically? Not so much. He knows what he did was wrong."  http://espn.go.com/los-angeles/story/_/id/12182194/california-girls-high-school-basketball-coach-suspended-two-games-161-2-win
Yeah, well, Chung, the opposing coach, has no right to complain because he brought a very poor team to the floor.  Maybe if he was a better coach, he would not be in this position of losing by 159 points.
But this is California, where liberals and the PC crowds run amok.  Instead of barking that the losing team should have been better, they demanded  the winning team be worse.
That is California crazy.

Aww, Poor Baby

From the NY Daily News: Oklahoma’s first execution since it botched the lethal injection of a death row inmate 10 months ago saw convicted baby killer Charles Frederick Warner exclaim from the death chamber: “My body is on fire.”
In a disturbing sequence, the 47-year-old Warner made the claim after getting a dose of the sedative midazolam followed by involuntary twitching after the lethal injection was administered. He stopped breathing seven minutes later.
The Thursday night execution at Oklahoma State Penitentiary in McAlester came after an extensive look at the process that included $71,000 in upgrades and even went before the U.S. Supreme Court.
Warner’s own execution was originally scheduled for April 29, the same night that inmate Clayton Lockett convulsed, spurted blood and writhed on his gurney during an execution that lasted 43 minutes. Prison officials later called Lockett’s prolonged death a “bloody mess.”
Convicted in the 1997 rape and murder of an 11-month-old girl in Oklahoma City, Warner could not escape his fate. But he added to the controversy surrounding lethal injection before his death.
“Before I give my final statement, I’ll tell you they poked me five times. It hurt. It feels like acid,” Warner said before the execution began.
http://www.nydailynews.com/news/crime/convicted-killers-fla-okla-executed-night-article-1.2080498
The liberal media, the NY Daily News glosses over what this thug did to get the death penalty.
Well, the thug did this:
The killing for which Warner was sentenced to death happened in August 1997, in the home that her and his two children shared with Shonda Waller, who has been variously described as an ex-girlfriend or former roommate in court papers. Ms Waller went out to run errands and when she returned, the child was unconscious. Resuscitation efforts failed and the baby was pronounced dead at the hospital, NBC reported.
A post-mortem examination of the little girl found a crushing injury to the head and brain damage, a broken jaw, three fractured ribs and a lacerated liver. Warner’s own son testified that he had seen his father shaking the baby.  http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/charles-warner-execution-my-body-is-on-fire-9981842.html
The thug also was convicted of rape.
So, the thug felt a little discomfort.
But compared to what this thug to this little girl, the pain the thug felt was nothing.

What Was The Point?

From ESPN: Penn State's football team is getting back 112 wins wiped out during the Jerry Sandusky child molestation scandal, and the late Joe Paterno has been restored as the winningest coach in major college football history.
The NCAA announced the new settlement with the school Friday, weeks before a scheduled trial on the legality of the 2012 consent decree it will replace.
The new deal also directs a $60 million fine to address child abuse be spent within Pennsylvania and resolves that lawsuit.
The NCAA's board of governors approved the settlement, association spokesman Bob Williams said. The Penn State board approved it Friday afternoon.
"I want to thank Sen. (Jake) Corman, Treasurer (Rob) McCord, and the NCAA for their efforts to bring about an outcome that is in the best interest of Penn State," university president Eric Barron said in a statement. "I also want to thank the hard-working students, staff and faculty at Penn State who have ensured the highest level of compliance and ethics. Finally, I want to make it clear that we have a tremendous alumni community that cares a great deal for Penn State. It is my hope that this agreement will continue the healing process for all."
The announcement follows the NCAA's decision last year to reinstate the school's full complement of football scholarships and let Penn State participate in postseason play, and it comes just days after a federal judge declined to rule on the consent decree's constitutionality.  http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/12179571/joe-paterno-111-wins-were-vacated-restored
So, what was the point of taking away the wins from Penn State, other than being vindictive, piling on punishment and embarrassing Paterno when he was still alive?
The NCAA is nothing more than a bunch of clowns climbing out of a clown car at clown college.
I said when the punishment came down that the punishment was excessive and hurt players and some coaches who were not even on Penn State campus when the incidents with Sandusky were going on.
So, congratulations to JoePa, the coach with the most wins in the NCAA.  Too bad he wasn't alive when they changed their minds.

The Difference Between A Leader And A muslim Wanna Be

From Fox News:
"Poisonous ideology."
"Radical, death cult of a narrative."
British Prime Minister David Cameron was unsparing in his condemnation of Islamist terrorists on Friday, as he stood beside President Obama in the White House.
Like French officials last week following the deadly attacks in Paris, the PM bluntly described the problem as a "very serious Islamist extremist terrorist threat."
Obama? The U.S. president stayed the rhetorical course.
Despite the increasingly tough rhetoric from Cameron, French President Francois Hollande and others, Obama continued to describe the enemy as "violent extremism" and "violent terrorism" -- even "nihilism."
The following are key remarks from each world leader. See if you can spot the differences:
Obama:
"We both recognize that intelligence and military force alone is not going to solve this problem, so we're also going to keep working together on strategies to counter violent extremism that radicalizes recruits and mobilizes people, especially young people, to engage in terrorism."
"We also look forward to welcoming our British friends to our summit next month on countering violent terrorism, because whether in Europe or in America, a critical weapon against terrorism is our adherence to our freedoms and values at home, including the pluralism and the respect and tolerance that defines us as diverse and democratic societies."
"This phenomenon of violent extremism, the ideology, the networks, the capacity to recruit young people, this has metastasized and it is widespread, and it has penetrated communities around the world." ...
Cameron:
"We know what we're up against. And we know how we will win. We face a poisonous and fanatical ideology that wants to pervert one of the world's major religions, Islam, and create conflict, terror and death. With our allies, we will confront it wherever it appears."
"We will deploy additional intelligence and surveillance assets to help Iraqi forces on the ground, and we will ensure they are better trained and equipped to counter explosive devices. But most important of all, we must also fight this poisonous ideology starting at home."
"We do face a very serious Islamist extremist terrorist threat in Europe, in America, across the world. And we have to be incredibly vigilant in terms of that threat."
"It means countering this poisonous, fanatical death cult of a narrative that is perverting the religion of Islam."
"But here's, I think, the really determining point: You can have, tragically, people who have had all the advantages of integration, who've had all the economic opportunities that our countries can offer, who still get seduced by this poisonous, radical, death cult of a narrative."   http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2015/01/16/obama-vs-cameron-british-pm-takes-hard-line-on-islamist-extremists-obama-avoids/
Prime Minister David Cameron is a world leader and Obama is a follower and a wanna be muslim.
Right now, Obama cannot fathom that the muslim religion can be evil to many of it's followers.
And Obama is downright flustered because he thought by talking to the radical muslims and making deals with them, they would just lay down their weapons, stop their violence and listen to him.
Well the radicals didn't listen to Obama and he doesn't know what to do now.
So, Obama is just a follower instead of a leader when it comes to dealing with radical islam.

Good For Arizona

From the LVRJ: Arizona’s high school students will be required to pass the same civics test that immigrants must pass to gain citizenship, under a first-in-the-nation bill signed into law on Thursday.
Arizona Republican Governor Doug Ducey, who had championed the idea in his state-of-the-state address on Monday, signed the measure only hours after it sailed through the state House and Senate on Thursday.
“Not long from now, our children will be entrusted with protecting the principles on which this country was founded, and it is up to us to prepare them for that responsibility today,” Ducey said in a statement.
Ducey, sworn into office on Jan. 5, hailed the bi-partisan passage of the bill and said it would “help ensure all Arizona students understand basic American civics.”
The fast-tracked bill, the first to hit Ducey’s desk since the state Legislature convened on Monday, requires that students correctly answer 60 of 100 questions on the test beginning in the 2016-17 school year.
Students would be allowed to take the test as many times as necessary in order to pass, according to the new law.  http://www.reviewjournal.com/news/nation-and-world/new-arizona-law-mandates-students-pass-civic-test
For those new to the blog, I do not like proficiency exams- they are a waste of time and money and accomplish very little.
But if you are going to have a proficiency exam, a civic exam should be at the tip of the list.
However, many liberals, along with the Fed's and Eric Holder, will say the test is racist and they will sue to have test thrown out.
So, congratulations to Arizona for being the first in the U.S. in requiring this exam.

Hump Day Funny

Courtesy of Common Sense Evaluation:
Four men were bragging about how smart their dogs were. One was an engineer, the second man was an accountant, the third was a chemist, and the fourth was a government worker.
To show off, the engineer called to his dog, “T-Square” do your stuff!” T-Square trotted over to a desk, took out some paper and a pen and promptly drew a square, circle and triangle. Everyone agreed that was pretty smart.
But, the accountant said his dog could do better. He called to his dog and said, “Spreadsheet, do your stuff.” Spreadsheet went into the kitchen and returned with a dozen cookies. He then divided them into 4 equal piles of 3 cookies each. Everyone agreed that was good.
But the chemist said his dog could do better. He called to his dog and said, “Measure, do your stuff.” Measure got up, walked over to the fridge, took out a quart of milk, got a 10 oz. glass from the cup-board and poured exactly 8 oz. without spilling a drop. Everyone agreed that was pretty impressive.
The three men turned to the government worker and said, “What can your dog do?” The government worker called to his dog and said, “Coffee Break, do your stuff.” Coffee Break jumped to his feet, ate the cookies, drank the milk, took a crap on the paper, had sex with the other three dogs, claimed he injured his back while doing so, filed a grievance report for unsafe working conditions, put in for worker’s compensation and then went home for the rest of the day on sick leave.
They ALL agreed, that dog was brilliant!

Another Obama Mess

From Yahoo News: Filing a federal tax return is about to get more complicated for millions of families because of President Barack Obama's health law. But they shouldn't expect much help from the Internal Revenue Service.
Got a question for the IRS? Good luck reaching someone by phone. The tax agency says only half of the 100 million people expected to call this year will be able to reach a person.
Callers who do get through may have to wait on hold for 30 minutes or more to talk to someone who will answer only the simplest questions.
"Taxpayers who need help are not getting it, and tax compliance is likely to suffer over the longer term if these problems are not quickly and decisively addressed," said a report Wednesday by agency watchdog Nina E. Olson.
IRS Commissioner John Koskinen says budget cuts are forcing the agency to reduce taxpayer services and other functions. The number of audits will decline, technology upgrades will be delayed and the agency might be forced to shut down and furlough workers for two days later this year, Koskinen said.
The IRS will no longer help low-income taxpayers fill out their returns, and tax refunds could be delayed for people who file paper returns.
"It couldn't be worse timing," Koskinen said of the budget cuts.  http://news.yahoo.com/irs-cuts-taxpayer-services-filing-returns-gets-harder-150035056--finance.html
Oh, boo hoo.
If the IRS wanted to do, they could find ways to provide improved customer service, if they really wanted to.
When a government agency perceives that they get less money, the first thing they do is do away with customer service- what little customer service government agencies do give.
They don't do away with bonuses, they don't lay off staff, they don't privative services like custodians to save money, they don't become more efficient, they don't give up their travel, staying at nice hotels and other taxpayer rip offs.
But they do down size of customer service and service to the poor.
But if the IRS does do the customer service slow down dance, then may we should go to the flat tax and get rid of 95% of the IRS.

Obama Legacy: Horrible Economy

From Gallup:
The U.S. now ranks not first, not second, not third, but 12th among developed nations in terms of business startup activity. Countries such as Hungary, Denmark, Finland, New Zealand, Sweden, Israel and Italy all have higher startup rates than America does.
We are behind in starting new firms per capita, and this is our single most serious economic problem. Yet it seems like a secret. You never see it mentioned in the media, nor hear from a politician that, for the first time in 35 years, American business deaths now outnumber business births.
The U.S. Census Bureau reports that the total number of new business startups and business closures per year -- the birth and death rates of American companies -- have crossed for the first time since the measurement began. I am referring to employer businesses, those with one or more employees, the real engines of economic growth. Four hundred thousand new businesses are being born annually nationwide, while 470,000 per year are dying.
Until 2008, startups outpaced business failures by about 100,000 per year. But in the past six years, that number suddenly turned upside down. There has been an underground earthquake. As you read this, we are at minus 70,000 in terms of business survival. The data are very slow coming out of the U.S. Department of Census, via the Small Business Administration, so it lags real time by two years...
There are only 6 million businesses in the United States with one or more employees. Of those, 3.8 million have four or fewer employees -- mom and pop shops owned by people who aren't building a business as much as they are building a life. And God bless them all. That is what America is for. We need every single one of them.
Next, there are about a million companies with five to nine employees, 600,000 businesses with 10 to 19 employees, and 500,000 companies with 20 to 99 employees. There are 90,000 businesses with 100 to 499 employees. And there are just 18,000 with 500 employees or more, and that figure includes about a thousand companies with 10,000 employees or more. Altogether, that is America, Inc.
I don't want to sound like a doomsayer, but when small and medium-sized businesses are dying faster than they're being born, so is free enterprise. And when free enterprise dies, America dies with it....
http://www.gallup.com/businessjournal/180431/american-entrepreneurship-dead-alive.aspx
Yes, the stock market is up.
Gas prices are way down (no thanks to Obama and the Fed's)
But people are working part time jobs more often.
More people are out of work than ever before.
More people are receiving some kind of government assistance than ever before.
And now, more evidence that the U.S. economy still sucks and that the Obama administration is directly responsible for the decline.
ObamaCare and the anti-business regulations that Obama administration has put upon businesses is helping to destroy the U.S. economy.
Just another legacy Obama will leave with us when he is gone in less than 2 years.

Philly Union Thug On Trial

If you look in the dictionary for the words "union thug", this union thug's picture will be one of the picture's shown.
From Philly.com:
Two views of Philadelphia Ironworkers Union boss Joseph Dougherty - general waging a guerrilla war against nonunion contractors, or aging leader undermined by ruthless underlings - are now up to a federal jury to sort out...
He is charged with racketeering conspiracy; two arson-related counts for damage to a site on Grays Avenue in Southwest Philadelphia on July 18, 2013; two arson-related counts in the Oct. 12, 2013, attempted attack on a site in Malvern; and a count of extortion for allegedly coercing a steel company to hire union ironworkers to erect an apartment building at 31st and Spring Garden Streets in West Philadelphia....
In closing arguments, Assistant U.S. Attorney Robert J. Livermore said there was no doubt Dougherty improved the lives of his union members and won their loyalty.
But he added that Dougherty's voice on FBI wiretaps also made it clear that the union boss hated nonunion contractors and believed in using arson, intimidation, and extortion to force them to hire union ironworkers. "He calls them pigs and he treats them worse than any pig should be treated," Livermore said, adding that Dougherty "created a culture within the union where these acts were not only tolerated, but they were rewarded."
If this union thug is convicted, they ought to revoke his bail and send him right to prison until the day he dies.
He is nothing more than a union thug with no redeeming moral values.

Idiot In The Media

I guess this moron gets paid to say stupid things.
From the Washington Examiner:
This week’s example of the media’s lefty tilt features former Rolling Stone executive editor Eric Bates, now executive editor of First Look Media, on MSNBC’s Now with Alex Wagner on Wednesday, talking about the terrorist attack against a French satire magazine in which twelve were murdered:
“This isn’t just Islamic extremism. If you go back to the ’80s — during the Reagan administration — when Jerry Falwell sued Hustler magazine for portraying him having, I believe it was drunken incest with his mother in an outhouse — again, in a visual form — and won a $150,000 court case against Hustler for that. It was overturned by the Supreme Court, I think, eight-to-zero.
“So you know, religious fundamentalists of all stripes and of nationalities have this penchant to say, we want to be able tell you what you can and can’t portray.”  http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/jerry-falwell-compared-to-jihadists/article/2558537
While this terrorist attack was ongoing, I had to watch CNN just about every other minute, the CNN "reporters" kept making excuses for muslims and kept mentioning muslims and possible repercussions.
About1 time an hour, they would actually mention the victims of the muslim terrorist pigs attacks but rarely mentioned their names.
So, the lefty media shows once again their love for radical muslims and their anti-Semitism.

What The Racist Fool And Tool Protestors/Rioters Really Want

For the past several months, many cities in the U.S. has had to endure protestors/rioters in their cities.  The fools and tools of the bigger racists, like Obama, Holder Sharpton and Jackson, have shut down portions of cities, if they hadn't didn't destroy them first.
But what do these fools and tools of the Racist Brothers really want?  You see them rally and make jackasses of themselves but you never know what their demands are.
Well, the police chief of liberal Madison, WI. gives us some insight of what some of these fools and tools really want.
From Madison.com: Madison’s police chief issued a stern rebuke Monday to a protest group that has said his department perpetuates disparities between black and white residents of the city, writing that he is tired of police being blamed for problems that are beyond their control....
The coalition’s open letter, sent to the chief and others on Friday, called police an “occupying force” in communities of color.
To address wide disparities in black and white arrest rates, the group demanded police reduce their presence in those neighborhoods and cut in half the number of black and poor people the department arrests.
“The relationship that we desire to have with the police is simple: no interaction,” the group wrote. “Our people need opportunities for self-determination, not policing.”...
“It is time for Young, Gifted and Black to look a lot deeper at the issues besetting our people of color and stop pandering to the ‘blame game’ of throwing my department to the wolves.
Read more: http://host.madison.com/news/local/crime_and_courts/police-chief-rebukes-young-gifted-and-black-coalition-in-blog/article_99832911-5f14-5b2c-a909-eee6b0829608.html#ixzz3OfmPESw7
And these fools and tools also want this:
One of our publicly-stated demands is for the immediate release of 350 Black people from the Dane County Jail, with the ongoing demand to keep this number out of the jail in order to remove 350 beds from the facility. This means that, every month, 350 Black people must be prevented and/or diverted from entering the jail, as there are typically 3,900 Black people that cycle through the jail every year. This would eliminate the need for 350 beds in the jail, and also eliminate the need for renovations due to safety and mental health concerns. If there was no structural racism, the jails and the arrest rates should be proportional to the demographics of the population. In a jail of 800, without structural racism and a demographic of 5% Black population there should be closer to 40 Black people, rather than the 400 Black people currently incarcerated.  http://www.wisconsingazette.com/wisconsin/young-gifted-and-black-coalition-open-letter-to-madison-police-chief-michael-koval.html
So, next time you see these fools and tools marching/riots, just think of these racist's moronic demands.

Palm Trees Have Killed More People Than Ebola In U.S.

For the 2nd time in about a month, a Palm Tree has reached and crushed someone.
From the LVRJ: A tree trimmer died Sunday afternoon after he was trapped in a palm tree in North Las Vegas, according to the fire department.
Las Vegas and North Las Vegas firefighters responded just before 1:50 p.m. to 1635 Palmer St., near East Owens Avenue and North Pecos Road, to a man who was about 30 feet up in a palm tree and yelling for help, according to Las Vegas Fire Department spokesman Tim Szymanski.
He was not showing any obvious signs of life when he was rescued by a truck with a bucket at the end of an extended arm, said North Las Vegas Fire Captain Cedric Williams.
He was taken in an ambulance about 2:30 p.m. It was unclear if the man, who Williams described as “middle-aged,” was pronounced dead in the ambulance or at the hospital.
The man who was trimming a palm tree in December was trapped in the fronds and had complained of having trouble breathing. He died of positional mechanical asphyxia, meaning the position of his body obstructed his airways, preventing oxygen from entering his lungs, according to the Clark County coroner’s office.
http://www.reviewjournal.com/news/las-vegas/tree-trimmer-dies-after-being-trapped-palm-tree
Of course, one wonders why the guy was out in th e rain trimming trees in the middle of a rain storm.
But Palm Trees have killed more people in Vegas than Ebola has killed in the entire U.S.

Obama Administration: Stupid Is As Stupid Does

From the NY Daily News: The city of light became a beacon of leadership Sunday when more than 40 heads of state came together to denounce terrorism, with one glaring exception: the lack of a high-ranking U.S. official.
French President Francois Hollande, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, British Prime Minister David Cameron and dozens of other world leaders — including Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas — all took part in the powerful denunciation of last week’s terror attacks that left 17 innocents dead.
But the nation that stands as the symbolic face of the war on terror was nowhere in sight.
Neither President Obama nor Vice President Biden showed up — and in fact, America’s only representative was its relatively unknown and low-profile ambassador to France....
Attorney General Eric Holder did go to Paris — but only for an anti-terrorism summit convened by Hollande ahead of the unity rally.  http://www.nydailynews.com/news/politics/eric-holder-u-s-dignitaries-no-shows-paris-unity-rally-article-1.2073821
I will give Obama an Biden very little slack because it is not easy to arrange all the security and get expensive hotels for Obama or Biden on a short notice.
But Holder- no excuse whatsoever.
3 cops were killed in Paris and would it too much for Holder, the chief law enforcement officer in the U.S., to get off his big fat ass to pay honor to these 3 cops and the other cops who were injured?
What an complete ass.

So, Dallas now knows something about being hosed. sine they were hosed today at Green Bay when Dez Bryant's catch was ruled an incompletion due to a Green bay Challenge.
I am a Green Bay fan and while the call was technically correct, I am surprised it was overturned.
But then again, Bryant is a big jerk and he showed up the referees last week and many times before.
So, it may have been payback time.

President Obama: Follow Your Own Advice

Obama can't be that damn stupid, can he?
From the Arizona Central: President Barack Obama only reiterated a plan announced Wednesday to lower mortgage insurance premiums Thursday morning during his speech at Phoenix's Central High School. He offered no additional initiatives to help homeowners....
"The new rates are for responsible buyers," Obama added. "Don't buy something you can't afford."  http://www.azcentral.com/story/news/arizona/politics/2015/01/08/obama-speech-phoenix-housing-mortgage/21428209/
Yes, President Obama, don't buy something like you can't afford.
Like $2,000,000,000,000 a year in the Federal budget plus all the other regulations Obama has put on U.S. business.
Plus ObamaCare.
So, did a speech writer write this part of the speech or did Obama make another off the cuff remark that makes him look stupid?

Another Reason Why Hillary Won't Be President: Part 1

From the NY Post: Hillary Clinton is “furious” at husband Bill Clinton, according to Washington insiders, after his name came up in the latest sex scandal involving his disgraced former pal Jeffrey Epstein.
Sources at the funeral of Mario Cuomo also said they saw a peevish-looking Hillary angrily “storm” past the former president after he dutifully waited for her by the door of St. Ignatius Loyola Church.
“Talk in Washington is that Hillary is furious with Bill about all this new information on Jeffrey Epstein,” said a DC insider familiar with both Epstein and the Clintons.
Bill’s name has popped up in 2011 court documents relating to Epstein after a woman said to be Virginia Roberts filed a bombshell suit alleging she was Epstein’s teen “sex slave” and paid $15,000 to bed Epstein’s pal, Britain’s Prince Andrew.
The 2011 court docs reveal that 21 email addresses and phone numbers for Bill and an aide were found in Epstein’s electronic black book, and that Bill “frequently flew” with Epstein on his private plane from 2002 to 2005. But the papers say he then “suddenly stopped, raising the suspicion that the friendship abruptly ended, perhaps because of events related to Epstein’s sexual abuse of children.”
Witnesses at Cuomo’s funeral on Tuesday told Page Six that Bill was “waiting by the front door for a long time” before the ceremony. “People assumed he was waiting for Matilda Cuomo. But then Hillary came storming in right past him.” Bill, the spy said, had been waiting for his wife, who didn’t look too happy with him.  http://pagesix.com/2015/01/08/hillary-furious-over-bills-part-in-latest-epstein-sex-scandal/
Not only will Clinton(s) have to deal will all the past scandals- Bill makes Bill Cosby look like a saint, she will have to deal with all the new ones- both his and her scandals.
Just another reason why Hillary won't be president.

Another Reason Why Hillary Won't Be President Part 2

From the Weekly Standard: "This is what we call smart power," Clinton said to a small audience at Georgetown. "Using every possible tool and partner to advance peace and security. Leaving no one on the sidelines. Showing respect even for one's enemies. Trying to understand, in so far as psychologically possible, empathize with their perspective and point of view. Helping to define the problems, determine the solutions. That is what we believe in the 21st century will change -- change the prospects for peace."
Clinton served as secretary of state for the first four years of the Barack Obama presidency. She's considered a likely presidential candidate for the 2016 election.  http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/hillary-we-must-empathize-americas-enemies_820584.html
Um, ok, Hillary, shall we show respect to those terrorist murderous pigs in Paris.
This quote alone should be enough to keep Hillary from becoming president.

Predictions For NFL Playoffs

Here are my predictions for the NFL playoffs this weekend:
Home Team           Visitors           Line         Over/under  My Picks

New England      Baltimore           NE 7.5      48       New England Over

Denver                Indy Colts          Denver 7   53.5   Denver, Under

Seattle                Carolina              Seattle 11.5  40  Seattle, Over

Here are my predictions for the weekend, what are yours?
Update:
So, I went 4-4 for the weekend, including getting 3 out 4 over/under right.
Not bad, especially since many of those who do this for a living or charge people did as good or worse than I did.

Aww, Come On GOP

Seriously:
Mitt Romney
Jeb Bush
Chris Christie
Mike Huckabee
This is the best the GOP leaders can do for the 2016 presidential run?
Yes, We still have Scott Walker,  Bobby Jindal and may be another GOP governor.
(Christie may not be running as he is sucking up to the Dallas Cowboys and Jerry Jones, thereby pissing off 95% of men and most women who hate the Cowboys)
But Romney and Bush as the favorites of the GOP elite?
Seriously?

How Do You Get One Of Those?

From the Wausau Daily Herald:  A 37-year-old Wausau-area emergency room physician was arrested and charged with soliciting prostitution during a recent sting conducted in Rothschild.
Dr. Andrew J. Weddle of Wausau was arrested following an undercover operation run jointly by the Rothschild and Wausau police departments on Dec. 18 and 19, Rothschild Police Capt. Kevin Ostrowski said.
Weddle was cited for soliciting prostitution without a permit, Ostrowski said. The citation carries a maximum fine of $1,951.  http://www.wausaudailyherald.com/story/news/local/2015/01/08/local-doctor-arrested-prostitution-sting/21457719/
So, where do you get one of these permits?
Maybe Clark County ought to think about getting these permits?

Why Were The Fed's Involved?

From the LVRJ: Abdul Howard, a career criminal known as the “Cinched Hoodie Robber,” was sentenced to 13 consecutive terms of life in federal prison Thursday for a series of armed convenience store robberies during a 2013 crime spree.
Howard, 49, who is awaiting trial in Clark County District Court on murder and sexual assault charges, shot a store clerk in the neck, seriously wounding him, in one of the robberies.
Chief U.S. District Judge Gloria Navarro said she had “no problem” putting Howard behind bars for the rest of his life.
“You are an extremely dangerous man,” she told Howard, adding she wanted to make sure the impact on the victims of his crime spree weren’t forgotten....
Following an 11-day federal trial, Howard was convicted in June of all 27 counts stemming from 14 armed robberies during the crime spree. One of the robberies occurred at a small casino. The jury found him guilty of 14 felony counts of interference with commerce by robbery, 12 counts of possession of a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence, and one count of a felon in possession of a firearm.  http://www.reviewjournal.com/news/las-vegas/hoodie-robber-gets-13-life-terms-prison
For the record, I am glad the thug is off the streets.
However, why were the Fed's involved?  These charges could have and should have been tried in the Nevada court system.
If you took it to the extreme, anyone busted for shoplifting could be prosecuted under "interference with commerce by robbery" by the Feds.
All the charges he was convicted of could have been brought into State court to be tried by local jury and sent to a local prison.
The Clark County DA and Las Vegas Metro are getting lazy and they are giving more control to the Feds, and that is not a good thing.
Ironically, the Feds will interfere in this case but they refuse to prosecute 99% of the illegal aliens who live in the U.S..

Guns Save Another Life

Many anti-gun nuts hate this.
From the Las Vegas Sun:
A resident shot and killed one of two intruders who broke into a northwest valley house during an armed home invasion Wednesday night, Metro Police said.
Two people kicked in the door of the house, and the resident, who was home alone, fled to an upstairs bedroom, police said.
One of the intruders, who was carrying a handgun, followed the resident upstairs, police said.
The resident and the man engaged in a gunfight, and the intruder was shot multiple times before he ran from the house and collapsed in the street, police said.
He was taken to University Medical Center and later died, Officer Laura Meltzer said.  http://www.lasvegassun.com/news/2015/jan/08/police-resident-reports-shooting-burglary-suspect/
I am not a gun nut- never owned one.
But those who need guns for protection, hunting or for fun, they should be able to purchase them with few restrictions because do save lives.

Atlanta Fire Chief Fired For His Views On Gays

Whether the gay community wants to admit it or not, there are people with strong religious convictions that think the act of between males and males and females and females is morally wrong.
From Fox News:
Kelvin Cochran was five-years-old when he realized that he wanted to be a firefighter.
“My family was very, very poor,” Cochran told me. “We were living in a shotgun house in an alley – three big brothers, two little sisters.”
One Sunday afternoon the Cochran children heard a fire truck stop across from their neighbor’s home. Miss Maddie’s house was one fire.
“That’s the day that God convicted me in my heart that I wanted to be a firefighter when I grew up,” Cochran said. “All I thought about growing up in Shreveport was not being poor and being a firefighter.”...
But now Chief Cochran’s storied career is up in smoke – all because of a book he wrote for a men’s Bible study group at his Baptist church.
Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed announced Tuesday that Cochran had been fired. The announcement came on the same day Cochran was supposed to return to work following a 30-day suspension.
“The LGBT members of our community have a right to be able to express their views and convictions about sexuality and deserve to be respected for their position without hate or discrimination,” Cochran told me in an exclusive interview. “But Christians also have a right to express our belief regarding our faith and be respected for our position without hate and without discrimination. In the United States, no one should be vilified, hated or discriminated against for expressing their beliefs.”
Cochran had been suspended in November because of a passage he wrote about homosexuality in a book titled, “Who Told You That You Were Naked?” The book’s theme is about biblical morality.
“This is about judgment,” Mayor Reed said during a Tuesday press conference. “This is not about religious freedom. This is not about free speech. Judgment is the basis of the problem.”
Last November the mayor posted a public condemnation of the fire chief on his official Facebook page.
“I profoundly disagree with and am deeply disturbed by the sentiments expressed in the paperback regarding the LGBT community,” the mayor wrote. “I will not tolerate discrimination of any kind within my administration.”
The mayor went on to inform the public that Cochran had been suspended without pay and was ordered to complete a sensitivity training class.
“I want to be clear that the material in Chief Cochran’s book is not representative of my personal beliefs, and is inconsistent with the Administration’s work to make Atlanta a more welcoming city for all of her citizens -- regardless of their sexual orientation, gender, race and religious beliefs,” Mayor Reed wrote.
So what in the world did Cochran write that was so offensive to the mayor and the LGBT community?
According to the GA Voice, a publication that covers the LGBT community, there were two items that caused concern:
“Uncleanness – whatever is opposite of purity; including sodomy, homosexuality, lesbianism, pederasty, bestiality, all other forms of sexual perversion.”
“Naked men refuse to give in, so they pursue sexual fulfillment through multiple partners, with the opposite sex, the same sex, and sex outside of marriage and many other vile, vulgar and inappropriate ways which defile their body – temple and dishonor God.”
Cochran said he referenced homosexuality on less than a half a page in the 160-page book....
Cochran told me that someone within the department obtained a copy of the book and took it to openly-gay city council member Alex Wan.
Wan released a statement supporting Cochran’s termination and said it “sends a strong message to employees about how much we value diversity and how we adhere to a non-discriminatory environment.”
http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2015/01/07/atlanta-fire-chief-was-fired-because-my-christian-faith/
Yeah, the City of Atlanta loves diversity, except they do not tolerate Christian men.
The gay community expects everybody to be tolerant to their lifestyle but if someone has an opposing view to the gay lifestyle, the gay community are not very tolerant and they try and stifle free speech and thought.
I'd say boycott Atlanta, but who would want to visit Atlanta, that crap hole and loser of a city?

The Truth About Unions Comes Out

This isn't a surprise that this happens but a huge surprise that a union official let it slip.
From Firehouse.com: The newly organized union representing Brooklyn Park's part-time firefighters has sued the city, alleging stall tactics and illegal contact with individual members of the union. The suit also challenges the city's decision to add 18 full-time firefighters with the goal of eventually cutting the number of part-timers in half. The suit, filed by American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees Council No. 5 on Dec. 23, accuses the city of failing to negotiate in good faith and failing to bargain directly with the union representing part-timers, which was formed last February.
http://www.firehouse.com/news/11799070/minn-union-sues-to-halt-hiring-of-firefighters
And now the money quote:
"After we did this, everything slowed down. We couldn't get them [city officials] to the table to bargain. Then they announce they would be hiring full-time and less part-time. We think they are basically trying to demonstrate they are in control, not us."
Umm, the union should not be the one's in control of any company or government agency (unless they own it) but this union official thinks they should be the one's in control, the supervisors and administrators.

From the NY Times: For years, Harvard’s experts on health economics and policy have advised presidents and Congress on how to provide health benefits to the nation at a reasonable cost. But those remedies will now be applied to the Harvard faculty, and the professors are in an uproar.
Members of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, the heart of the 378-year-old university, voted overwhelmingly in November to oppose changes that would require them and thousands of other Harvard employees to pay more for health care. The university says the increases are in part a result of the Obama administration’s Affordable Care Act, which many Harvard professors championed.
The faculty vote came too late to stop the cost increases from taking effect this month, and the anger on campus remains focused on questions that are agitating many workplaces: How should the burden of health costs be shared by employers and employees? If employees have to bear more of the cost, will they skimp on medically necessary care, curtail the use of less valuable services, or both?....
In Harvard’s health care enrollment guide for 2015, the university said it “must respond to the national trend of rising health care costs, including some driven by health care reform,” in the form of the Affordable Care Act. The guide said that Harvard faced “added costs” because of provisions in the health care law that extend coverage for children up to age 26, offer free preventive services like mammograms and colonoscopies and, starting in 2018, add a tax on high-cost insurance, known as the Cadillac tax.
http://www.nytimes.com/2015/01/06/us/health-care-fixes-backed-by-harvards-experts-now-roil-its-faculty.html?smid=tw-share&_r=0
Gee, I thought everyone was going to get our healthcare cheaper because of ObamaCare.
And now the Harvard crowd is crying like babies because they have to pay extra, just like the rest of us.
Liberals love to tell us how to live.
But liberals don't like liberal ideas that hurt them personally.
Hypocrites.

Some Things Just Should Not Be Considered

From Buisness Insider:  Bill Gates has taken to his blog to discuss the latest project from the philanthropic Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation: a machine that transforms human waste into clean water and electricity.
According to Gates, at least 2 billion people worldwide don't have access to adequate sanitation, with human waste often polluting the water supply and remaining untreated.
The "Omniprocessor" aims to help with this problem. Its development is led by Seattle-based engineering firm Janicki Bioenergy.
The machine extracts water from sewage that's piped in or delivered to the facility. The dry sewage is then incinerated to generate steam, which powers the entire machine.
Gates publicly demonstrated his commitment to the new technology by drinking a glass of water on camera that entered the machine as feces just minutes before.

Umm, no, I would rather die of thirst than knowingly drink that water and where it came from.

Say What??

From the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel:
A former employee for Shell Pipeline Company whose job it was to oversee maintenance of a jet fuel pipeline near Mitchell International Airport pleaded guilty Wednesday in federal court in Milwaukee to failing to follow federal law in doing his job.
That negligence led to the spill of 9,000 gallons of jet fuel in January 2012. It cost $19 million to clean it up.
Randy Jones, 44, of Louisiana pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Rudolph Randa. He will be sentenced April 30 and faces up to 15 years in prison. Jones has agreed to pay restitution covering the cost of the cleanup, however it is unclear what means he would have to pay that bill.
http://www.jsonline.com/news/crime/ex-worker-pleads-guilty-in-massive-mitchell-airport-fuel-spill-b99421937z1-287833691.html
The guy is too old to play professional sports, so he won't get a big sports contract.
He's probably not going to be a world class singer, reality star or actor.
So that leads him to about only 2 ways to get $19,000,000.
Play the lottery.
Become a drug dealer.
What other choices does he have?

muslim Terrorists At It Again

Once again, muslims, the religion of peace, have decided to kill cartoonists who dared make fun of Muhammad, the god of  islam.
From Fox News:
Masked and garbed in black, the AK-47 wielding assassins appeared to be executing a well-coordinated plan in the late-morning raid, methodically seeking out and executing those targeted for death, and making a clean getaway -- all in the span of a few minutes. Moments after the 11:30 a.m. attack, the three assassins were gone. A manhunt continued into the evening in a shaken and locked-down Paris.
A chilling video of two gunmen stopping their getaway car to wound, chase down and execute a police officer raising his hand in a plea for mercy shows shows tactics and movement that only comes with training, said retired Army Lt. Col. Ralph Peters, a Fox News strategic analyst.
“It was evident immediately that this was a carefully planned, sophisticated operation by well-trained, well-armed veterans of jihad,” Peters said. “This was not a pick-up team. These butchers were methodical and efficient. They weren't just terrorists: They were terrorist commandos.”
In the video, the killers are seen advancing along the street in perfect unison, seamlessly trading places as one man provides cover fire and the other moves forward. They also were dressed in black tactical gear and balaclavas to conceal their faces.  http://www.foxnews.com/world/2015/01/07/terrorist-commandos-paris-gunmen-likely-highly-trained-say-experts/ And this is what these muslim pigs to a poor police officer:

Forunately, CAIR, the muslim terrorist group in the U.S. did condemn the terrorist attack.
They actually called the attack a terror attack, while Obama just called it a horrific shooting.  http://www.whitehouse.gov/blog/2015/01/07/president-obama-responds-attack-france
In the afternoon, Obama called the thug terrorists, terrorists but still not say the shootings was a terrorist attack.
Apparently, one of the muslim pig terrorist thugs has surrendered.
Two brothers and a teenager were last night revealed as the three suspects linked to a deadly terrorist attack on an anti-Islamist newspaper in France.
Said Kouachi, 34, and Cherif Kouachi, 32, both from Paris, were identified along with Hamyd Mourad, 18, from the north-eastern city of Reims.
Anti-terrorism officers hunting the terrorists issued photographs of the two brothers describing them as 'armed and dangerous'.
It came as a source close to the case said Mourad had surrendered to police 'after seeing his name on social media' and was arrested at an undisclosed location.
It appeared last night that the hunt for the other men had turned to the Croix Rouge region of Reims, some two hours by car from Paris.
Dozens of members from France’s elite anti-terror unit surrounded an apartment building and there were reports a flat had been searched.
Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2900259/Gunmen-kill-11-Charlie-Hebdo-attack.html#ixzz3OCLtujAT
There will be a time when Europe will have discuss why they allow so many muslim immigrants into their countries but first, they have to bury the dead and then deal with the issue.
And if you think, with our porous borders, that this kind of attack can't happen here, then you are a fool.

What's Wrong With This Picture?

From Madison.com:
A Chicago-area man pleaded guilty Monday to possessing child pornography while in Madison for work and was sentenced to the mandatory minimum three years in prison.
But Cesar G. Munive, 51, of North Riverside, Illinois, will also likely be deported after he is released from prison because even after 44 years in the U.S., he never became a naturalized citizen, his lawyer said.
Munive was charged in May with three counts of possessing child pornography after he left a phone behind at Extended Stay America, 55 Junction Court, where he stayed while he was in town in September 2013, working for an event company that was part of the annual Epic Systems users group meeting.
According to a criminal complaint, hotel staff could not figure out who the phone belonged to, and when they searched it for clues they found “questionable” pictures on it. A police search of the phone later turned up nude photos of girls as young as 3 years old.
Munive pleaded guilty Monday to one count of possessing child pornography; two others were dismissed.
Barnett and Munive’s lawyer, Marcus Berghahn, jointly recommended the mandatory minimum three-year prison sentence, followed by two years of extended supervision.
Berghahn said, however, that Munive, an Ecuador native, will most likely be deported after his release from prison.

He has been in the country illegally for 44 years, since he was 7 years old?
Obama's dream immigrant.
And no, I don't think he will be deported.  He will give a sob story saying he left his country when he was 7 and he wouldn't know what it would be like living in Ecuador and, especially in Hillary is elected, the liberals in the administration will not force him to go.

Hello, Police, My House Just Got Stolen

From the San Antonio/My SA:
A San Antonio man said his "tiny house," a project he had been working on for more than two years, was stolen.
Casey Friday reported his Spring Branch tiny house, about 228 square feet, was stolen in a profanity-laden blog post, saying his “heart dropped” when his realtor called him Dec. 20 to tell him a neighbor noticed his “trailer” was gone.
“My entire body was shaking as our former real estate agent gave [sic] me the neighbor’s phone number,” Friday said in the blog.
Friday, who lives in San Antonio and owns property in Spring Branch, referred to whoever stole his tiny house as a word that cannot be published by the San Antonio Express-News and said the trauma of someone stealing his home has discouraged him from pursuing future tiny house constructions.  http://www.mysanantonio.com/news/local/article/Texas-man-s-tiny-house-stolen-after-2-5-years-5990426.php
The house was later found on the South side of San Antonio.
The police dispatcher will be telling this story for a long time.

Dang

You won't see this happening at any United States fire department

But, what good are windshield wipers when 85% of the windshield is covered flood water?

Ooops

Well, the conspiracy theorists who believe that Dallas is the sacred cow this year that the NFL wants them to be in the Super bowl will have a lot to talk about.
From ESPN: NFL head of officials Dean Blandino said Monday that the non-call on pass interference against Detroit Lions tight end Brandon Pettigrew by Dallas Cowboys linebacker Anthony Hitchens was debatable, but holding definitely should have been called on the play.
Blandino, speaking on NBC Sports Radio's "Pro Football Talk Live," said the officiating crew erred by announcing a penalty and then picking up the flag. Ideally, he said, the crew would have discussed the play and then announced that there was no penalty on the play. If the crew had handled the situation in this manner, "it would have mitigated some of the response to this," he said.
Blandino said that when he reviewed the play, it appeared as a "judgment call that could have gone either way." But he saw a clear "jersey grab" by Hitchens that should have resulted in a defensive holding call that "should have been called."
The 5-yard defensive holding call would have given the Lions a first down, as the play came on a Matthew Stafford pass on third-and-1 from the Dallas 46. The Lions lined up on fourth down but eventually punted after failing to draw the Cowboys offside. Dallas scored the eventual winning points in the 24-20 wild-card win on the ensuing drive.  http://espn.go.com/dallas/nfl/story/_/id/12124549/dean-blandino-holding-call-missed-vs-dallas-cowboys-lb-anthony-hitchens
Of course, the "call" is not the only reason why Detroit lost, but it was a crucial and a turning point play.
I think the NFL referees are the most honest referees/umpires out there in professional sports, so I doubt that there was a conspiracy, but this has to rank in the top 10 blown calls of all time in the NFL.

New Poll: Who Is Going To Win The Super Bowl?

There are 8 teams left, so who is going to win the Super Bowl?
Carolina? Hahahha
Dallas: They had to have the referee's cheat to win.
Green Bay: My choice
Seattle: 2 times in a row is almost impossible
Baltimore: New England is better
Indianapolis: Gotta got to Denver and they are a dome team. Nope
Denver: Gotta go to New England- at Sea Level-nope
New England:  Good but lost to the Packers earlier this season
Take the poll on the left for your choice.

Well, No Kidding

From the Las Vegas Sun: A man nicknamed "Eyeball" because of a tattoo that darkened the white part of his right eye pleaded guilty to shooting an Anchorage police officer.
KTUU reported the 30-year-old pleaded guilty to first-degree attempted murder, first-degree burglary and third-degree felony in possession of a weapon.....
In explaining his behavior, Barnum deflected some blame to the Alaska Department of Corrections, saying he left prison in 2010 with nowhere to go and nothing to do. "I was living on the streets, and I tried to get a job, but of course my beautiful face didn't allow me to do that," he said.  http://www.lasvegassun.com/news/2015/jan/03/man-known-eyeball-sentenced-shooting-officer/
Yeah, well, with a face like that, he will make money prison than he would in any job outside of prison.
I don't why the judge was even the least bit sympathetic to this cretin.
"It's going to be difficult, but hopefully it'll be easier than the last time," (Judge)Smith said.
Why would the judge even think that?
update  From Alaska Dispatch News, the thug was charged with 33 criminal counts but the DA got it to a plea bargain to 3 charges.
The ADN also said he is 39, not 30.
He also has spent 8 1/2 years in prison since 2001.
http://www.adn.com/article/20150102/man-who-shot-anchorage-officer-gets-22-years-prison
Why would the judge not sentence this loser to a longer sentence?

Geez, Grow Up Nevada GOP

From the LVRJ:
Moving to quash a conservative GOP insurrection, Nevada Assembly Speaker John Hambrick on Saturday harshly rebuked Assemblywoman Michelle Fiore, telling her to stop playing “childish games” and undermining him by insisting she’s still Republican majority leader.
Hambrick said in an email to Fiore that he had full authority as the elected leader of the Assembly Republican Caucus to remove her as majority leader and as chair of the Assembly Taxation Committee.
He said he removed her last month for insubordination and for how she’s handling a dispute with the Internal Revenue Service over unpaid payroll taxes for her home health care business. The IRS has $1 million in liens against Fiore or her company.
“Instead of explaining your IRS issues publicly like you had agreed to do you squandered the opportunity by maliciously attacking two respected consultants and a caucus donor,” Hambrick wrote.  http://www.reviewjournal.com/news/nevada-legislature/nevada-assembly-speaker-rebukes-fiore-power-move
Come on.  The GOP has been out of power for a long time, when it comes time to control the Nevada Assembly and Senate together and when they get the power, they can't get their act together.
Idiots.
And you know the national GOP will have their problems in the next few weeks..
GOP: The political party that cannot handle winning.

Same Old, Same Old In Obamaville

New Year, same results- more death and dying in Obamaville/Chicago, where the racist Brothers of Obamaville-Jesse and Barack, could not care the least little tiny bit.
From the Chicago Sun-Times:
A man was killed and at least nine other people have been wounded in shootings across the city since late Friday afternoon.
The fatal shooting–the first of the new year–happened about 1:30 a.m. Saturday in the West Side Austin neighborhood.
Randy James, 39, was standing on a sidewalk in the 5000 block of West Superior when he heard shots and realized he’d been struck in the left side of the abdomen, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
He took himself to West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park and was later transferred to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 5:50 a.m., authorities said. James lived in the 4600 block of West Adams.
The most recent shooting happened about 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the North Lawndale neighborhood.
A 25-year-old man who showed up at West Suburban with a gunshot wound to the leg told investigators he had been shot in the 1600 block of South Komensky, police said. His condition was stabilized.
Saturday afternoon, three people were shot in the Ashburn neighborhood on the Southwest Side.
A woman and two men, all 19, were in a car about 3 p.m. in the 8100 block of South Campbell when another vehicle pulled up and someone with a gun got out and opened fire, police said.  http://chicago.suntimes.com/news-chicago/7/71/257472/six-wounded-weekend-shootings-across-Chicago
The news last week said murders were down in Chicago but shootings were up.
Well, the reason why the murder number is down is because of the huge improvement in both ambulance and trauma care in the Chicago Fire department and the local hospitals and trauma centers.
And yet, racist's Obama and Jackson don't care about all the deaths and violence in their home city, where Obama still owns a home that is guarded 24/7 by the Secret Service.
When given opportunities to say something the violence in Chicago, both are very, very quiet.  Hence, they are called racist, evil and POS because they would rather side with the gang bangers than the victims.

Talk About Stupid Causes

These are lighters, believe it or not.

From the Stevens Point Journal: It's been almost six years since a group of determined second-graders asked Fire Chief Jerry Minor to help them get a state law passed.
In 2009, Londa Kuehn's class at Pittsville Elementary School read a story in their Weekly Reader about novelty lighters. The lighters are in shapes that would appeal to small children, and many don't have child security devices to stop them from being accidentally lit.
Minor has contacted local legislators, both Republicans and Democrats, repeatedly during the past six years and asked them to help create a law designed to keep children safe. In 2014, state officials held a public hearing on restricting the lighters. It was the closest Minor came to seeing the the children's dream come true, but the legislative session ended before it came up for a vote.
A couple of weeks before Christmas, Minor again started sending out requests for help.
"I basically said, 'Hey, I'm back, and I need your support on both sides of the aisle,'" Minor said. "I told them, 'This is not going away.'"  http://www.stevenspointjournal.com/story/news/local/2015/01/03/fire-chief-continues-fight-novelty-lighter-law/21209457/
Sorry, but I have not heard of many fires started by these lighters.
And if a parent decides to buy their kids these lighters because in many places, you have to be 18 to buy them and a 6 year old just can't walk in to Wal-Mart or other store and buy one of these on their own.
Does he also want to ban play guns as well?
I happen to know Chief Minor from when I lived in Wisconsin Rapids, and I know he is a good man, but he is just wrong on this issue.

Something I Thought I Would Never Say

I thought I would never would say this but...
Go Detroit Lions, beat the Dallas Cowboys in the NFC wildcard game.
If Detroit beats Dallas, then the Lions play Seattle and Carolina plays Green Bay.
If Dallas beats Detroit, then Dallas plays Green Bay.
As a Packer fan, I would much rather have the Packers play Carolina than Dallas, though the Packers will beat either team, but Carolina will be easier.
So, go Detroit, but hell if I ever say that for the Chicago Bears... ever.

Reid In Hospital- What Is He Hiding?

Sen. Harry Reid is in the hospital.
From the LVRJ: Sen. Harry Reid broke ribs and several bones in his face in an accident while exercising at his Henderson home Thursday, his office said Friday morning.
A piece of workout equipment Reid was using broke and caused him to fall, according to a statement. Reid spokeswoman Kristen Orthman said an elastic resistance band snapped in his face.
Reid, 75, was brought to St. Rose Dominican Hospital in Henderson by U.S. Capitol Police security officers he is assigned as a Senate leader and who post guard around the clock. He was then transferred to University Medical Center in Las Vegas, where he was admitted overnight “as a precaution,” aides said.
Reid communications director Adam Jentleson said tests revealed no bleeding in the brain or other internal bleeding.
The Nevada Democrat remained at UMC on Friday morning but was expected to be released, Orthman said. He is likely to show severe bruising on this face, aides said.  http://www.reviewjournal.com/politics/sen-reid-breaks-ribs-bones-exercising-accident
First off, even though I completely despise the man, I do hope he does have a speedy recovery.
But, Reid suffered severe injuries with the possibility of even more injuries.  He had broken ribs and broken bones in the face.  They checked him for internal bleeding and bleeding on the brain. (insert brain joke here).
These are serious and noticeable injuries.
Why wasn't an ambulance called?
By his rent a cops taking him to the hospital in serious condition, they risked hurting him even more or risked having him aggravating even more serious injuries.  He could have had become paralyzed, bled out and suffered cardiac arrest or other serious conditions.
So, what are they hiding?
If they called an ambulance, 1 ambulance would have been dispatched and probably a fire engine as well.  The cops may have been called out because it was Reid but I doubt it.
Why didn't Reid and his entourage want the firefighters to see him and why did they risk Reid's health?
Maybe because they would discover that the accident didn't happen the way he said it did?
Why did they not allow these professionals into his house?
Were they afraid the media would find out when they listened to the scanner and then the media would start asking questions?
So, what is Reid hiding?

When Will the Racist Brothers Congratulate These Cops

The racist brothers, Obama, Holder, Jackson and Sharpton are quick to point, usually wrongly, about police abuse.
They never mention the good things the cops do, like this from Philly.com:
The two uniformed police officers were walking through Camden's Liberty Park neighborhood late Wednesday afternoon when residents urgently flagged them down. A house was on fire, with children trapped inside.
Sean McMahon and Aaron Roselli, officers in the Camden County Police Department, ran to the house on the 800 block of Atlantic Avenue, where neighbors were breaking windows and trying to get upstairs. "The smoke was extremely thick," McMahon said. "It was overwhelming." A mother and her young son and daughter would ultimately be saved by officers, who helped them jump from the burning home, police said Thursday at a news conference. The three victims remained hospitalized Thursday night in critical but stable condition. The blaze began in a Christmas tree, said Michael Harper, Camden's fire chief.
When police arrived, neighbors had tried several times to get upstairs, said Tyree Glover, 32, a Philadelphia man who was visiting his brother three doors down when he heard the shouting. "Neighbors were screaming, 'There's kids in there!' . . . Then," Glover said, "you just kept hearing the windows break." Everyone who had tried to enter the house ran back out, gasping for air. A neighbor grabbed two fire extinguishers; McMahon and Roselli went back into the house and tried to put the fire out on the first floor, while two other officers ran up the stairs. It was impossible. About halfway up the stairwell, Officer Nicholas Marchiafava "was overwhelmed by the smoke," McMahon said, and collapsed. The officers shouted upstairs to the children and their mother, telling them to get to the back window. There would be no rescue from the stairs. Instead, seven officers stood together in the backyard, preparing to catch the residents. From the second floor, the 4-year-old boy jumped, and seven pairs of hands reached out to catch him. His 7-year-old sister followed, then their mother, all safely caught. "They were able to save their lives as they jumped out the second-floor windows," said Capt. Deiter Tunstall, the police commander in charge of operations in the southern half of the city. "These officers showed incredible bravery."
Yep, all the cops involve are white and population of Camden is 83% minority, there is a good chance they saved a minority family.
All in a days work.

Has Anybody Else Noticed That...

Professional newspaper writers are really sucking when it comes to grammar and spelling?
In the past year or so, I've noticed that everyday, you can find misspelled words and poor grammar by these professional writers.
In the past, you would rarely find misspellings and poor grammar, even in the old days of the old electric typewriters- before computers.
That tells me that these writers are not being taught to proofread and rely too heavily on spell and grammar check.
And they only change things after readers point it out in the comment section.  This also tells me the editors are not doing their jobs.
Now, I make mistakes, but hey, I am not a professional writer and often have a beer or 4 in my tummy while I blog... like tonight.  Hey, I only have two beers in me.. but I won't say the size or proof.
So, is it laziness, incompetence, too much reliance on computers or a combination of all three?
I vote for incompetence and laziness.

Ohio State Vs Oregon In NCAA Football Championship

Oregon crushed Florida State while Ohio State defeated Alabama.
So, who to win.
Beating Southeastern teams usually a good thing but this year, Southeastern teams pretty much stunk in bowl games this year, so you can't tell by that.
So, since Oregon kicked Florida State's butt, they look the like the team to beat, so my money is in Oregon.
And I just don't like Ohio State and Urban Myer.

Consumer Alert: Don't Use Safeway Pharmacies

I don't usually don't comment on businesses unless they give very good or very bad service.
Well, Safeway/Vons and other related pharmacies should be avoided like the plague.
My wife and myself need certain medications-I won't go into specifics- and we have been using Vons/Safeway pharmacies for the past couple of years.
However, in the past 4 months, 2 Safeway related pharmacies in Las Vegas and Kingman have been extremely incompetent.
They have lost medication they have filled.
They don't have the medication on hand that they promised.
When a pharmacist is out on a leave of absence, they forget to get the paperwork in order to order certain medications.
And this has caused us to go without medication that the doctor has ordered for several days causing sickness and severe discomfort.
Are all Safeway related pharmacies like this?  Maybe not, but do you want to take the chance with your medication and/or your life.
Avoid Safeway pharmacies.
(And unless you want to pay high prices for food and other items, you probably want to avoid Safeway/Vons)

The Obama Economy

From the NY Daily News:
They don’t call it a lottery for nothing.
More than 92,000 people applied for 924 affordable housing units opening up in two new buildings on the Long Island City waterfront – nearly double the expected number in an impressive show of demand for below-market rate units.
Roughly one out of every hundred applicants in the automated lottery will be selected by mid-February to rent apartments for as low as $490 a month for studios and as high as $2, 680 for two-bedroom, depending on the tenant income....
Meanwhile, across the Brooklyn border more than 70,000 people applied for 38 units of affordable housing in a Williamsburg building on Frost St., which due to the sky-high demand will have an even lower rate of acceptance.   http://www.nydailynews.com/new-york/queens/92-000-applications-pile-affordable-housing-project-article-1.2062415
162,000 applicants for less than a thousand low income housing.
That's the Obama economy for you.
